I actually like Sora since he's such as a carefree person who seems he'd be fun person hang out. Also he's a complete rebel, not bowing down to so called authoritative figures like Yen Sid

Shovel Knight was a fun game that was probably the only indie  game that I enjoyed enough to finish and start a new game plus that I utterly failed at. It's a tough game that hankers back somewhat to the old days of yore, but it's not so difficult that you'll probably only really feel like throwing your controller (or handheld) until the later stages (or most of them in new game+). Shovel Knight is wonderous mix of beloved games from the nes days.

If you want classic style I'd personally start with Castlevania III since I found it more interesting than the first one. If want the exploration style, then you can't wrong with symphony of the night.

new things only work if they're needed and necessary. Like motion controls they were touted as the new way to play, but most of the time they were poorly executed. The vast majority of people would rather use a controller or a keyboard and mouse. Also whose idea was it to not include backward compatibility in the PS4? Their alternative, Playstation Now, is just dumb where you pay monthly subscription to play a last gen games via streaming, which makes for a horrible experience. Playstation plus is dumb as well since once your subscription is up you can't play any of the games you bought with playstation plus, and you can't play multiplayer. Another dumb thing is the suggestions in the store where playstation shows you titles you might like because you played a certain game. But these suggested games for the most part have nothing to do with the game you were playing. For example Playstation suggested that I buy Bloodborne or Mortal Kombat X because I played LittleBig Planet 3.

History because I got to learn about our past, and I was also made aware of the many atrocities we committed. This in turn can cause me to become deeply angered and believe that the human race is the worst atrocity in existence, and makes me want go back to the point in time when the common ancestor was alive and destroy it.

Let's face facts Luigi is better than Mario. He can jump higher than Mario, can walk on water, can defy gravity, and in the case of Smash Bros. launch himself like a rocket.

Boxia : I feel not sorry for those people that are still being suckered by the mobile gaming market. What's worse still is that Konami (and probably other publishers) said that mobile gaming is future, but I say if that is the future then it is a dystopian future. So Fudge Komai (see what I did there? I censored myself).

I recently deleted Warframe from my PS4, and if you're actually wondering why, we'll it's because it pulls the freemium crap. I will admit that I had fun with the game with the few days that I actually owned it. I enjoyed the diverse mission structure of the game, and the mods you can equip on your warframe and their weapons to boost their capabilities. I also like that you can unlock almost every essential piece of the game through in-game currency and crafting. However, that is a lot of free to play games start to flatter, where you're forced to grind for resources on various then wait for X amount of hours to get the thing you want. What's worse though is that certain resources are in locked off regions, which can only be unlocked by defeated a boss. But wait you have to have a mastery rank of five to unlock boss missions. How do raise your mastery rank you ask? Well, you go to your profile icon to see if you qualify, but if you don't just do more grinding to get enough points to qualify. Oh wait, you can only take the rank up test every 24 hours, and failing a test means also waiting 24 hours. Now, I could have been submissive to game and just payed money to buy everything, but I said no, I am sick of free to play games doing to this kind of crap. Traditional gamers like myself are forced to grind and wait through timers for days to get thing we want. Then, there are those that just outright buy all of their stuff because they're sick of the grind and want to play with friend who have cool stuff. Well, to me those people are no better than cheaters. I consider it sad in gaming today that you can just pay money to make your character better. That doesn't matter in a single player game, but in multiplayer that sort of thing isn't any better than cheating to me. Now, I am fine with microtranscations in games as long as they don't get in the way, and if the progression in the game fast enough. But games like Warframe make progression slow enough that you just want to submit and pay the money to unlock stuff automatically. Too many so called "Free to Play" games pull this "dangling a slab of meat in front of a starving person" in order to make people submit and throw their money at the game. I understand needing to pay for the game's continued support, but I think making progression in the game so slow to eventually make people use those microtranscations is just wrong. Now, there are the rare Free to Play that have microtranscations for just cosmetics not equipment, and the in game progression is smooth. An example of that sort of game would be Path of Exile, a game where I was able to get to Act III without feeling that I had to pay money to progress fast enough unlike say Warframe. Now, how about you good folks tell me your woeful tales of freemium

Intro
I've never played Warlock before, in fact, I've never even heard of it before in my life before I seeing at this site. Naturally, the name Warlock gave me feelings that this game would be an incredible magical adventure. Well, I was wrong, so very wrong, and I am going to tell just why I was wrong.

