A lot of users have complained about the Tour de Vizzed occurring too often so here's your chance to have your voice heard. If more people vote for Yes, then starting in 2018 the TdV will only occur twice a year which would be in January and July. If more people vote no, then we'll continue the tradition of having the TdV 4 times a year in January, April, July and October.

I think that we should indeed go with just two competitions a year, given how activity has been lately. Having less chances to participate will concentrate everyone's efforts, meaning a much closer competition should be expected, and those less chances to shine can probably make other users step up earlier than they expected in order to stand out.

Since this idea would leave April and October without a competition, there's a window of opportunity to introduce other competitions during those months (or any other month in the 5 month gap between each TdV). I'm not saying that we should bring back the VCS to make up, but I've heard several projects from different users that could make this site more appealing, and having such a big gap is the perfect chance to set something up without having users burned up from the TdV or getting ready for it.

Once a year sounds much better to me. Just place it during summer where we usually get our most traffic and extend to last all summer, with maybe every 4 week off so it isn't so long and exhausting.

I wouldn't want to go straight to once a year, I'd rather do twice a year first to see how that goes before going just once a year. I'd prefer twice a year personally. Only once seems like it isn't often enough.

Also, if you drop how often it happens then you should update the new user qualifications for the white jersey. That might allow more people to compete for it.

Late replying, but I also believe that the TDV is better off having been taken down to twice a year. The whole competition's pretty much been synonymous with on-site drama that also spills over into other private areas and, while I think the real blame falls on an inability for participants to maintain a certain level of sportsmanship instead of the competition itself, I'm hoping the lesser frequency will reduce that drama and also make it somewhat more interesting. It's a little like going to your favorite place to eat more than twice a week for a month straight. After a while, it's just not special anymore and you kinduh grow to hate it.
