Well, I think it'd be best to ask her to accompany you to an event that's going on campus, if there's one going on. That's how I managed to hang out with this really pretty girl, as friends, for about 3 1/2- 4 hours, just doing events around school together. Albeit, it's a different scenario since, like you said, you see her during her work shift. If it's possible, I'd try to catch her when she's not working and then ask; that's what a few people have done while I worked at school. Hope this helps a little bit /o

legacyme3 : Well, your first part is true; there's no denying that comparing a sports game to a video game is fair. That's just something I blatantly overlooked

As for the part about the franchise molds, I can understand that you have more of a knack for sports games instead of Mario since you like sports. I personally don't think Mario falls under the CoD Syndrome you mentioned. There's no denying that they have made repetitive games, that's for sure, but we should also take into consideration that there are a few spin offs, such as Mario Party (even though I prefer the first 4 and wish the others could compare in my opinion), Yoshi's Island,  Mario Kart, and even Luigi's Mansion. When Nintendo isn't sucking us dry for their repetitive games, they try to add in something new or changing a major element of a game. One notable example is the new game specifically for Toad, called Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. As far as I can tell from a bit of gameplay, the biggest difference so far is that you have to explore a very small area and that you can't jump (coming from a game where the main character was originally named jumpman). Another example is Kirby's Epic Yarn, where instead of absorbing your enemy's powers, the player has to interact with enemies and the environment in order to progress.

I bring that huge paragraph to say this: Yes, Nintendo does use the same mold for their games sometimes, but I think it's only when they've completely failed on something when they use something familiar to their fans in order to stay at the top, like how the Wii U was a bit of a let down until Smash 4 came by (unless you had a 3DS and used that instead...then what would it matter? lol).

Legacy, just a question, but is your dislike of Mario from its current repetitive streak in such a small time, the similar formula used for many of the games, or both?

legacyme3 : I partially agree with you on that. Some games, such as the 2K series, the NBA series, and basically anything by EA Sports, produce the exact type of game EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Mostly the same teams, mostly the same stats, and mostly the same systems: 360/PS3. They're the same type of game, but people still buy them as if they've never seen a sports game before.
Where I somewhat disagree on this is not complacency, but similarities. I'll use Mario as an example. Ever since Super Mario 64, A LOT of the 3D Mario games have followed the same type of control scheme (I know this from watching game play and playing Super Mario Galaxy 2. I literally said "These controls are just like on the 64!"). Not only is the scheme similar, but so is the "story": Princess gets captured every time, Boswer is the culprit at fault nearly every time, Mario has to save her nearly every time, Luigi is living in Mario's shadow almost every time...It's the same type of formula. It becomes a different game by adding a few new features while staying true to its roots, in this case, in the form of new power ups or new challenge stages. The game still has the same end goal, but has a different approach of getting there, with new abilities and/or limits.
That's how I see it at least.

ender44 : Actually, that's spot on. Every sonic game that most people can agree are good are the games that stayed true to what we first loved about him in the first place: Pure speed. Games like the Sonic 1 and 2, Sonic and Knuckles, and Adventure 1 and 2 (with a mix of other mechanics that at some point remained true to what a sonic game should be like). Sega should take some notes from Nintendo on how to maintain a franchise.

As of lately, Sonic the Hedgehog hasn't been having that much of a good run lately. The last good game was...I dunno, perhaps 10+ years ago? (Excluding Generation, because, well...that was a good idea). But honestly, the last game, Sonic Boom, it just...it really killed Sonic for me. I get that there's some sort of progression that many franchises must go through, but you know there's something wrong with a franchise when they have to completely redesign everything we know about a classic character and how his games are designed. Before anyone says this, yes, I KNOW that Sonic Boom wasn't Sega's fault, it was...Big Red Button, I think. But do you guys think Sonic will make a comeback like his first few years of glory?