Story

Honestly, there isn't much of story talk about here. The gist of it is that you are some sort of sorcerer that is collecting six magical stones in order some evil sorcerer. That is literally what the entire story is, which may be alright for some people, but not me. In my eyes if you do something in the fantasy you should put a little my depth in the story. I mean there are these storybook bits that tell you are going, but these bits do only just that: tell you where you're going. They don't convey any more information about the evil sorcerer, or even yourself. And I can’t say that the graphics are much better.

Graphics
While I found the sprites to be fairly detailed and fairly animated I couldn't help notice the repeated use of sprite sheets across every level. Seriously, there are levels in the game that have the same sprites as another level with only a slight deviation. The level design lacks any great variety, which is rather disappointing since Dracula X (released the same year as this) has greater variety in its level design. It just makes me think that the artists got lazy when doing level design. But, compared to some games released in same time frame, Warlock is somewhat better looking that suffers from a lack of variety in its level art. Unfortunately the sound fares worse than the graphics.

Sound

Now I won’t say that the sound effects is this game is bad because they’re not, they’re actually kind of nice for the Super Nintendo. Even the music has a nice organic theme to it. However, the huge issue with the sound is that the levels have the same music track. So you’ll be listening to the same old organ music over and over again throughout the entire game. However, the gameplay fares worse.

Gameplay
Warlock is a platformer of sorts, however, just like is the Prince (of Persia), your character's movement are rather clunky. Now, the goal of which is to collect six stones by going through a variety (and I use the term loosely) of stages. The whole game is a straight line with no deviation from your goal; no worthwhile secrets to uncover. Your character can also shoot magic bolts as their main attack, and use an orb that can be used as an attack enemies or grab items. However, do not count on the orb for anything much than grabbing spells. This in due to the fact that you have to first “charge” the orb in order to launch, but most enemies move faster than the orb. Now, the spells are fairly unoriginal; they’re the typical small heal, large heal, and smart bomb that one would akin to beat ‘em ups. The only exception to this is the rare crystal, which protects the wizard whilst dealing damage. There also this rather worthless time reversal spell that sends you back to a certain point in the level. But Honestly though, there isn’t any special about this game, but what’s worse is that Warlock is boring. There exceptions to the rule that a game has to be special to be fun, but Warlock is definitely not one of them.

Conclusion
Warlock is an outright boring game. With a poor story, a monotonous soundtrack, and sluggish gameplay making up the boredom of this game. Of course, I can’t be surprised that Warlock is such a mediocre game since it’s loosely based off the movie from 1989 of the same name. With that fact known and that this game is bad only cements my view that movie licensed games are terrible.

Okay, so I started playing Megaman X, but the game image is off center when using the regular plugin window. I mean I can't even bosses' health bar in the regular plugin window. I can see everything when I go fullscreen, but the issue is that the game image is off center when using the regular window. The same thing is happening to me when with playstaion and gba. I am not sure what happened.

Once again Gex has another game, which is amazing to me considering how the past games were. Now, I never actually physically owned any of the previous games, but I did own this one. I remember enjoying Gex 3 back when I was younger, but views can change with time. With that being said I will give renewed views on Gex 3.

