Bintsy : I can't clear any Zelda game in 1 hour because that would mean I'd have to fit all the action into a small amount of time. Which means Link would scream constantly for the majority of the playthrough, as I mash all the buttons.
There's a limited amount of HYAAAAAA's a person can withstand before breaking.

But I bet the next person could teach their parents to play Darksouls!

reaper13342 : I haven't played that many RPG's, but I would recommend Earthbound if you haven't played it yet. It's a lot like other RPG's, but with a lot of humor and charm.

It's actually a sequel to Mother 1, but I recommend starting with Earthbound (Based on others recommendations).

OrdannonsX : I would recommend Infamous: Second Son. It was one of the first games I bought when I got my PS4, and it's still my favorite PS4 title. I jumped into it without knowing very much about the game and story before, as I haven't played the PS3 titles (and still haven't had the chance to do so). But explaining the game without spoilers, I would say it's a beautiful open world game with super powers and a great but not necessarily over complicated story with different endings depending on moral choices. I also felt like the game kept surprising me through my whole playthrough, and would recommend going into the game as blind as possible if you plan on playing it.

The combat and movement in the game is also very satisfying. You have a upgrade tree that let's you unlock a lot of different attacks, which you can then combine to find the easiest way to defeat your enemies the way you want to. You also unlock different upgrades depending on your karma, giving you abilities matching you play style. There's also abilities that make it easier and more fun traversing Seattle.

It's surprisingly satisfying to glide around

The only situation I can't recommend it, is if you've already seen someone play through it (as I remember a lot of bigger youtubers playing it back when it came out). I can't imagine you'll get the same experience if you've already know how the game is going to play out, as there's no multiplayer or much replayability. There's only a single player mode (But with two different endings). There is some level of unlockabels though, that you get rewarded with by doing challenges in the over world, which I found pretty satisfying. But they're not big enough of a deal to recommend the game only based of them.

cnw64 : Maybe the reason why Xemnas was absent from the first Kingdom Hearts game, was because he was running around shirtless in a distant world!

I started learning c++ in school, but since the course was held by the most awkward and confusing teacher, it ended up in a disaster. It was really hard keeping tracks of terms, as the Swedish and English terms were often mixed up. It wasn't very sequential either, as he could start explaining things with terms that we still hadn't learned.

We also got a book to read, but it was mostly fully in Swedish, and often skipped important information. For an example, I didn't learn about namespaces until much later. I feel very unsettled when writing lines I don't know the purpose of. Luckily, I made it through the class by reading through the tutorials on cplusplus.com, and now, I'm reading through "Beginning c++ through game programming" by Michael Dawson for a bit of repetition and to fill in some of the gaps. It's also more motivating to read, as it teaches you in the context of game programming.

I'm right now taking a course in C# too, with the same teacher. But this time I'm more prepared, as I know how much independence you need when learning. I'm not sure if I'm going to get as deep into c# yet, though. As it's not as fast as c++, and pretty much only necessary when scripting.

After I'm done with the book I'm currently reading, I'll start reading about the API, "SFML". Which is both multi-platform and multi-language, and got a lot of features, which means it will probably still be useful if I switches to a new language or platform. I've also heard it's pretty good performing.

Undertale is easily my favorite game this year. I saw Game Grumps play it, and after the first episode, I knew I had to buy and play it myself before continuing. The best impulse bought game I've ever bought! If anyone reading this thread haven't played the game yet, I recommend buying it before you get the game spoiled! It's 10€ on steam and can be found a little bit cheaper on g2a!

The only thing bad I could say about the game, is the fact that I personally found some of the jokes was a bit cringe worthy. But I think that also gives the game a bit of its charm.

The protagonists in mother 1 (earthbound beginnings) and mother 2 (earthbound) is pretty much identical. This confused me as I'm pretty new to the series. And now I've accidentally named Ninten after Ness in my first run, as I've only previously known the series from smash bros.

I'm guessing they tried to pull off some kind of Legend of Zelda thing, where the protagonist looked the same in every game. But they broke that pattern in Mother 3, so now it's just confusing.

Also, they look a bit like the trainers in the original pokemon games, if you compare the sprites.

I think it's all about the way the toys are marketed. "Boy" toys are often based on big franchises, making it a good idea to make products of higher quality to get the interest of older fans who might also buy the product.
"Girl" toys are only trying to market their toys to little girls, which mean they all follow the "cute" template. There's not a lot good of franchises fitting into this template, as it's quite limiting. When girls grow away from the age of obsessing over cute stuff, and wanting toys because they're toys, there's not really a lot keeping them interested to "girl" toys.