In my honest opinion, I DON'T think it matters as much if someone chooses not to aim for a higher education. What my father taught me is that all I need is a job that doesn't feel like a job; something that just comes natural (He's an engineer, all he does is inform people how to fix their computers and maintain networks mostly). He also told me that as long as I make enough money to pay the bills and tithe at church, then I should be fine. Now, since I want to become a vet and work with animals, I have to go through a higher education to do that. But what I'm ultimately aiming for is to work on animals and help them; the money is just a bonus to me.
I feel that many of us are urged to go to college in order to live well, but that could be due to our standards of what we should/shouldn't have. An example of this is how common it is to see the average person who has a flat screen television in his/her home. It used to be such a luxurious thing to have, but now it's something many people have. The same thing can be said about cell phones and laptops; expensive items that are now a common commodity.
My point to this rant is this; go to college if you're planning on living well and make sure it's something you LOVE to do.Also know that if you're satisfied with a job that doesn't require a bachelor's degree or even a high school degree, but you still pay every bill off and are satisfied, then who cares if you go or not?
Also sorry for the huge post

Since it's only a draft, the best thing you can do for this paper is to go by what comments your professor left and just as warmaker has said, just do the work ^^. However, for future papers, I suggest finding a friend who has an English major (or is working towards one) and ask him/her to check over your paper. That way, you get feedback on your work without repercussion and your friend can practice checking grammatical/punctual errors.

Bintsy : Thank you! Honestly, I've somewhat been missing Vizzed for a bit :c. College has been a real roller coaster of emotion, success, personal growth, struggle, and just plain learning. I'm sorry to hear about your aunt though :/ But many of the nursing majors have to take a bunch of tough chemistry courses, so if you're into chemistry you may enjoy it c: But it's up to you on what you decide ^^

gamerforlifeforever2 : I'm honestly glad to get a bit of reception from this little return post c: As for video game reviews, I'm planning on either doing a review of Pokemon Crystal, Megaman Battle Network 3, or a comparison of the first generation and second generation of Pokemon games; specifically, where both of these games shine and where they lack. But that's coming in the near future most likely.

Greetings, fellow...Vizz Villagers? I'm Ro.kerr, and I've finally returned from whatever dark hole I was living in!
Kidding, kidding. Really, I've been in my second year of college, and being the clear genius that I am, I decided to take calculus and physics together! Among those two classes and a slew of other mishaps and misfortunes, life has been keeping me quite busy. Really, no joke, college is fun but so much work too. If any of y'all care to know what's been going on, feel free to ask I don't know if it'd be more appropriate to respond here or in PM, but I'm up for anything anyhow. Since I (hopefully) plan to return here fully on some sort of routine schedule, I'll try to post more often on...well, whatever fancies my taste I suppose (though chances are, I'm probably gonna do more video game reviews, cause why not?). So yea, look forward to that :o

I'm not exactly a professional when it comes to animation, but I personally would just use GIMP. It is VERY tedious, but at least it's free software. I believe that you can make good quality work with free software so long as you put in time and effort. Here's a crappy animation that I put together:

Note: I do not own these sprites, background, etc. I simply used them as part of a project for educational purposes. Just throwing that out there lol.

I vote for Marvel. Sure, I like both DC and Marvel, but many of DC's characters are some sort of God or Demi-God or something. Many of Marvel's characters live ordinary lives, like Spiderman, until they get powers somehow. I won't say EVERYONE is relateable, but I'd rather have someone I could relate to rather than some near-perfect being *cough cough*superman*cough*
Though, I still do like Batman a lot c:

I was surfing youtube and came across a channel called LeeandLie. I personally love her voice and most of her cover songs, especially Bravery and Guren no Yumiya. One song from Spice and Wolf, called Tobi no Tochuu has really got me replaying it over and over (the acoustic version). What kind of songs do y'all like?

Just kidding lol. But seriously, I tend to remember pointless information, but I won't remember the 20 point question on my exam. When it comes to questions that aren't like the ones in the lesson, well...You just gotta answer the best you can

This isn't limited to only anime, or just television shows; it can be ANY CHARACTER. For my most intense character, I choose Sanger Zonvolt (Zengar Zombolt)! He is from Super Robot Taisen Original Generations 1 and 2. HE IS ZENGAR ZOMBOLT, THE SWORD THAT SMITES EVIL!! NOTHING STANDS IN HIS WAY!!
WHO IS YOUR MOST INTENSE CHARACTER?!

I personally like Kenshin Himura, from Rurounin Kenshin. In one of the first episodes, he shoved someone through the ceiling just for interrupting him. He's also considerate enough to use a reverse-blade sword, since he has too much speed