Story

Okay, so I guess Gex is rich now considering that he has own turtle butler and owns his own small island (I think, I'm not entirely sure). Anyways, some new character named Agent Xtra has been captured and trapped in the media dimension by Rez. But, the thing about Agent Xtra is that despite being new character the game gives you little consolation about who she is and how she and Gex know each other. Another thing about her is that she is a pure FMV character, and I am not talking about 3D FMV, no, I'm talking about live action FMV. Lastly, She only appears when you beat a level for the first time during which, she says a pun regarding the level to which Gex replies with flirtation dialogue. Oh, and if the whole Sonic and Princess Elise romance disgusted you, then the romance between Gex and Agent Xtra will make you wretch. Okay, now moving on to something less horrifying, the graphics.

Graphics
The graphics, honestly, haven't gotten any improvements. I mean, maybe the textures have improved a tiny bit, but they would so minuscule that you probably wouldn't notice. Not to mention it still suffers from that irritating thing of the textures shifting everytime you move Gex or the camera. Also the images used for the projectiles are rather poor, having rather bold black outline. But, the models are still good enough for the cartoony style of the game. Likewise, Gex also gets a different costume for each level, which is kind of neat. And like the graphics themselves the sound doesn't really improve much at all.

Sound

The sound effects are still actually pretty good. They’re fairly well designed for the comedic style of the game. The music also fits itself very well to the theme of the level, such as this christmas themed level having this typical old christmas film music. However, the offense that I found in the game’s sound is Gex himself. He keeps saying these stupid lines that you won’t be able to get unless you understand the reference. It gets extremely annoying very quickly, and makes you want to hit Gex. But, the gameplay does fare little better than Gex’s talking.

Gameplay
Gex tries again to copy Super Mario 64, though thankfully the selection area is much improved from the previous game with great variation in the entire environment. Even the goals are more improved from the previous game with them being more fun, such as having to do these three mini-games at different locations to earn the remote. Additionally, Gex can collect gecko prints to increase his maximum health found throughout the selection area and levels themselves. There are also these bonus coins that Gex can collect to unlock bonus level, which are just stupid coin collect-a-thons. Oh, but you can get different characters for those levels, which sounds cool right? Well, it’s not because all those characters are just different looking clones of Gex. Luckily though, the power-ups have reverted back to how they worked in the first game. There are also these costume power-ups that can grant Gex either super strength or flight. However, power-ups in this game are very rare unlike how it was in the first game. As well Gex still feels a bite stiff when jumping, which causes the entire game to have mediocre platforming. The boss fights are also disappointing, and they are unique from each other but none of them stand out. In fact, none of the game stands out, at least not in a entirely positive way.

Just like Gex 2 Gex 3 was a chance for improvement, which it kinda is. But, despite additions like health increase or improvements like better goal design the core issues still stand. Gex is still the most annoying character (besides Bubsy) I’ve ever seen in gaming, and the platforming is still stiff with a bad camera. I can only thank every deity ever that this was the last game in the series.

Intro
The sequel to Gex, Gex: Enter the Gecko is a fully 3D title that was ported to both the Nintendo 64 and the Playstation. The following review will be on the Playstation port due to the handful of issues experienced on the N64 port. Now, I reviewed the first game, finding to be a mediocre. I played its sequel in the hopes that it had been improved. Well, I'm here to tell if it did just that.

Story
There really isn't much to say about story in this game as there is barely any to begin with. Basically, after the events of the first game Gex is relaxing watching TV at home. That is until two government goons capture and tell to go after Rez in the media dimension. Gex eventually agree and goes into the media dimension. That's the story really, and like I said it's barely a story, and the graphics don't fair much better.

Graphics
The graphical quality in Gex 2 is fairly decent. The models are good enough for the game's somewhat cartoony style. The textures on the other hand range from pretty good to mediocre. However, the textures suffer from the same issue plaguing all Playstation titles by Crystal Dynamics: shifting textures whenever you move. But maybe a bit worse than that is that Gex isn't textured at all. There is no detail at him, he's just his basic model colored. Thankfully though, the sound fares much better.

