Graphics 10 This game has graphics like no other SNES game you have ever laid eyes on. Mario looks like Mario. Goombas look like brown mushrooms still. Koopa Troopas are still overkill tortoises. Geno is the best, mostly because he looks like a puppet with a nightgown, because that's what he is. +Magic spells. Bowser is still a giant overkill tortoise with a shell that resembles spikes from Zelda on a portal on an overkill tortoise. And Mallow... is a marshmallow. Peach is still an extremely lame princess who likes to be captured and, as everyone knows, saved by Mario. And toadstool guys are still weird-looking 1-Ups and HP boosts. It's like your regular Mario plat former, but 3D. Sound 10 Bowser's Castle sounds like Bowser's dull, easy-beaten(Until visit#2), old brick wall excuse for a sturdy castle (That doesn't mean the castle looks bad, it means Bowser is trying to pass off a weak castle, which is practically a brick wall, for a castle). And Mario's Cab sounds like Mario's personal, extremely catchy, familiar tune. Mario still sounds like he is making an obnoxious "Boing!" sound when he jumps. Too bad Princess Toadstool doesn't shriek. Like, actually make a shriek sound. That would be cool, but it could be annoying at times. Again, just like your average Mario plat former, just the game is 3D, with some extra sounds and tunes, for the RPG style play. Addictiveness 10 This game is very fun. There are tons and tons of hidden Frog Coins for special purposes. There are many different re playable Mini-Games, such as the Mine Cart Mini-Game, or the Yoshi Racing Mini-Game. Or the Midus River Mini-Game. Also, you can equip items, such as the Hammer, and the Symbols, and Parasol... A certain character even has a weapon where he or she throws Mario at the enemy. There are tons of secrets, and like, the game is incredible, just incredible. Story 10 There are a few story plots. After Mario unsuccessfully tries to rescue Princess Toadstool( This is surprising, because Mario is an awesome Italian plumber, and Bowser is a clumsy, heavy, hopeless tortoise who tries to make himself look intimidating.), a giant sword, with a NAME comes crashing down on the Dream Road, and destroys the Grand Star, and splits it into 7 pieces. After that, the sword, Exor, crashes down on Bowser's Castle, and the 3 protagonists become separated, and the Smithy gang takes over Mario's world. You later find out, that without the Grand Star, no more wishes can be made. And the 7 star pieces landed in 7 separate places, one of these areas, Bowser's Castle. So, that is where, both you, and Mario, gain full understanding and Mario sets off on his REAL journey, to try to repair the Star Road. Depth 10 This game is longer than you think if you thought this game is just another princess-saving errand game. Because IT'S NOT. This game is much longer than that. Once you save Toadstool, then she is separated from you once more. And, if you feel angry at Bowser and want to kill him, too bad, because he is separated from you, too. And then, you go on a journey in 7 areas, one area you go to twice, to repair the Star Road, so that dreams come true once more. There are also small side quests that can obtain you cool stuff, some of them are really hard to complete, some are really easy. There are also many, secrets, like the path that obtains you, like, 7 Frog Coins in the Forest Maze. Difficulty 7 This game isn't TOO hard, but there are numerous bosses that take care of me pretty easy, just like their are difficult enemies. The cake thing in Marrymore used to, and still does give me trouble. Exor is in my Top 5 Hardest Bosses. Axem Rangers are the #1 hardest boss for me to defeat. Red and Black just kill me, but if Black is dead, then Green is giving me trouble. If Black and Green are dead, it's either Pink or Yellow giving me trouble. They are almost impossible for me to kill, no matter what. Overall 10 This game is 100% unique from other Mario games. It is a huge, fun, complex game, with an RPG style combat system, and is one of the best SNES games ever. It is most definitely in my top 20 favorite SNES games. That is to conclude this review. Graphics 5 Honestly, there's not much for this category. The only things there are: Q-Bert, Snakes, Squares, Discs, and little grapes with sunglasses. So I rated this a 5 Sound 1 Not a lot of sounds, either. The only thing I've heard is Q-Bert's jumps. So I gave this a 1. Addictiveness 10 This is a very good game. There really kind of isn't an ending, so I play this for High Score and fun alone. It's just fun to jump on little purple grapes and kill snakes by jumping on colorful lines, and brag to sisters about High Scores. Story 0 -------------------- Depth 1 Pretty much the game isn't exactly "long" in game terms, but there are quite a few levels. Difficulty 5 The game isn't a typical manner of hard, because all you're doing is jumping on squares, but then again, there's the