The new layout manager will have a layout shop where people can sell their own layouts. However there will also be a section to hire coding experts to modify or create a layout for them.

So if you would like to be listed as a official Vizzed Layout Expert / Specialist please provide the following details:

-How much Viz you charge to modify a current layout
-How much Viz you charge to create a custom layout from scratch
-Availability (How many days in a week are you on to code)
-Timeframe (How many days average will it take to make a layout)
-Specializing in (What code languages? CSS only, HTML only, or both)
-Type of Specialist (Designer or Coder or both)
-Range (Post layouts only, profile layouts only or both)
-Other Skills (Animations / Graphics / etc... )

Please do not ask to be a specialist if you do not know CSS or HTML. For now this is only for layouts, in time I will probably make it so graphic artists can be hired for just graphics only.

I cleared out my original message after thinking about how poorly it was written. Let me rephrase so it sounds better.

1. I'm not interested in modifying layouts. If I get a layout that uses coding I am unfamiliar with, then I won't be able to do anything. I'd rather just rule it out now.
2. I haven't created a custom layout before, so I don't know what a fair price would be. I suppose between 10 and 100 Viz until I get the hang of it. Until then, price would be influenced by the opinions of experienced designers. I am very meticulous, so I won't submit something until it's as perfect as I can do.
3. I check Vizzed every day. I could put in at least an hour or two at some point every day of the week.
4. I don't know of a timeframe because I've never made a layout.
5. I only know HTML coding. I've never used CSS.
6. I would say I'm a mix of designer and coder. I'm better if I have something to start with, such as a game series. My coding knowledge is limited, but I know enough that I could make decent layouts with the knowledge I have.
7. Post Layouts only. I don't want to try to mess with profile layouts at this point.
8. I can make average animated GIFs. I spent an hour or two making the one that is my User Pic now. I also like recoloring Fire Emblem sprites (non-animated) to fit current characters. My minipic is a recolored version of Erk from Fire Emblem 7. It was recolored to look like Tormod from Fire Emblem 9.

1. Really, I don't know how much is good. Would 500 Viz be a good price for modification???

2. Erm, anywhere from 2,000 to 4,000 viz, I guess.

3. I'm on every day.

4. Really, it depends on the type. If someone wants simply a text box with a background, I can get it done in under an hour. If someone wants something complicated, it might take a day or two.

5. I'm good at both. I can really work with both.

6. Coder, really. I can make things look flashy, so I can be a designer too, but I know tons of coding specifications and everything, that's my department.

7. I haven't tried a post layout yet, but it should be simple enough. I like designing profiles, I've done it before.

8. Ummm... I can animate with the Gif file type. I can edit photos (turn them around, change the various contrasts and brightness, make them transparent, etc.)

Hopefully that's good enough. Do you think I'd qualify for your job(s)?

1. Modification? Mostly based on difficulty, maybe around 50 viz?

2. From Scratch, around 500 Viz.

3. I'm available one or two days each week, so I won't be available in the 2010 year (exams, preparation, etc.), but i'll be a lot more available 2011.

4. Really, I haven't spent more than twenty minutes creating the graphics and making the layouts themselves. I can create good quality layouts at most one hour, but probably less.

5. I know HTML, some CSS (mostly the CSS for layouts).

6. I'm pretty good as design, but there are those who are better. I'd probably be a coder.

7. Range: Both, pretty much.

8. I can do a hand stand with one hand.

I'm available 4-5 days a week to code, wont charge more then 500 Viz and only doing custom layouts i can probally do 1-2 layouts a day depending on complexity and what the individual wants, i know Html only but willing to learn CSS and i love to design things so that would be my specialty i think, will only do original works but im cheap labor so yea let me know, dont know to much about animation or moving graphics but i can figure it out, i used to make Sigs for ppl on D2jsp.org if you want some vouches let me know thanks DiabeticZach

Change of plans, I'll just make a form for anyone who wants to be listed as a specialist have them fill it out. Will announce where you can fill out the form shortly, gotta make it first.

So does that mean I should just wait for the next form? Cuz if not, here goes:

-Too much experience getting screwed Viz-wise. 2,000-5,000. Harder job, more Viz.
-People can tell me what they want done anytime, but for reasons I won't explain I'm only available to do the job at night.

JigSaw : I finally reached 250 posts. Based on old rules, I should be able to customize my layout. I'm guessing based on David's thread about that inappropriate layout that the 250-post rule has since been revoked and you have been working on the new system.

What I'm actually wondering is, How can I practice making layouts? If I can't test them through my profile, how can I know how to do them? I have a good plan for a Fire Emblem based layout for myself, but I have no idea how to find a way to do trial and error to make sure it works. Right now I have no way to know the groundwork needed to make a layout work.

This is really a formality, but I'm applying.
I feel I sort of have to seeing as how great I am with html
I'll probably wait though until JigSaw has his form up, though tell me if you want me to answer those questions and I'll do it.

BNuge : You can practice your layout skills by going and editing any one of your posts and filling in the header and signature sections with whatever code you want to try.
Then just use "preview post" to see how it looks.
That should help you out a little bit I think

The preview option isn't doing anything. It just turns out normal regardless of what I do. I did notice that I can copy the header into the actual post. For this to work, I also have to post the stuff from the signature into the post. I changed Electric River around just a little. I actually accidentally clicked Edit instead of preview and this happened:

Will I get in trouble if I leave it like this while I practice and try to remember to only click Preview? Also, is this something Davideo7 or Jigsaw should know, considering it's pretty much a giant potential problem (I guess you could call it a glitch) in their plan for regulated layouts?

There's one plus for them. The background picture won't work because the img thing kicks in when I try to change the background image as soon as I click Edit. I deleted the formatting tags and accidentally edited again (instead of preview). I noticed the picture still didn't appear. When I went back into Edit, the tags had returned. I think this will stop people from taking advantage of this too much.



JigSaw : How's this for my first layout?

I'm somewhat proud of this despite its simplicity. Can I leave it up? If the picture doesn't work I'm going to use trial and error to try and outsmart the automatic setting that tags the image.

I'll give David some credit for this. I made the Fire Emblem picture myself, but I used the table code from David's Electric River.

I had a layout store, and I'm currently on order for the_casualty. Notable clients are big fat cat, Robert7, , MegaRevolution1 (Who doesn't have it now), Klown, and legacyme3.

Big and Mega's layouts were basically coded by septembern, but I recoded it a bit, and redesigned it.

I spent a good bit last night making the form for this close to finished I'll post a link to it once I'm done. Your instantly approved just be sure you are what you say in it