Sound

The music also fits itself very well to the theme of the level, such as this horror themed level having this typical old horror film music. It gets extremely annoying very quickly, and makes you want to hit Gex. But, the gameplay does not fare much better than Gex’s talking.

Gameplay
Gex 2’s gameplay is basically the first game’s gameplay but in a 3D plane. And once again Gex tries to copy Mario, though this time it’s Super Mario 64. You able to run freely in  a large area and select any level you wish with the next area locked until you defeat the boss. You even have to select a goal for that selected level just like Super Mario 64. But unlike that game, Gex is terrible at making itself feel vibrant. The selection area is utterly boring as it is utterly unvaried unlike Peach’s castle. Goal selection is also boring as there is no sound, unlike Mario 64 which had rich sound with its goal selection. The level goals are also limited to three, and all of them amount to ‘go to this place’ or ‘destroy this thing’. Levels also have two secret remotes, one that involves collecting a bunch of coins, the other must be found. Another disappointment  I mean Super Mario 64 basically does the same thing, but Gex doesn’t have the acrobatics of mario for more fun platforming. Gex 2 also some pretty bad camera angles that can make you miscalculate your jumps. Gex also can no longer crawl on any surface, though being able to crawl on any surface would make the levels awfully short. Power-ups are also reduced significantly, such as fire fly just causes Gex to set fire to wherever he goes. Thankfully though, you can’t kill flies with your tail whip anymore. Another disappointment I had with the game is that boss fights weren’t very creative like it was in the first game. Only the penultimate boss and the final boss are the only good boss fights. In fact, this game isn’t very good at all.

Conclusion
Gex 2 could’ve of been a chance for Crystal Dynamics to improve upon the poor parts of the first game. Unfortunately though, they didn’t really improve much of anything. The graphics are only fair for the playstation, which is obviously capable of so much more. The comedy of the game is way too reliant on pop culture references, and the fact that Gex himself is extremely annoying. The platforming is also pretty stiff unlike the acrobatic Super Mario 64, which Gex 2 is obviously is aspiring to be like. Gex 2 is poor platformer that relies too much on pop culture references and its aspiration to be like Mario.

I can remember this game from the days of when I actually owned an original playstation. At the time, though, I didn't play it at all, but my older brothers sure did. I can't give my thoughts from way back when since I don't really remember much from those days. However, playing and beating the game now, I can give you my thoughts on the game.

Story
Now, I will assume that everyone reading this review has beaten Blood Omen. If you haven't beaten that game yet, get out of here right now cause what I'm about to say will ruin the ending of that game for you. Okay, moving on. If you remember in Blood Omen after Kain is revealed to be the new balance guardian, he was given the choice to sacrifice himself to restore the pillars, or choose self-preservation. Well, he chose the latter, which caused the pillars to collapse and in turn plummet Nosgoth into decay. After his choice, he started to build a vampire empire, and it’s explained later how he resurrected the race. But, centuries pass and his empire has grown significantly with everyone fearing Kain. However, one day, one of his lieutenants, Raziel, shows that he is growing wings. Cain in response to this rips them off and has his other lieutenants cast Raziel into the Abyss, a giant whirlpool (remember water is acid to vampires). But, Raziel resurrected as a wraith and soon sets out to get revenge against Kain. Yes, the story is a simple revenge story, but it is uplifted by the game’s incredible dialogue and voice acting. In fact, almost the entire story is told through dialogue, but it is done so well that you can how far Nosgoth fallen into depravity. The visuals also help to sell the story.

Graphics

Before I talk about the game’s actual in-game graphics I have to talk the intro fmv. Usually, fmv’s from the original playstation days were pretty crummy looking, but Soul Reaver’s fmv is the best one I’ve ever seen. In fact, It is the most detailed fmv I have ever seen since those days. But, I should be talking to you about the game’s actual graphics. Soul Reaver’s graphics share similarities between, any game made by Crystal Dynamics, which means it has almost the same issues that addressed in my Akuji review. The textures look nice and everything, but they have that unfortunate side effect of shifting around when you move the camera or walk. Thankfully though, unlike Akuji, the game is well lit. But, the graphics are just one half of a game’s presentation the other half is the sound.

