Loving the psx item. Will there be a update so we can play with the analogue sticks at any point in the future? Would love to play some Ape escape.

Guitar hero 2 is the sequel to guitar hero the addictive music game with a awesome sound track.  And now with a battle mode to face up to a friend or a rival

Advice

If you like the guitar then play the guitar. Don't spend pretty much the same amount of time it takes to learn basic chords and chord progression on a real guitar just, to beat "Lenard Skinard's" free bird on expert mode on a five button plastic toy. Trust me on this one if you were good at this game but never felt you could play real guitar give it another go. I've been playing a classical Spanish acoustic six string for 3 years plus and I can tell you, if play for just 10-20 minuets a day (everyday)  and save a couple hours on your day off practicing the basic major and minor chords.  3 maybe 4 mouths you will be strumming along to some of your favorite tunes. Don't get me wrong i loved these games with a passion. I would play every day. But if i knew then what i know now i would have never played any of these games

Quick Review

Many people think  this game is a glorified air guitar but never the less it very enjoyable game that will get the heart pumping and educate the player in music from days of yesteryear and newer tracks from the 90's and 00's (  it came out in 2006)

This is a very Difficult game as it very hard to unlock the last set of songs.  It Will Take a lot of practice if your new to the franchise. But There are easer setting for all the songs

The game play has had not much of a change from he first one except slightly smoother compatibility with the guitar during hammers and pull offs.

Story is the same. Clime to the top of the music scene playing bigger venues with harder songs every 5 songs. There are different characters to choose from but it makes no difference witch one you pick. The same series of events unfold.

The track list witch is a big improvement on the first game as most songs are there originals not covers made for the game nut not as many blues tracks.  This time there are a lot more modern tunes like" beast and the harlot" by Avenge Sevenfold and "life wasted" by Pearl Jam. Personally i prefer the songs on the first guitar hero. But having "sweet child of mine" by Guns n Roses is just awesome. I think having that song makes the game a whole lot more commercial because who hasn't at one point of time wanted to be Slash.

Graphically this game isn't much to shout about. I'm not a fan of the characters animation. They look Chunky and have the same facial expressions all the time. Its hard to believe the digital band are actually playing the same song you are. The camera angles are nice though. Like watching a big gig on t.v or DVD.  Its a pity you cant play as a real  rock star like in the later games.

I cant say that there is much depth to this game. It is very repetitive but that is sort of the point of the game. You react to whats on the screen. the reward is playing in time to the music.

Over all its a fantastic second helping of the most unique added hardware game of the 2000's.
I would also like to say that i feel  think this game also showed the music industry that rock music still has a place in peoples hearts and helped  found a platform for it when traditional media was more promoting a new breed of manufactured POP music with The X factor and other reality t.v projects.

This is a compilation of tracks from the first 5 guitar hero games. A best of featuring all original tracks where ones may have originally used cover versions. Added bass, Drums and vocal modes available plus use of the new slider bar.  If your new to the guitar hero games or just want a collection of decent songs on one disk i recommend this one as the definitive version. number five i think lost its charm and 4 (world tour) had many great songs but many duds. There was also a mode to create your own original songs and share them buy this point.  plus 8 player vs modes, online battle/ co-op modes but no longer a need to unlock the songs as you go along.

Taking Rhythm games to the next level is rock band from EA witch introduces the use of microphone and drums to bring the ultimate multi-player experience to the the living room.

Overall- Love this game and it was the first game i bought for x box 360. This review is for the ps3 but there is no diffrence between the platforms as far as i can tell. With lots of songs and different modes its great 9/10

Graphics- Apart from the awsome intro video featuring deep purple highway star being preformed on the back of a pick up truck speeding down a american highway ( quite fitting when you think about it)  theirs not much to offer. just the usual scrolling of colors representing which notes have to be played to a artificual  crowd in the back ground...... 6/10

