General Information:
This game appears to be a translation of the Japan only game issue.  A simple puzzle game where you manipulate the directions the character moves in to accomplish a goal and reach the exit.

Specific Information:
This game appears to be a fairly simplistic if slightly confusing puzzle game.  The translations are primarily for single item things as there is no real dialogue in the game.  There is no tutorial to give you a clue as to what you are supposed to be doing so you have to guess as to how to play and what your goal is.  Once you have figured out that part the game is a repetition of the same thing every level. Snoopy is supposed to go to a store, buy a certain item(or items) and get to the goal(exit) for the level. Movement is by placing arrows in the blocks of available walking space with different obstacles as you go along.  For example, on one level you have to pick up hammers to take out blocks in your way.  You have to be quick however since once you place the first arrow Snoopy starts walking and if he walks off the "sidewalk" you lose a life(of which you have three).

GRAPHICS: 3
The graphics for this game are not very imaginative or creative.  Every level looks the same with the only difference being in how the "sidewalk" is laid out.  The only difference in the buildings is the there is one graphic for 'houses' and one for 'stores'.  The graphics for each of the Peanuts characters at least are fairly close to the originals and easily identified even in pixelated form.

SOUND: 3
The sound for the game is tinny music that doesn't even relate to the Peanuts, even the end level music sounds like random notes(end level graphic is Snoopy sitting in front of Schroeder and his piano) instead of the expected Peanuts music.  Additionally there is one loop for the levels and one for the end level and can very quickly get annoying.

ADDICTIVE: 3
Unless you really like this sort of puzzle game this game holds no real appeal for some looking to waste time playing a game.  With the game being so simple is has no draw to bring you back for more than a single game and that only if you really want to play something and have nothing else to do.

DEPTH: 3
There is no story line to this game and no real tangible objective to reach beyond 'buy item' and 'walk to exit'.  If you are looking for a game with deeper meaning...there is none here.  There doesn't seem to be any kind of ending to the game as well the levels simply get progressively more complex as you go.

STORY: 0
With no dialogue and no information there is no story in this game to be had.

DIFFICULTY: 5
The reason for the difficulty is the lack of tutorial or explanation as well as the fact that you must think and work fast to keep Snoopy from walking off the board.  Some difficulty also comes from the fact that the puzzles are different for every level and must be worked out as you go along with more and more complex puzzles as you go.  Additionally the controls are not intuitive in the least making it difficult to easily start playing.

OVERALL: 3.4
Over all this game is not interesting, not visually stimulating or musically catchy. With no way to grab attention this game unfortunately barely merits a first look, let along a second.

TetraDigm : Sorry about the spacing.  I went through and edited the thing twice (it had strange spacing even in the original post that I had not added) and it still came out...well wonky is the best word I can come up with.  Not sure why it did it and it drove me up the wall.  First review I've done here so I'm still feeling out the format of how I want to do it (hoping to do more of them).  Thanks for the advice on it I'll be sure to keep it in mind for any future reviews I do.

General Information:

This game is a hack of the original Blue Pokémon game.

Specific Information:

For the most part game play precedes much the same as in the
original game. Changes that are seen
right off the bat include the fact that much of the dialogue has been
changed. Specifically the first thing
PROF. OAK does is insult the character. Much of the dialogue is the same gratuitous insults and random curses
pepper most of the interactions in the game (the interaction at the Pokémon Center being one of the few that does not seem to have been changed). Not only
does the character’s MOM insult the player but so does pretty much every other
character in the game. Poke Mart
buildings are now labeled HELL, and the Pokémon Centers are identified as BOKE. The Only other change that is seen on a
constant basis is that the FIGHT command has now been changed to KILL!. Not very
original really.

Many of the Pokémon (or BokéMOB as the game calls them)
sprite images have been subtly changed so visuals during battles are little different than the usual and a vast majority of the human sprites (including the
player) have been replaced with images culled from the Pokémon sprites. This actually can provide to be a bit
confusing as determining which sprites are human characters and which are ‘BokéMOB’
can be a little tricky.

