So I try to run FFA, for gameboy, using VizzedAEPgb, but whenever I try, it goes, white, after occasionally displaying a loading screen. Imac user, here.

Yes, Metroid (the original, not super, though I do plan to play that one as soon as 1: I get a windows again, or 2: I buy a SNES, and actually play it in a somewhat possibly non-emulated way) happens to be fun.
