All the Mario games on the Wii are fantastic, but I think the best Mario game I have played is Super Mario World on SNES or Super Mario 64.

WWF Wrestlefest is one of the finest old school wrestling games, released in 1991 by Japanese company Technos, who also made another fun wrestling arcade game WWF Superstars and they were also the great minds behind the Double Dragon series.

I remember spending all my pocket money (allowance) on this fine game at my local arcade, and constantly playing the Royal Rumble option,it is certainly the more entertaining game option.
There are 2 options to choose from in the game, there is the Royal Rumble, where you select a wrestler and try to be the last one remaining in the match, you can eliminate other wrestlers by pinfall or if you are lucky you can backdrop or bodyslam an opponent out the ring.A minor flaw in the Rumble is that there is a time limit, but if you had enough credits left then you could boost your time back up and your health bar.6 wrestlers are in the ring at one time and once someone is eliminated or disqualified as the commentator says then another makes his way down to the ring,it is all very well done and the Rumble is even more fun in a multiplayer option.

The second game option is Saturday Night's Main Event, where you select 2 wrestlers to make a tag team and go through other tag teams and try to beat the champions, the Legion of Doom, one of the greatest tag teams the WWF had to offer.
Now to get to the wrestlers you can play in this game, there are 10 to choose from, for some reason the Legion of Doom are not selectable, shame really because they are cool. But you do get Hulk Hogan,Ultimate Warrior,The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase(my favourite),Big Boss Man,Sgt. Slaughter,Jake The Snake Roberts,Mr Perfect,Earthquake and the tag team Demolition (Smash and Crush).

These characters were among the most popular in the WWF in 1991,but would of been nice to see the Texas Tornado or British Bulldog, but a good enough roster.
The gameplay is excellent, just button bashing really and with that you pull of some cool moves like suplexes, powerslams and backbreakers, and if you wear your opponent down enough you will do the wrestler's finishing move, like the Ultimate Warrior's Gorilla Press and Warrior Splash or one of the coolest finishing moves to watch,Earthquake's Vertical Splash.

The graphics for the time are superb, all the wrestlers look great, the Legion of Doom look very impressive in one of the game's cut scenes, but in the actual game the animation on all characters look very well made and look just like the real life wrestler,I might be selling the graphics too much here but I find them flawless in this game.
And finally, the sound, the commentary on the game is fun, with the commentator just saying all the moves being done by each wrestler ("Warrior bodyslam","Hulkster suplex") or a favourite quote of mine "Flying from the top rope!".

It's a shame the game was never released on a home console like the Super Nintendo or Sega Genesis, but some fine WWF games did get released on them, but nothing beats this one for me,this is one of the most entertaining WWF games I have played, thanks to it's excellent graphics, simple controls and great 4 player option.Recomended

An excellent WWF game, constantly played it as a kid on my SNES and constantly playing it again on this fine site.
Where to begin, well, first of all,the Royal Rumble is the best event the WWF ever produced,an event involving 30 wrestlers,it starts off with 2 and every 2 mins a new wrestler would join the match, and the only way to eliminate a wrestler is to throw them over the top rope of the ring and out onto the floor.
And that is basically how this game works out, except there are 12 wrestlers, and only 6 allowed in the ring at a time, and it's not every 2 mins, seems every few seconds, the action is fast and furious here!
The Genesis version of this game offered the legendary Hulk Hogan to select from but he is not available in this SNES version, but what you do get here is one of my favourite wrestlers of all time,Mr Perfect!
Also available to pick here is Bret Hart,Ric Flair,Yokozuna,Tatanka,Ted Dibiase,Razor Ramon,Crush,Macho Man Randy Savage,The Undertaker,The Narcissist Lex Luger and Shawn Michaels.
There are other options to choose from too, like one on one matches or tag team, but the game is Royal Rumble,so the Royal Rumble is the one to play really, loads of fun, especially in two player mode.
The graphics are decent on all wrestlers, good for 16 bit and nice sounds, but the grunts of the wrestlers can sound a little silly sometimes, but no flaws here really, just a fun and simple wrestling game.

Asterix games are always good fun,and here is one of the best,a simple side scrolling beat em up,go through each level bashing people about using either Asterix or Obelix, very fun and almost like the arcade game which had similar game play, some people find the button bashing beat em ups redundant, but one this good,I don't see how people could complain, recommended