challenge of controls, and the snakes that try to stop you, so about halfway to 10. Overall 7.3 The game is addictive, it's fun to kill snakes. So about 7.3. Honestly, there's not much for this category. Graphics 8 I really can't say there's much in the way for graphics. Basically, the only things you see are bosses, enemies, doors, and Pit. But still, they do look pretty good. Sound 10 The music is incredible, the enemies dying sounds like things blowing up, and luckily, the game doesn't make a "Jumping" sound effect when you jump. Addictiveness 10 I don't really WANT to play this game over and over again, but there is a problem with that. WHENEVER I DIE, I FEEL LIKE MEDUSA IS TAUNTING ME WITH HER MIDDLE FINGER! AND IT JUST GETS SO ANNOYING, I JUST WANT TO BEAT THIS GAME, AND GET IT OVER WITH. Story 3 The goddess of light, Palutena, has been captured by the goddess of death, Medusa, and Pit needs to save Palutena. Not much there, huh? Depth 10 This game takes a very, incredibly long time to beat. You might have to spend 3 days on a single level( And if you do, I feel your pain.). The difficulty has a big role in this. Difficulty 10 This game is the hardest game I have ever played, PERIOD. As you go up, the screen goes up, and if you go down... "I'M FINISHED!" There are many hard enemies, such as Reapers, and Eggplant Wizards. The Reapers, when they see you, throw a fit, and try to kill you like a mad-skeleton zombie ghost thing, and summon little minions that come in 5's or 6's. The Eggplant Wizards, are equally( If not more) annoying as the Reapers. They have the privilege of turning you into an Eggplant, and you'll need to backtrack to a Hospital. You'll need to visit there so much, they'll name the place after you. Hos-PIT-al. (Reference from Kid Icarus Uprising) Overall 7.9 Honestly, I bought this game, hoping it would be the best game ever from all I heard from it. But, it wasn't. I'm not saying it's not a good game, it's just disappointing that it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I really can't say there's much in the way for graphics. Graphics 10 When I think good graphics, I think Final Fantasy. The enemy and boss design is well done, the world map is top notch, and Garland's armor is shiny. Sound 10 Final Fantasy has some of the best music and sound effects I have ever heard. The theme song sends me daydreaming, the victory theme is colorful, and the sound effects sound like magic and fighting. Addictiveness 10 This game is SO good, I wish I still had it for my step dad's NES. I would, and still do, sit there, fighting enemies, for 6 HOURS for no reason, other than fun. There are different classes that you can use in your party, and in a way, it's kind of like difficulty. You can choose FighterX4, Thief, White Magi, Black Magi, and Red Magi, or Black Belt, Red MageX3, and a ton of other different combinations, that make the game harder and easier in different circumstances. Story 10 2,000 years ago, 4 orbs shined bright, inside to outside, until they became dark. Final Fantasy Prologue: The world is veiled in darkness. The wind stops, the sea is wild, and the earth begins to rot. The people wait, their only hope, a prophecy.... When the world is in darkness, 4 warriors will come. After a long journey, 4 young people arrive, each holding an ORB...". And thus begins your story. Depth 10 There are so many things to do in this game, that I don't think I will ever be able to beat this game at times. You start having to defeat Garland, the evil dark night. Then, you need to find Matoya's Crystal. Then, you need to free Provoka from pirates. Then, you need to do everything else on the southern continent. The world map is GIGANTIC. The Level Cap is Level 99. There are 8 spell levels. And there are so many bosses. This game is one of the biggest games I have ever played. Difficulty 10 This game is also one of the hardest games I have ever played. I hardly make it past Garland sometimes. There are also regular enemies, that are harder to kill than bosses. For example, the Mad Pony can kill any magi in just 1 turn if you are not a high enough level. Creeps kill everyone in my party, every time I encounter one. I don't even DARE to fight ogres. Iguanas are incredibly tough, and take SO long to kill, I'm surprised I even kill 1 Iguana! This game is incredibly difficult, and that is one of my top ten favorite things about this game. Overall 10 This game has great graphics, an incredible story, is very lengthy, and is very, very hard. Graphics 5 This game does not have VERY good graphics, but it's better than staring at the back of a boy in a red tunic. One of the reasons why it does not have very good graphics, is because in the side-scrolling view, take a good look at the hand Link is holding his sword in. It looks like an extent to his hand. At least the shield actually looks like a shield. Sound 9 The game's sound when you kill an enemy reminds me of a classic