I didn't think that Tales of Symphonia brought anything really new to the table outside of making the battle field 3D and giving it an ackward feeling compared to the previous games in the series. I also thought that the story telling and the voice acting were kiddish as hell. Very annoying indeed. For a game that I have been waiting a long time to be released, I was sorely disappointed. If you find a used copy of Tale of Eternia for the PSX, get that instead. Don't waste your money on this.

In short, if you haven't played any of the Tales games before, you'll like this game. It stays pretty well true to the older games gameplay wise. If you've played the older games, you'll be hitting your head against the wall chanting "What the hell is this?" But as long as I cut the voice actors off, I didn't find the game too bad. And the story itself is decent enough. But I was still pissed when I plunked down $50 for it when it first came out. It's $20 now so that's a plus but some stores still carry them at the inflated price. (coughWalMartcough)

No, Janus and the Gurus arrived afterward. When Crono and crew showed up, she was still on her feet. When you see it happen from Janus's perspective when he and the Gurus arrive, she is on the ground. And even though she was refering to her pendent when she teleported Magus and Crono's buddies out, she collapsed several times while Crono and crew were heading down. Proving that the power flowing threw the Mammon Machine was taking a toll on Schala. Hell, Magus was even getting worried about her after the first few times. Another thing I would like to point out is that Janus harnessed far more power then even Queen Zeal or Schala. If you talk to the NPC outside Schala's room, he mentions that he senses a strong force in Janus surpassing that a Schala dispite the fact that Janus had no signs of any magical ability at all. I also believe that neither Schala or Queen Zeal noticed because if they did, they would've reconized him immediately when he came back as the Prophet.

I would like to give you credit on the Lavos fight at the Ocean Palace though. I've noticed that as well. However, after you kill off his first form, his second and third forms are still as weak as before. But yeah, Lavo's "Destrction Rains from the Heavens" Technique is a good deal stronger. I think he is weakened because Magus gave him a good hit with his scythe before knocking Magus back and draining some of his power.

Basically, just play through the game again from when you first enter Zeal to the point Zeal falls and take notice of every detail. You'll piece it all together when you do.

I'd like to think that, being stuck there with Lavos, she turned right around and they started kicking the crap out of each other, whereas this other guy says she would have sat there just whimpering, basically. I like my idea of Schala better, and I don't wanna see others ruin that. You're probably the same way...don't wanna risk tampering with and screwing up what's great already.

Seeings how she used the last of her pendent's power to teleport Magus and Crono's two buddies out of the Ocean Palace and then collapsed on the ground, it would stand to reason that she would sit there whimpering. Not to mention that shortly afterward, the three Gurus and Janus showed up and she was powerless to help them. So put two and two together, and what do you get? Simply put, she didn't have the strength to put up any kind of fight and one of Lavo's Spawns had its way with her. She wasted all of her strength activating the Mammon Machine remember?

Oh, and by the way Vash, Ozzie had a hand in raising Janus as well.

If you cant support it then you areant a fan. You also don't deserve to play the game. You do realise that without a remake it will be forgotten at the end of our lifetimes. WHens the last time you heard of a 9 year old playing it?

That post proves that you are one of the worst types of obseesors. Grow up. By the way, I played the game when it first came out and I was 11 at the time.
