So I got Goldeneye on the Nintendo Wii. I had been eyeing this game for quite a while. I finally decided to pick it up and now I am going to give you guys the speel. First of all I am going to give the review in two parts. I will give part one on the single player and part two on the multiplayer. So lets Go!

Story
Well I WILL spoil it for you just because that is how I roll. So if you have not even heard of the movie/ game and you want to play/ watch it spoiler free skip this part. Well anyway the story follows the film pretty well. Takes out all the parts that had no game play that you could add and then also "modernized it." This over all feels like a Bond movie. There are some parts where you forget that you are playing the game and then you are like "WOWZURS!" Some parts are a little dry though. In particular the night club. This is a SMALL scene in the movie and they make it large in the game, minor complaint but it is there. The story is one of betrayal but one thing is there is not much GOLDENEYE. The name the game is based off of and it is barley touched on. More like an over arching story than anything else. 006 should be shot. In my opinion. Over all at the end of the game it feels very satisfieng and wrapped up.

Gameplay/ Level Design
The game play is great. I came in expecting a just Call of Duty with Bond. Which is kind of what you get. No it feels COD but also feels distinctively Bond. Taking out guards with the silenced P99 is so satisfieng. There is a few levels of difficulty the first being easy but still fun and the last being insanely hard. No this brings me to the level design. Most levels work well, where some I get friking lost. This might just be me but some objectives are hard to find. There is usually multiple pathways through each level. One you will go into a fire fight, the other can silently take down all guards. I also must say that it DEMANDS multiple playthroughs. Just because of how you do.

Controls
The wii mote sucks. Enough said. Use the classic

The Graphics and sound.
I did not expect much when it came to the graphics but I was plesently surprised. This shows that if you work hard on the wii you can make it look really good. The wii does a great job with the lighting and the particle effects. This makes the world look more lively and more, well awesome. The game looks really good and the Mo-Cab blows me away. This is the best Mo-Cab I have ever seen on the wii. Their eyes even move with mo-cab. This is just really good, considering during cutscenese (that you can't skip) you have the what I like to call half life approach. The cut scenes rarely show Bond and most are in his head. The sound is also fantastic. The people sound really good and most if not all are voiced by the people from the current Bond line-up. (i.e. Daniel Craig, Judie Dench.) But Daniel has a low voice mad lower in this game. My TV had mistaken it for bass so if I shut the bass off there went his voice. The gun noises, some are good and some sound so off. The silenced P99 is still awesome to hear. Overall the graphics and sound equal win!

Stay tuned for my next part where we go threw the multi player! Just saying I have spent over 50 hours with this game in the week and a half I have had it so I am qualified to say it's quality.

I like the review, but since you told me what I think, I'll be straight with you.

You see, there are two types of reviews, really. There are reviews that show, and reviews that are organized and tell you the info. I have dabbled in both, so I can tell you my expertise (although I'm by no means professional).

Your review kinda mixes the two, and thats a kind of mix you dont want. You divided the review into sections, but you also kinda told a story. Basically, you want to choose one or the other. Because you mixed the two, I can't tell if you have a biased view or are trying to be as level as possible.

I'll give you a few traits for each type:

Show:
Tells a story
Doesn't have a score at the end
Sometimes incorporates humor

Tell:
Is divided into sections
Gives a straight score; not biased
Has a score at the end

Hopefully that helps If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

the_casualty : Thanks for the constructive critisism? This is how I always write reviews. When I did movie reviews for the city paper I wrote them like this and when I got a job on another site (I will not name because bad shifts happened)I wrote like this and I was liked a lot. So this is just how I write and you can take it our leave it but a lot of people like it.

But really thanks.

I am like a preschooler I show AND tell.

Nice review but I have unanswered questions. How similar is it to the N64 version? Does the game have the soundtrack for the old goldeneye game? (Probably not) but that would suck to leave it out that has a great soundtrack. Same levels? Or completely different?

I think this remake is a big swing and a miss a decade late. Goldeneye was the peak of bond in my opinion both the movie and game. But that was in the 90's... After that it went downhill

However, I do think they could do better with multiplayer then the original on this one. Good thing about the original is it stood out from other FPS games during its time, I'm not sure the same can be said with this new one.

JigSaw : Sorry to not answer those questions. I am sure others have them so I will answer. The sound track is different. There are some songs that are the same but that is a rarity. The sound track is fantastic though. The songs are Bondy, and really get in the action parts well. The only thing similar about the N64 and the new one is the story and the fact that you are James and start with a silenced P99. The levels are also completly different. Aside from the very front of the very first level. This is the same but the way you play is much different. All the changes I think are for the better.

marioisawesome : I wasn't trying to be negative... as a matter of a fact, I'm sure I have many things I can improve on my own reviews. Nobody is perfect, even the professionals need ideas. If nobody told you what was good and what was bad, there would be no way to improve.