Starting off the game follows the same line as the original
game with the main difference being in the names of the starter Pokémon having
been changed. Instead of CHARIZARD,
SQUIRTLE, and BULBASAUR the player now gets to choose between TOASTERMOB,
PISSER, and ONIONFROG. However before
you get to thinking that is means all the Pokémon have been renamed for this,
think again. Near as can be seen these are the only Pokémon that were renamed
for this hack.

One thing that the redone dialogue does do is remove a lot
of the reminders of what to do and where to go. For example only the fact that I’ve played this game since it first came
out insured that I acquired the map. Where the dialogue in the original tells you where to get it and in fact
to get it in the first place the replaced dialogue makes no mention of the
rival’s sister or the town map. This
could pose a problem for those who have never played the game before or who
have not played it in a long time and so may have forgotten some of the quirks.

GRAPHICS: 8

I rated the graphics an 8 because the changes to the
original Pokémon pictures are actually decently done if in some cases a bit subtle. Over all it appears as if the majority of the work was actually concentrated
there.

SOUND: 4

Sound has not been changed in any way, shape or form. The standard sounds and music are used and so
there is no changes made there.

ADDICTIVE: 7

Much like the original games this does have the same effect
of sucking you in despite the tone of the dialogue. While I might not play this specific version
of the game I have no doubt I will continue playing other titles and offerings
in this game.

DEPTH: 2

Frankly the whole thing strikes me as the brainchild of a
bored male teenager that just wanted free reign with no filter.

STORY: 2

There are no changes to the storyline itself so no new
challenges in the game.

DIFFICULTY: 7

The game does retain its original difficulty so no surprises
there.

Awesome Kid - Thank you for the welcome.  I am certainly looking forward to seeing what games I will discover here.

AriaAngelDream - I'm certainly going to try, thanks so much for the welcome.

Singelli - My husband is an E-6 in the Army due to retire(hopefully, they've postponed it twice now) some time in Feb.

Soft crafts are also called 'textile crafts'. The term comes from the fact that they all involve fabric or thread of one sort or another in their construction.  Items made with textiles are generally flexible and non-rigid thus the designation of 'soft' crafts.  While not used as often the 'hard crafts' are those that are made with rigid materials.  My seed bead and wire jewellery for example would be 'hard crafts' because they lack the flexibility of items made with fabrics and threads.  Is there a craft you are interested in?  While I didn't list everything(the list of crafts I have knowledge of is pretty extensive) I always enjoy spreading knowledge around.

Truthfully I'm a bit of a lurker.  My family actually complains about the fact that I'm horrible about keeping in touch. But I'll take a look at the thread just in case.

Remus CD Lupin

PS  Well I guess I didn't do just one post.

Hello, figured if there was one single post I needed to make this one was it.

First off I go by RemusCDLupin, I'm a military wife and mother of three girls (ages 17, 13, and 9) that likes to play primarily RPGs although I occasionally play what are called Timed Games like Cake Mania.  When I am not playing games I like to read (both standard fiction and fan fiction), sew, quilt and a number of other 'soft' crafts as they are called.  Additionally I also make seed bead, wire and chain mail jewellery. Outside of the home I participate in the SCA (Society of Creative Anachronisms - a middle ages recreation society) and ride my motorcycle. I am bilingual - speaking, reading and writing in Spanish (Mexico not Spain) as well as English.

Games that I currently enjoy in particular include: Morrowwind, Skyrim, World of Warcraft, Minecraft and all the currently out versions of Fable.  One of my current 'as the mood strikes me' projects is a mod for Morrowwind of a castle that is at the moment nicknamed 'the training castle' that is about 25% finished.  Here on Vizzed I mostly play the old Game Boy (Original, Color and Advanced) games: Pokémon, Zelda and Final Fantasy but I'm willing to check out other games if anyone has a favorite to suggest.
