I always wanted to go to the University of Minnesota but I ended up having to settle like most things. I also wanted to become a famous Rapper but that never worked out so my fallback was television and arts.

I know alot of you are still very young so I'am intrigued to hear what you guys wanted to do for school?

Many of the things that I wanted to do when I was young are still things that I do now. When I was young, I used to write a lot and my dream was to be a writer. Then once I started high school, my dream was to go to a division 1 University to study Sports Management.

Fast forward more than 10 degrees and now I have 2 college degrees, 1 in Sports Management and 1 in Journalism.

I had wanted to study Chemistry because I was good at it and intrigued about how working on a laboratory felt like. I actually made that dream come true and entered my university of choice, where I spent good days fulfilling my dream.

It came to a halt due to my disease not allowing me to keep the required pace. After just one year I had to quit, and tried my luck elsewhere without much success as I struggled with my health.

I've finally landed on solid land. I'm trying to become a voice actor, something I always praised the Japanese anime for, and maybe I'll try my luck at broadcasting sports. Both could also be called dreams of my childhood, just that I never properly realized how true they could become.

I may also try writing and more possibly translation works. I'm good at languages, and I'll be learning a few throughout the year to increase my chances. As for writing, not sure if I'll do anything about it, but I'll use both Vizzed and Gamefaqs to not get rusty.

zanderlex : Thats awesome! Do you mind me asking what you do for a living with your degrees? I always loved sports and was always on sports teams growing up all throughout school.

EX Palen : That sounds awesome! Can you do alot of different voices or do you have one of those silky smooth voices that are made for radio? I've wanted to maybe do some writing in my spare time. I mod over at the WrestleTalk discord and they are always looking for American writers to pitch in but I guess whenever I have time to produce an article for them as a sample I get kinda freaked out about it because I get afraid of being rejected and I just don't follow through. It's the same reason that I write jokes in my joke book but I dunno if I'll ever get up the guts to go to an open mic and just give it my best shot.

Blacksmith84 : I do nothing yet, still have 1 more degree to get.

Blacksmith84 : I've been told I have a voice made for radio, though I'm learning to effectively use my voice and produce different tones and pitches. It's impressive what you can discover about yourself when training your voice.

I also only write for fun. I did have a time on this site where I tried to have a routine for writing something every month, but I'm unable to produce such work now. I don't know if I'd be able to do that elsewhere or even on a job, but I won't know for sure until I manage to try it out.

EX Palen : Very very true. I admire that you are going after something that you truly enjoy doing. I've heard from friends I have a bit of the typical Minnesotan accent but I've also been told by some attractive women that they really like it alot so I guess I have that.

Maybe they can cast me in the newest season of Fargo and I can play some low level thug. They always seem to go a little TOO hard on the accent as no one really talks with THAT thick of a MN accent. At least no one under the age of 75 years old. It's always the old Swedes and Nords that talk like that.

I am currently doing a level 3 BTEC computing course, I am planning on hopefully going into a computing related job in the future but we'll see I guess that's currently at least but when I was younger I wanted to be a writer. XD

Growing up, I wanted to work in the games industry, and by the time I was 16, I had a freelance job in the games press. It inspired me to want to work in marketing or public relations within the gaming industry, and so I went for a Masters in Business Administration. Long story short, I got kicked out of a group project over nothing which led to me failing college. I plan on returning, taking Game Design while learning on my own, then I will go back home and work a full time job somewhere while I craft my game. I am inspired every day by people like Tom Happ, Toby Fox, and Edmund McMillan. I have the industry connection to get my work seen, and I intend fully on using it in my future.

Growing up, I wanted to be a lot of things. I aimed to be a professional athlete (lol), a best-selling author (lol), a video game streamer (lol), and an all around cool dude (ok, this one came true).

Now, I'm in the process of working on a career that is more important than all of those things, so it all worked out for me.

Growing up I always wanted to be a soccer player and play professionally. My back up being a historian or at least a history teacher but things kinda fell in high school with multiple leg injuries and lost of motivation from said injuries. I don’t know if I would’ve been my backup dream if I didn’t get blinded by grief but life is unexpected at times. Granted I do still have a lot of time but I’m more like anxious about it knowing that it’s been years since I had some kind of formal education

When I was much younger, I wanted my future studies to be about animals. I still love animals, but I am much more focused on people now. I'm currently hoping to have a career helping the environment and, ultimately, other people.

I always wanted to be a doctor when I was younger. I never really thought about what field of medicine that I'd take up... but I knew I wanted to be a doctor. Unfortunately here we are now, and I've realized I'm not made for medical school.

When I was younger like pre turning 7 I really wanted to be an astronaut I just always thought space looked beautiful and wanted to explore it but then I was told by my parents when I got type one diabetes that it was impossible for me so I gave up my first dream at a young age.

Wanted to make games, always have, and that desire has still not changed, currently learning programming in college.

I actually thought that I would end up working at a daycare like my mother because I like being around children, but then even after I did Take Your Kids to work day (you know I feel bad for all the 9th graders that had to miss out on it this school year because of the pandemic) then I had an epiphany while I was in the library, I had had a habit of organizing all the old people magazines in a certain order and someone asked me where a certain one was, and that's when it hit me....Maybe my place is not in a daycare, but in a library. Well it was the plan for me to study to be a librarian, but to do that, I would have to travel out of province to do that, and we didn't have any close relatives to well check up on me once in awhile, so I ended up studying Library and Information Technology, and still ended up working in a School Library.

I didn't ever want to be anything while growing up... I had a rough time growing up; in and out of Juvenile Hall and doing community service, blah blah blah.

I am now almost done with my Industrial Refrigeration schooling, so I might be getting a big pay raise.

For the longest time as a kid, I thought I wanted to work with animals for my career. I had a friend in high school who volunteered at an animal shelter, and I wanted to work at one in the future. Things have changed a lot since then! I still love animals, but I can't imagine having a career involving animals. I just want to take care of whatever pets I end up having.
