Oscar Nominations were released earlier today and every year I do my predictions and hopefuls lists and here's my list for this year.

Costume Design: Joker

The movie simply looked classy and rugged at the same time. Though I would hope for Once Upon A Time in Hollywood to win.

Sound Mixing: Ad Astra

Nothing comes close to the soundlessness of space.

Sound Editing: 1917

Original Score: 1917

Thomas Newman is a great composer with a history of success. He's never won before but was nominated 13 times. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker would be my hopeful.

Supporting Actor: Al Pacino or Joe Pesci

I'm pissed that Sam Rockwell wasnt nominated for what he did in Richard Jewell, he was amazing. I want Brad Pitt to win but The Irishman has to take it.

Production Design: 1917

This one was tough because Once Upon A Time in Hollywood and JoJo Rabbit had beautiful sets but the environment in 1917 really looked like it was all one giant set that spanned for miles.

Film Editing: Ford V. Ferrari

Cinematography: Joker

Would love for Once Upon A Time in Hollywood to win though.

Visual Effects: 1917

Sure Endgame and Star Wars looked sick but all the stuff going on in 1917 looked real.

Makeup and Hairstyling: Joker

Animated Feature Film: Toy Story 4

Though I want How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World To win.

Original Song: Into The Unknown (Frozen II)

This is way better than that song from Frozen 1.

Adapted Screenplay: Joker

Original Screenplay: Parasite

But I want Once Upon A Time to win.

Leading Actor: Adam Driver (Marriage Story)

Could also go to Joaquin Phoenix or Leonardo DiCaprio

Supporting Actress: Kathy Bates (Richard Jewell)

Leading Actress: Saoirse Ronan (Little Women)

Best Directing: Parasite

But I want Once Upon A Time in Hollywood or 1917 to win.

Best Picture: The Irishman

Would like Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, 1917, or JoJo Rabbit to win.

I think that I agree with most of these. They are all pretty great in their own rights and I wish the best for all of the participants regardless of whether I particularly liked their work or not. I still need to get around to watching Frozen 2 though. XD
