Oh wow, a review of a game published by Ubisoft...I don't buy games published by Ubisoft anymore, I got WarTech: Senko no Ronde in 2016, and...it's been more than a year since the last time I got a game published by Ubisoft, as with most AAA companies, I refuse to buy games published by Ubisoft, at least most of the time. WarTech: Senko no Ronde is an interesting game that, if it wasn't for Ubisoft, it would have stayed in Japan, I can't believe I'm saying that, but it's true, WarTech: Senko no Ronde was the first 2D shooter/Shoot 'em up released for Xbox 360 in America, yes, it's true that WarTech: Senko no Ronde isn't...a traditional 2D Shooter, but in any case, it was the first game of its kind to be released outside of Japan, the other games of the genre on Xbox 360, Triggerheart Exelica, Raiden IV, Deathsmiles, etc...those were released after WarTech: Senko no Ronde. Anyway, when it comes to fanservice, I don't know if this game is on par with Trouble Witches Neo! or not, but it's true that this game contains images of characters wearing revealing or suggestive outfits. Anyway, let's begin.

Story: I'm pretty sure that this game has some kind of story, but the truth is, perhaps nobody knows exactly what is the story about, it's been said that the story of WarTech: Senko no Ronde is convoluted, and it's true. In any case, the opening shows this narration: It's a story from long, long ago -- Fortana was born in the nook of a small village. Ever since she was born she never stopped crying. Her wailing voice caused many people to suffer. If she didn't stop her wails would eventually cover the entire world. ''Fortana will surely be gone in 100 years time'' The people held to that hope and entrusted it to the distant skies. The people ran from the ark known as Earth. And so Fortana, who was now all alone, cried until she took her final breath. -- In this way, the old world came to an end, And a new world, began. The game should have a story, but, even if the narration during the opening explains how the old world came to an end, something that might be relevant, that still doesn't explain the rest of the story and details...to be honest, I don't know if the story as a whole makes sense, because there are several playable characters. If we take Mika Mikli, for example, his story is...about finding the truth about his parents' death, his parents died in an incident 6 years ago, something about a man who blew himself up...I don't know, I'm sure that there is an interesting story or at least a story with potential somewhere, but...it's convoluted, and that's without mentioning the other characters, the android Ernula for example, the manual says that ''her true mission is to eliminate anything that poses a threat to her master.'' The thing is...who is her master? At least the part about Fortana sounds interesting, and, in a way, WarTech: Senko no Ronde has a better story than Otomedius Excellent, it's not saying much, but at least on paper, the...bits about the story we know are more interesting. The playable characters are also interesting and it seems that they have different motivations and personalities, Ernula is a fun character...she loves rabbits.

Graphics: WarTech: Senko no Ronde looks a little better than Otomedius Excellent, at least. This game was released in 2007, and even for its time, it wasn't the game with the best grahpics, the backgrounds don't look that good, that city looks kind of bad even for an Xbox 360 game, for example, however, the lighting effects, nice 3D models, cool effects for the bullets, lasers and explosions make up for the rest of the graphics. The 2D art looks beautiful to this day, despite being a game that was released more than 10 years ago, the character designs still look great, WarTech: Senko no Ronde isn't even an otome game, but one could say that the characters are so well designed that at times, the male characters look like female characters...as I said, these characters are well designed, and unlike Otomedius Excellent, WarTech: Senko no Ronde has a distinctive art style. The interface looks nice and in my opinion the menus look cool, overall, it's obvious that it's not the most beautiful game for Xbox 360, but I can't deny that I like how the game looks.

Sound: The game has a better soundtrack than other Shoot 'em ups, Yasuhisa Watanabe is/was a great composer, WarTech: Senko no Ronde has more memorable themes than other games. It's a varied soundtrack with a little of everything, Deathsmiles has a soundtrack where almost every theme is fitting for the gothic style of the game, but this game? It's an awesome soundtrack with varied music, ''Inner Fire'' is an awesome rock song, ''Brave Heart'' is relaxing and jazzy, ''Find the Way'' is catchy...I can keep going. It's interesting that the techno music in this game tends to sound sound soft and relaxing (''Little Witch'' and the menus, for example), and I like that. It's an amazing soundtrack at times, and it's another of those cases where I like the music more than I thought. Unfortunately, WarTech: Senko no Ronde doesn't have an English dub, like other anime style games for Xbox 360, including both Otomedius Excellent and Deathsmiles, the game doesn't have English audio, and that's something I do not like. At least compared to other Japanese games, this game has better voice acting, the voice acting isn't that annoying, unlike other Japanese games, Changpo Baek might be the worst example of voice acting in this game, and even she isn't that bad...I think. So, yeah, the game has better voice acting than other Japanese games that also have Japanese voices only, at least I think it has better voice acting...

Addictive: A fighting game with Shoot 'em up gameplay, that's exactly what WarTech: Senko no Ronde is. The controls are easy to use and the game is very playable, there is less slowdown than in other games of the genre, and that's assuming that the game suffers from slowdown at all, WarTech: Senko no Ronde runs really well. Anyway, you move with the left analog stick or d-pad, the X button is for main weapon attacks, and the Y button is for sub weapon attacks, to dash you use the A button, to activate a barrier, RT is used, the X, Y, A and RT buttons are probably the buttons that will be used most during gameplay. The barrier than can be activated with RT reduces the amount of damage received, of course, it's useful. Perhaps it's true that the gameplay is a little complex, but once you really understand how the controls work, it's a really fun game. there are a few different modes of play, and I have finished this game with every playable character. There are a few more controls that I could explain, but let's just say that it's a very fun game, it doesn't have a tutorial, sure, but the controls appear in the manual, and I don't know if it's just me, but the game is easy to play, and it's fun.

Depth: Like almost every single 2D Shooter/Shoot 'em up, you can finish this game in less than an hour, however, there is some unlockable content, and of course, you will need to play the game with every playable character if you want to unlock the images of all the characters, for example. One could say that this game has more unlockable content than Otomedius Excellent, this game has more things to unlock than Otomedius Excellent, but also...WarTech: Senko no Ronde doesn't have unlockable characters unlike Otomedius Excellent, so..which game has better unlockable content? I don't know, but...it's true that the game has a lot of unlockable content, more or less...I haven't unlocked everything yet...

Difficulty: The game is difficult at times, I haven't played the game on every difficulty, but I always play the game on what might be normal difficulty, if I remember well, and even so, I've lost many times, some bosses and characters are easier with some characters and harder with others, I don't know if it's just me, but that machine is harder to defeat with Feltelen Levinas (yes, I'm using her real name) than with other characters, for example.

If you are a fan of 2D Shooters/Shoot 'em ups, I can easily recommend this game. WarTech: Senko no Ronde is very fun, and the soundtrack is also a great part of the game. This game is a good choice if you want to play something that might be interesting and fun. Just one thing: Don't play WarTech: Senko no Ronde for the story. I can't believe I'm saying this but...Ubisoft, thanks for publishing WarTech: Senko no Ronde.