Sound- Awsome sound track
1960s
Rolling Stones "Gimme Shelter"
1970s
Aerosmith "Train Kept a Rollin'"*The Who "Won't Get Fooled Again"Boston "Foreplay/Long Time"Mountain "Mississippi Queen"*The Police "Next to You"David Bowie "Suffragette City"Black Sabbath "Paranoid"*Blue Oyster Cult "Don't Fear the Reaper"The Ramones "Blitzkrieg Bop"Deep Purple "Highway Star"KISS "Detroit Rock City"Molly Hatchet "Flirtin' With Disaster"The Outlaws "Green Grass & High Tides"*Sweet "Ballroom Blitz"*
1980s
Rush "Tom Sawyer"*Bon Jovi "Wanted Dead or Alive"The Clash "Should I Stay or Should I Go"Faith No More "Epic"Pixies "Wave of Mutilation"R.E.M. "Orange Crush"Iron Maiden "Run to the Hills"*
1990s
Foo Fighters "Learn to Fly"Metallica "Enter Sandman"Nirvana "In Bloom"Stone Temple Pilots "Vasoline"Weezer "Say It Ain't So"Smashing Pumpkins "Cherub Rock"Radiohead "Creep"Beastie Boys "Sabotage"Hole "Celebrity Skin"Garbage "I Think I'm Paranoid"Soundgarden "Black Hole Sun"
2000s
The Hives "Main Offender"Queens of the Stone Age "Go With the Flow"The Strokes "Reptilia"Jet "Are You Gonna Be My Girl"OK Go "Here It Goes Again"Nine Inch Nails "The Hand That Feeds"Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Maps"Red Hot Chili Peppers "Dani California"Coheed & Cambria "Welcome Home"Fallout Boy "Dead on Arrival"The Killers "When You Were Young"New Pornographers "Electric Version"
Plus lots and lots of downloadable content.

Addictivness- Its a very rewarding feeling when you can play on the harder modes and that makes it next to impossible to put it down sometimes. 10/10

Depth- I must say that The extra instruments make a big difference to how much this game has to offer. The drums are much more complex than the guitar and you will learn real drum beats for real songs. You can also play over music saved on your play station. Songs are at different difficulty setting for different instruments. You can achieve high scores to show how good you are. and you can download  many more songs from the PlayStation network. Each song has different parts of songs for the player to play guitar, base, drums and most have vocals and a choice between rhythm  and lead guitar

Difficulty- This is a game that relies on skill and the improvment that skill. Although there are different difficulty settings the songs get harder as you go along. Playing on expert mode will take several months of pratice if your new to these type of games or if you happen to  be a professional drummer.

Guitar Hero is the first of a new wave of music games released across many consoles and is still continuing now with rocksmith and rocksmith 2. The aim of the game is to play a small plastic toy guitar with 5 buttons on the freat bored each representing a color. on the other side of the guitar is a flipper and a whammy bar. on the screen colors of the buttons come towards you and the aim is to hit them in rhythm with the music.  For (almost)r each note you must flip the flipper.

Overall-  This was the game of my late teens early 20's. I found it very for filling. The mixture of classic rock music and button mashing is awesome. 10/10

Grapiccs- Not much to shot about. You get a 3D avita, crowd and gig veenue  on screen that you wont have time to pay attention to as your going to watch out for the notes you play.

Sound- Motorhead - "Ace of Spades"Ozzie Osbourne - "Bark at the Moon"Audioslave - "Cochise"Pantera - "Cowboys From Hell"Cream - "Crossroads"Sum 41 - "Fat Lip"Edgar Winter Group - "Frankenstein"Blue Oyster Cult - "Godzilla"Burning Brides - "Heart Full of Black"The Exies - "Hey You"Red Hot Chili Peppers - "Higher Ground"Joann Jett - "I Love Rock and Roll"The Ramones - "I Wanna Be Sedated"Bad Religion - "Infected"Black Sabbath - "Iron Man"Queen - "Killer Queen"Boston - "More Than A Feeling"Queens of the Stone Age - "No One Knows"ZZ Top - "Sharp Dressed Man"Deep Purple - "Smoke on the Water"Jimi Hendrix - "Spanish Castle Magic"Incubus - "Stellar"Megadeth - "Symphony of Destruction"The Donnas - "Take It Off"Franz Ferdinand - "Take Me Out"Stevie Ray Vaughn - "Texas Flood"White Zombie - "Thunderkiss 65"Helmet - "Unsung"Judas Priest - "You Got Another Thing Comin"David Bowie - "Ziggy Stardust .... nuff said
10/10

