I haven't seen the Gen V ones yet, but they were losing their touch at Gen III. Beautifly was an ugly ripoff of Butterfree. Taillow = Pidgey. Zigzagoon = Altered version of Rattata. Jirachi = Celebi = Mew (just play Brawl, they all do the same thing). In Gen I, they had 3 Legendary birds with 3 different types. In Gen II, they had 3 Legendary dogs with 3 different types. In Gen III, they had 3 Regi Pokémon with 3 different types. Notice a pattern yet?
Gen I -->Mew
Gen II -->Lugia and Ho-Oh
Gen III -->Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza
Were there four big Legendaries in Sinnoh? Five in Black/White region?

Pokemon is kind of losing its touch. They're running out of ideas for new Pokemon I bet. They're probably going to make Ruby and Sapphire remakes for Generation 5 and then about 5 months after the remakes they're going to make Generation 6 with some more stupid Pokemon.