Sound
The voice acting is incredible in this game with the returning voice talents of Simon Templeman and Tony Jay. I found that none of the voice acting to be subpar, all of the talents were very good. The sound effects are also very well done. The music is also pretty good though I thought that it sounded a little muffled at times. However, the most important part of the game is of course the gameplay.

Gameplay
Soul Reaver is an action adventure game unlike its predecessor. In that sense the rpg elements that were in Blood Omen are gone. You play as Raziel, Kain’s former second-in-command who Kain executed, but has been resurrected seeking revenge. Raziel is a wraith, so his abilities differ from Kain. First and foremost is that he can consume the souls of his enemies to regain health. He also has the ability to shift between the material realm and spectral realm. Shifting is useful for retreating from a battle to get souls in the spectral realm, and traversing the landscape with his gliding, as structures change size when in the spectral realm. However, while you can shift from the material realm to the spectral realm at any time, you can only shift back using these portals at full health. Speaking of health, if Raziel loses all of his health he’ll automatically go to the spectral realm, but if he loses all of his health there he’ll be sent to the beginning. But, the difficulty of the game is reduced to the shifting since he easily regain his health in the spectral realm. Raziel will also as you go through the story will gain new abilities, such as climbing on certain walls and telekinetic projectiles. Most of the abilities that Raziel throughout the story are used mostly to get into areas that were otherwise unreachable. Reaching these areas will possibly garner you the chance to get a health power-up, eldritch energy power-up, or glyph. Health power-ups will increase Raziel’s health after five have been collected. Eldritch energy power-up increase Raziel’s eldritch energy, which in turn power your ability to use glyphs. Glyphs are essentially just area of effect attacks that can have different effects depending on the glyph used. These can be useful when you wish to incapacitate the enemies to retreat into the spectral realm, or later in the game use them to destroy enemies. Though you probably won’t find yourself using them often, until late in the game. These are just one of the tools at your disposal when combating your enemies. The combat in Soul Reaver is probably my favorite part of the game. Combat consists of dodging an enemy’s attacks whilst hitting them with Raziel’s claws or a weapon that you’ve picked up. However, striking an enemy a bunch will not kill them (unless they’re human) it will only be stunned. From there you have to finish them off by impaling them with a weapon. You can throw them on a wall spike, into water, or sunlight. But, grabbing and holding is frustrating since Raziel does not seem to want hold enemies long enough for you to get near anything. Finally though, you can incinerate your enemies. However, impaled enemies will return to life if you pick up the weapon from their body. Same goes for drowned enemies if the water can be drained. So, in order to permanently kill those enemies you have to consume their soul before it disappears. However, you can gain the wraithblade to destroy your foes, but it can only drawn with full health. You also gain a ranged attack to deal with enemies. It also helps to solve a couple of the game’s puzzles. The puzzles in Soul Reaver could be summed up with one word: blocks. Seriously, pretty much 98% of the puzzles are block puzzles. However, later block puzzles will call for you to get them to a higher platform, and even move them from a distance. The rest of the puzzles are primarily switch-based. The game’s boss fights are more or less puzzles, as you do not directly combat, which make for the most interesting boss fight I’ve done. For example, there is one boss where you have to get behind a gate while leading the boss towards it. You pull and hold a lever to keep open, then drop on the boss just as it enters. But, lack of intriguing puzzles doesn’t make Soul Reaver anything less.

Despite the loss of the RPG elements, Soul Reaver is still a good game. With fantastic voice acting, great story, and innovative combat. The boss fights were also interesting since they felt more like little puzzles than the typical ‘hit this thing till it’s dead’. However, the game’s puzzles are a bit subpar compared to the features that are offered. In the end, though, Soul Reaver is a great entry in the Legacy of Kain series.