game over. Just not as depressing. The music on the world map is a little tweaked up from ZELDA, and the music in the side-scrolling view is OH-SO good. Especially in dungeons. It gives me the feeling I am in a giant labyrinth in Link's prospective, only looking at his side, instead of through his eyes. Addictiveness 10 I find this game so addictive because of it's Level-Up system. There are 24 Levels total, 8 for each category: Attack(Sword), Life(Heart), and Magic(Magic Jar). Also because there are spells to learn, which involve you going into side quests to receive an item, and coming back(Example: Leaving: Please help me find my father's trophy! Coming back with trophy: Oh, you found it! Please come inside! Then, you go to the back of the house, and an old man gives you the Fire spell.) These both make the game easier, because with the Shield spell, you can half damage received, and investing in the Life ability, will also allow you to do this, thus, making your overall defense 95% more than normal. There are also a lot of secret lives, and it just makes me want to find everything in the game. Depth 7 The game is only 6 dungeons long, so I don't have much to say about THAT, but there is also 24 Levels, and for Level 24, you need like 2600 EXP, and you're fighting enemies that only give you 10 EXP most of the time(Occasionally, the EXP reaches above 100, but not so much.), and that adds another 2 hours to your game play, along with the fact that there are 5 spells, and you need to find the place the quest item is in, and there are also 8 Containers, 4 for Life, and 4 for Magic. Story 10 Before Zelda 1, Ganon was(Obviously) after the Triforce, the powerful triangle of the gods. Zelda wouldn't give him her Triforce, and Ganon captured Zelda. After Ganon got his hands on the Triforce of Power, Ganon wanted to know where the final Triforce was, but Zelda wouldn't tell Ganon. And then, Zelda split her Triforce( The Triforce of Wisdom) into 8 pieces, and hid them in the dungeons around Hyrule. In Zelda 1, Link found the 8 pieces of the Triforce of Wisdom, and with the power of his Triforce, the final Triforce, defeated Ganon. And in Zelda II, Ganon's minions are trying to kill Link, and sprinkle Link's blood on Ganon's body to revive him. Not exactly a story for children, but it IS a pretty good one! Difficulty 10 This is a very hard game, but still, I like that, and also it is what is expected of a Nintendo game, much less a Zelda game. Whenever you die, you restart in Zelda's Temple, with a total of 000 EXP/[50]. Also, you have lives until this happens, thankfully, but still you do die pretty often, especially on bosses, and also, on side-scrolling scenes with lava or water, and enemies, you will either run out of life, or fall into the lava or water A LOT. Overall 10 I am proud to say, that this game is one game I will never, ever move on from. It's addictive, fun, hard, and is one of the best NES games ever. Chapter 1- Your Best Party (Equipment) LOCKE- Relic: Genji Glove, Brigand's Glove (The Genji Glove lets LOCKE attack twice in a turn, so make sure LOCKE has a good weapon equipped in each hand, and the Brigand's Glove lets LOCKE use Mug, and so if you repetitively use Mug with the Genji Glove equipped, LOCKE will steal twice, as well as deal damage for each steal.). Seriously, the rest does not matter, aside from equip everybody but LOCKE with Dragoonboots, so that when the "Attack" command is used, everyone (Except LOCKE) will be invincible. Chapter 2- Your Best Party, as in the actual Party LOCKE would be a good choice, seeing how if you read this and followed the directions in Chapter 1, you equipped him greatly, so it would be a very bad choice to let that go to waste. SABIN would also be an incredible choice, because he learns Fire Dance around Level 18 for his "Blitz" command, and that can really wipe out. If that does not work, than the following would also be awesome. EDGAR would be a good choice because of his "Tools" command, more specifically, the Autocrossbow. It attacks every enemy, and I hardly use any other tool than the Autocrossbow, because it is so extremely useful. CYAN is an optimum choice because of his Swrd.Tek ability, but I only ever find 2 and 4 useful. I don't really care much for CYAN, but Swrd.Tek makes it all worthwhile. Chapter 3-The Best Party (Leveling the characters that do not earn levels by normal means) There are two characters from this game that I know of that do not level up by killing enemies. GAU- To level up GAU, you must go to the Veldt. Then, you must use GAU's "Leap" command on an enemy, and he will be gone for a few turns. When he returns, he should learn a new style. MOG- To level up MOG, I am pretty sure you need to visit a certain part in a town, and MOG will dance there, and he'll learn a new Dance. Again, I have never much cared for anyone aside from LOCKE, CYAN, EDGAR, and SABIN, so I never bothered to find out.
