What are your thoughts on MMOs? I never really got into any or tried to until a member of the site and another friend tried to get me into Black Desert Online and if I could of ran it better I could of seen myself enjoying it for a little bit but I don't think I would of ever spent 100s of hours on it or anything. Later in the same year I got dragged into playing Maplestory 2 a game that I think was terrible and just not very fun and I think the community agreed with me cause it got shut down I believe only like a year after it opened on steam! Now I don't have any experience with games like WoW or Runescape but I have looked into them before and every time I always think they just don't look fun as a video game which confuses me cause I think that's my problem with MMOs in general they don't seem like they try to just be fun video games which in my head should be a game's first goal? Maybe someone with more experience would have a better opinion on this but I just don't get it. Of the limited MMOs I've tried the only one I've sorta enjoyed would have to be Final Fantasy 14 which I've been playing some through the free trial and even that I don't think is really all that fun so far the most fun I've had is trying different instruments since I'm a bard. I do have another MMO I wanna get around to trying that is Chicken Invaders Universe since I grew up with the Chicken Invaders game and the series was my start on hating chickens but I don't really know what to expect with that one so maybe I'll reply here someday when I get around to trying it.

I barley know MMO's. The main reason is I'm an old school gamer. I grew up on the Atari, NES, and SNES. I like old school games like Mega Man and Mario. I have friends that play MMO but I'm not a fan of them. I have always wondered if playing an MMO game with other online players could expose you to getting hacked or malware put on your computer. I guess you can say I'm not a fan of them.

Too many shut down MMOs, so I can't form much of an opinion on them. Personally, I love the basic concept, but the grind is usually too much. Plus, they're only playable for a limited amount of time. Some of the best stuff is locked behind paywalls, too. Looking at you, mabinogi.

I've tried many MMOs and personally I feel that each has at least one thing that you could probably enjoy about it, honestly, I'd just say if you're interested in one try it out for an hour or two and if it isn't doing much for you drop it and move onto the next one. I believe the best one for me personally is FF14 since unlike many MMOs it has a higher focus on being a good game first and foremost than being a good MMO 2nd which is how I feel more should do it. It is rather interesting though that now thanks to Lost Ark being considered a good game it is making people more open to good games that are also pay-to-win since usually games that are considered pay-to-win die and fade into obscurity unless they're a mobile game which where they thrive.

I love MMO's for the most part because you can usually get a crazy amount of content from each one, especially if you really get involved with the community. But there are three things that I don't really like about them. The first one is that you always need a really good internet connection. It's not like a simple MOBA, Battle Royale, or FPS game where you just need to be connected for like 5 to 10 minutes at a time.

The 2nd is that many MMO's require an absurd amount of $ just to play through subscriptions or whatever.

The 3rd is that once you move on from an MMO, it's hard to get back in and they quickly start to die.