Kids buy toys because they want something to play with, and girls choose the "girly" toys because it's in the human nature (maybe?) for most girls to like the things that's used to market the toys with. But when you grow older, there's no need for you to play anymore, as you've matured into the adult life which the playing prepared you for back in the more primitive times. When there's no need to play, there's no need to buy the "girly" toys, unless you got a big interest in those.

But if we gain interest (or keep interest) in a franchise, there's often an interest to buy toys based on it, simply because you want to own it. But there's not a lot of quality franchises for toys marketed for girls, since the template is very limiting.

In other words, once you turn mature, it's the franchises that matter, and there's more franchises that's considered "boyish", as they're not that limited to anything (except not following the "girly" template).
The liking of a franchise is mostly stronger than the branding of "girl" and "boy" toys. An example of this is the bronies who collect My little pony toys, and my 8 year old little sister who's obsessed over Marvel  (It's her birthday today, and she got an hulk toy).

Also, the ones who's really limited is the boys, who get judged when liking "girly" things (once again with the bronies as an example).

I used to train Judo, but the local we were training in was pretty bad, so I quit pretty soon. There were dead flies everywhere, and there were no real dressing room. I didn't train for that long, but my friend told me their tournaments didn't follow the rules very good, and I think there were more bad things, but I can't remember any right now.

I've trained boxing a bit more when I was a kid, since my grandpa is a boxing trainer and got his own club. While it was pretty fun to punch people in the face, "kid me" sadly lost interest afters some time. I might be interested in picking it up again in the future, though.

My sister made an account for me on a site when I was around 7 or something. She ended up using Catamandoo, which was the name of a horse she heard about or something. I don't really care that much about names, so I've been using it ever since, and I've never met someone using the same name, except for a Finnish brand of clothing with a similar name (Catmandoo).

I've googled also googled and confirmed that there is a horse called Catamandoo.

I was introduced to the Internet by my sister when I was around 6 or 8 years old. She's only two years older than me, and she was like almost every other girl in her age interested in horses, so she used to hang around on a website were you had your own stable and horses and such.

She made an account for me and, even though I barely used the account, I've been using the same username since then. I don't remember where she found the name, but after googling a bit, I found a horse with a similar name. There's also a Finnish brand of clothes called Catmandoo. But since it's not spelled the same way, and the site was horse related, I'm guessing it's after the horse.

I always liked the number 13. I found it really fun when my friends were freaking out on Friday the 13th as a kid. I also thought it was my lucky number, but can't remember why.

Kuti_Kat : I were also going to mention the UNDERTALE soundtrack. I don't think I've ever been that emotional when playing a game before xD

Have to mention the soundtrack that plays during
Spoiler:
the fight with Asriel
, though.

mastergame : I guess you're right about them trying to hard to like a game, as they played through multiple Sonic games because of the popularity the videos gained. I remember them trash talking Sonic Adventure a lot, until the audience got frustrated, which led them to cut down the trash talk. They openly discussed this in the videos, so they newer acted in secret.

I don't know where you are from, so it could be different in different cultures. But when I talk with close friends, there's often a kind of jokingly rudeness.
A stupid example (not a real example!):
Me: *Does something stupid*
Friend: "you're stupid"
Me: "your face is stupid"

It's not really meant to be hurtful, but kind of an effect of knowing each other good enough to understand if they're serious or not.
(I don't know much about sociology, so I'm not sure if the explanation is 100% correct.)

I don't think don't think their behavior is fake at least. You learn a lot about them if you watch most of their videos, and Arin is a big fan of this kind of humor, and like other works using the same humor. He often mentions Rick and Morty (which is a comedy series on adult swim with pretty rude and explicit humor) and has recently been hanging out a bit with the creator of the show, since Arin voiced a character in the latest Rick and Morty episode. If you don't enjoy "Rick and Morty" or "South Park", I can fully understand why you don't like this channel.

But if we're talking about rudeness against the viewers, or other people, I guess there is things they've said that could be found hurtful. But from what I've experienced, they always excuse themselves if they find something they said rude. (Even if it's about a famous person)

There's one thing they did though, which I found really irresponsible, which was when they used a walkthrough while playing Sonic Adventure. They got mad because it didn't help them, as it didn't give detailed answers what to do, and they joked about the audience sending the writer hate. They didn't think it would matter or reach him, as the walkthrough was maybe 10 years old or something (I don't remember, but it was really old), but the writer ended up receiving a bunch of hate anyway.
They ended up removing that video and re-uploaded a censored version, but it was still pretty dumb. Arin should know how the internet works by now, as he has a very long history with it.

About the commercial. Yes, it was pretty horrible. But honestly, if you watch their commercial for their own t-shirts, you'll find out all their commercials are awkward and terrible. There's even blooper reels, proving that they're actually really bad at acting. I actually think it were the clients who made a bad decision when choosing Game Grumps to do the commercial.