Addictiveness- Very hard to put down. Very hard. 10/10

Story- Pointless. You rise up the ranks every gig to become a rock god Earning cash and sponsors . Its done better with more detail in the sequels. 2/10

Depth & Difficulty- To progress to need to practice. A lot. And with such a great set list it has a lot to offer. there are 4 different difficulty settings which offers a lot of replay value trying to get to a standard where you can beat the last song on extra hard mode.  This takes a long time and practice........ 7.5/10

Eufloria is a tower defense game for the psn. The environment the battles take place is a 2D ambiguous landscape with what some may persevere as planets in a solar system with no sun. Others could look at it as cells of an organism. Just plain circles representing your team.  You have seeds that can be planted on the planets in order to take them over. On most of other planets their are opposing seeds  while others are empty waiting to be taken. Each planet has the ability to produce more seeds but planets that are over populated  wont. So you must move the seed around while keeping a eye on your enemies and form a strategic opinion  as to when the best time to strike and take over the map. There is 20 levels each getting more challenging.  Soon you face more than one opposing side and have other uses for your seeds like buying bombs and better seeds being produced on certain planets.   There is a multiplayer mode but i am not sure if its online only.

Overall- I like this game. its unique and it makes you think and plan ahead while sometimes making you change your strategy part way through most harder level's.  7/10

Graphics- O.k so the style is awesome, but its just ps1 graphics with better smoothing. Its all in 2D. No cut scenes.  For this ...... 2/10

Sound- Ambient relaxed chilled. The music goes with the game so well. The sfxs sound purposely like they are coming from far away which suits whats happening on the screen. This is by far the best aspects of the game. 9/10

Addictivness- I always had to play the next level. I did the whole game in three or fore sittings. The time to beat the levels increases in the later ones as they are much bigger. some take an hour or so. There are extra objectives adding to the replay value. 7/1o

Story- There practically isn't one. there are captions saying if something bad with a dit of drama in the language (i.e The green Serge has been found) but no reason of what makes them bad, This game had the potential to have a small story playing on the ambiguous nature of what the player perceives is going on    1/10

Depth- The mechanics of the game are simple but reading the factors is challenging. The levels get bigger  but the objective is always the same. Take over the map. The levels do take a lot longer to beat later on. And you have to mix up your strategy to win. 5/10

Difficulty- I Had to make several attempts at the later maps finding possession was very hard to control.  But the levles get harder as they go along so you do work your way up to be able to react to other teams attacks. Many games the tables were turned when victory was just in sight.

Zen Pinball 2

This is a fantastic example of how far we have come for the old days of the pinball simulators found on old pc's and game console's of the 1970's. While the 2D games from my youth will always have there charm i can now say digital pin ball has finally come to a standard where it feels like your playing on a real, well maintained pinball table. I have 18 tables out of the dozens of different tables that will be coming out over the years. so far there is around 50 i think. i have what looks like a third but new tables are released every few months. It is a multi-platform game so what ever console you own i highly recommend this one. whether  your a fan of flapping the flippers or perhaps your just fond of the many fun themes available to download. Ok so ill briefly break down my score.

Overall- The game play is simple but rewarding. Across all the tables the two objectives are the same.....Unlock all the different modes while getting as high as a score as possible. But How this is accomplished is unique to each table. I have 10 Star Wars, 4 Marvel and 2 South Park tables. Most will have missions where you recreate iconic Moments revelent to those tables franchise. Others have an excess of wizard modes (multiball)  as a way of racking up points. All have small mini games like shooting a blaster or blocking with a lighsaber using either the left or right flipper or the launch button.   This makes playing the game a lot more than just tryng to beat your on a friends score. 9/10

Graphics- At 1080p this is the nuts. there are 8 different views to chose from. they varied on how you would like the camera to follow the ball or the fixed angle you wish to view the table. i believe there is a option to play in 3D on a 3D tv but i have not tried it. it dose look like playing a real pin ball table visualy. with lots of detail put in on how you view the table. 8/10

Sound- I have mixed opinions on this one. The music no the star wars and south park tables is awesome. The voice overs for the last 4 star wars tables are bad. really bad. I almost made me regret buying it. The first dlc was a bit sketchy. I though for the most of it, it was genuine but when the second came out i realized i was wrong. By the third i felt that maybe they just couldn't be bothered to get good voice actors. thankfully the SP voices are from the tv show. No high pitched pops (when you get a high score) like the real arcade. other sfx are more true though.   7/10

Addictiveness-  Pin Ball is straight up one of the most addictive arcade cab nit games of all time. It was even banned in the usa during its hay day and the digital version is no different   With all the choice of tables you wont be board easy. And you will always want to do that little bit better next time... and next time... and next time.... Especially if your on a roll...get it .... "on a roll". 9/10

Story- The game dose not have its own story but it dose digress on the characters involved with in the franchise table  your playing. Most of the Marvel  tables are solely  based around main characters in that universe. Because of this... 7/10

Depth & Difficulty- I Have never beaten one of theses tables. I have respectable scores on the psn (top 100 on Boba Fett) but i could never see my self completing all the table objectives in one go. I wont go in to the mechanics of how most tables are clocked but you have to be highly skilled to pull something like that off. At the same time you are just hitting a ball around so.....8.5

Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2.

Overall- 9.3 .For me this gets such a high rating for the nostalgia of being able to play this title in all its full glory after nearly 13 years. Its the classic title that far surpasses the original pro skater 1 and has a lot more charm than its?sequel?Tony hawks pro skater 3. In fact I ?feel that this was the best in the whole series. Just the one player keeps me happy for hours.?

?Graphics-9. I found this Game works just Like my old N64 version if your using the mupen64 EMU. The1964?wasn't?to bad but I noticed the game would lag a second longer at times. If like me you prefer using a?control?pad the your?probably?better off using ?xpadder software to key map the?keyboard?too your pad, which I found real easy to do as I had never used it before. This is?necessary?as?there?is no key mapping for the mupen64 emulator (it say?double ?click for the menu. But?there's?no menu no any of the N64 games using this?particular?emulator).?Using?trial? and error I was able to map the keys and boom! It was like I was 13 -14 years old again, For a N64 game the?graphics?are the best you could hope for.

Sound- 10 (11 if I could) This game has a killer?soundtrack?with a?variety?of ?musical?genres?ranging from hip hop to skate punk. This is the first place I?heard?a rage against the machine song or jayz?rapping. The sound effects are fine I guess, but its all about the sound track.?

1."Rage Against the Machine - "Guerrilla Radio" ?2."Bad Religion - "You" ?3."Anthrax featuring Chuck D. of Public Enemy - "Bring The Noise" ?4."Powerman 5000 - "When Worlds Collide" ?5."Naughty by Nature - "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" ?6."Papa Roach - "Blood Brothers" ?7."The High and Mighty featuring Mos Def & Mad Skillz - "B-Boy Document 99" ?8."Consumed - "Heavy Metal Winner" ?9."Dub Pistols - "Cyclone" ?10."Swingin' Utters - "Five Lessons Learned" ?11."Styles of Beyond - "Subculture" ?12."Millencolin - "No Cigar" ?13."Alley Life featuring Black Planet - "Out With the Old" ?14."Lagwagon - "May 16" ?15."Fu Manchu - "Evil Eye" ?

Addictiveness- 6 ?so far I have played nearly every night this week. ?but not for long.?I'm?trying to savour this. About an hour or two at a time. The game?isn't?much good for replay value in my?opinion. Once?you've?clocked it its done. ?Iv only the one pad for my laptop so I have not played the?multilayer?games and I'm not a fan of making custom ?skate parks?so just a medium score for this one.

Story- 0?

Depth- 8 I?haven't?tried the skate park creator or the multilayer game so I cant say to much about that. But if your looking for a simple, not too easy, not too hard game to play in your spare time or if your just looking for a bit of nostalgia,?remembering?the good old days then I would well?recommend?this game to?play?in your spare time. It has plenty to offer and I have seen people finish all the levels in one go before so there's no telling how good someone can get at this game.

Difficulty-5. I had problems with the Rom at first but I managed to solve all the glitches so I give it a middle score?