I see why you don't like them now, though. Thanks for taking the time to give me a detailed explanation! ^^

I see why you don't like them now, though. Thanks for taking the time to give me a detailed explanation! ^^

mastergame : I don't play through a game that I don't find interesting, so why would they?
Does that also make me a fake gamer, do you think they'll revoke my gamer card for that?
(Bonus points if you get that reference ^^ (It's a reference to this: http://www.thegamercat.com/comic/real-talk/ (I spoiled the answer, but you still get a Bonus point!)))

The reason they talk in such a rude manner, is because that's the way they talk with each other in person. I understand if you don't like it, but I experience these kind of subjects in real life when talking with my friends, so I personally don't really mind. I don't think they should have to restrain themselves when talking with each other, simply because of others' opinions. If they weren't acting like themselves, and instead restrained themselves, wouldn't that also be considered fake? Of course, a disclaimer in the video or description of some sort wouldn't hurt.

Also, I personally don't mind people doing commercials, as long as they're not implemented in their own series (Like Jacksfilms, Machinima and other channels). As long as I'm not getting it showed up my face, I don't mind.
Why wouldn't they be allowed to receive job offers from other companies, when they're not mixing it into their own work or promoting it in secret? Game Grumps is their job, and that is how real companies work.
A lot of actors do commercials, that doesn't make the movies they're in any worse, and real movies and tv-Shows promote bigger companies all the time!

Also, it seems like you might have felt offended by my post. I'm sorry, I didn't mean that your opinion was wrong, they were just a bit simplified, so wanted to know your real argument behind them.

Thanks for the reply! ^^

I got to go with Super Mario World. I find the game extremely gorgeous and colorful. The SNES era truly is the point where games started to become really beautiful. I find the NES games pretty ugly actually, because of the limited colors and such.

I also like Cape Mario, even though it's harder to handle than the Tanooki Suit. I don't really care that much about Yoshi though.

I could have chosen New Super Mario Bros U actually, but I don't think they recreated the feeling of that game that well.

mastergame : (I'm not sure if TristanTehGamer1 want anyone to defend channels in this thread, and if he feel like this doesn't belong here, I'll make sure to edit this post.)

I've been watching Game Grumps for a pretty long time, and other than the commercials they do, I don't remember them selling out that much.

And if I take a wild guess, the reason why you think they're fake gamers is because they're bad at video games, which is true. And the reason why they are, is because they don't have much free time to play video games by their own. Arin and Ross were both animators before working on Game Grumps, and Danny has been trying to become a musician or something. And right now, they're all working on other side projects while doing Game Grumps.

This is only my opinion, and if someone think I'm wring, I'm of course open for critique ^^

I'm also going to mention a youtuber I don't like of course, as that's the reason of this thread. Which is The Gamers Joint. No one has probably heard about him, but he basically make news updates on Kingdom Hearts. And as a Kingdom Hearts fan, I needed someone like that to subscribe to, as the third installment has recently become a thing.

The problem I got with him though, is that he often drag out the video into more than 5 minutes for every piece of news. Even if there's barely any news to talk about (or any real news at all). It often feels like it takes a long time for him to come to the point, and once he has done that, he goes on with speculations and keep repeating facts that the he has already told the viewer.

Eniitan : It's been a while since you posted here, so you could have gotten a grip around windows 8 by now. But if you haven't, I recommend Classic Shell. You can find it here: http://www.classicshell.net/

By using this, you can get back the old windows 7 start button. You can also use it to make the new explorer look like the old one, but you decide if you want that. It's not very complicated to use!

Don't get me wrong. I think you should support developers if you like their games, but I can understand if you don't feel like buying a whole console simply to play one game. You could try a flashcard instead. They're not cheaper than a normal 3DS game, but it lets you install multiple roms on one cartridge. So instead of getting a 2DS and Pokémon, you get a 2DS and access to every 3DS game close the same price.

I don't own one, or know anyone that owns one, but I've read a tiny bit about one called SKY3DS (official site: http://www.sky3ds.com/), which is a simple too use flashcard where you install the games on a micro SD card and then simply swap games by pressing a button on the cartridge. No homebrew or anything, simply install roms, put flashcard in your 2DS, press the button until you get to the game you desire to play, and then play it.

Maybe not a solution if you're low on money, but paying $240 to play all the 3DS games instead of one game for $170 could be a bit more appealing. Just make sure to read into it a bit more before buying anything.

I don't actually drink coffee, but I would probably go to McDonald's. Since they got Chicken Nuggets. And I like Chicken Nuggets.

But if anyone knows a better coffee shop that sells Chicken Nuggets, please tell me.
