Uh oh! Got attacked... Been out for a little over a day. Let's see what I can do.

I'd like to buy 5 Pokeballs as my first action.

Second action - since I have an Old Rod, can I use it now? If not, I'd like to buy 5 potions and end it here.

Two weeks ago as we were traveling, my girlfriend, her sister (a lesbian), her sister's girlfriend and I went to a combination KFC and Taco Bell. My girlfriend's sister (we'll call her Sherry; she looks somewhat like a boy) and her girlfriend (code-name Alice) gave each other a hug and a kiss, and some employees (All of them were African American) told them to "get a room." They ordered, and then my girlfriend and I ordered ours, and she ordered something else for Sherry and referred to her as "she." The lady at the register rudely stated, "that's a SHE?" and then started laughing, despite the fact that neither of us were laughing. A while later, as we received our order (despite requesting to dine in, they gave our stuff in to-go containers), Sherry went up to get some sauce and they explicitly told her that "she can wait." Sherry's got some anger problems, but I'm really proud for coming back and telling us, because I finally walked up there with my girlfriend and demanded the sauce and other things (I was more firm, but not disrespectful), received it promptly, and left.

Since thing1 is banned and this thread hasn't activity in over two weeks, I'm going to close it since it really contributes nothing to the dialogue (despite attempts to make that happen).

play4fun : I'm glad you like the European History. I took a class on it my freshman year of college, so almost five years ago now, but I still remember a lot from that class. It's something I might revisit again soon.

As far as your question is concerned, it's a combination of the two (you'll notice that I just liked your post). I think of it a little like Facebook, where I'll like someone's comment on my status because they say something insightful (or just downright entertaining) that adds to what I have already posted. The same is true for other people's statuses. But I can't lie, I do feel a little good when someone agrees with me on something. It's not something that I will abuse per say, but if your comment is good, agreeing with me is just a bonus.

geeogree : Do I expect it? No. But you know, I think that someone, somewhere will take the hint and eventually turn out to be an excellent poster. I was reading through David's thread about it, and I really like the idea of giving some actual incentive to make quality posts and creating a "punishment" for not-so-quality posts.

On another point I was thinking that there could be a few boards where the feature could be disabled. For instance, the New User board or the reviews board. Disliking a New User right off the bat because their grammar isn't perfect or whatever could run more than a few users off. On the other hand, liking their stuff could motivate them to post more, so that may or may not be moot. More importantly, though, I think the Review section should be at least looked at. We can already rate reviews, but if I give feedback on a somewhat poorly written review or even a good one that could use work and the user takes offense, they could easily retaliate. Does that bother me? Eh, only in that I'm trying to be helpful and it gets spit back in my face, but it's not something I would ask or expect David to do if the coding takes any longer than 5 minutes to mess around with.

I like this feature in that I can reward users for great posts. What I dislike about this feature isn't actually the feature, but the fact that the people who get a lot of dislikes will complain about it as opposed to taking a hint and realizing that they aren't posting so hot. I think the exploitation complains are generally unwarranted, because anything and everything can be exploited, and even if it is, what harm does it to do you if play4fun or geeogree gets 25 likes from one or two users? And if you get a dislike? Uh oh. Someone disagreed with you or you had a moment (or series of them). Get yourself back on track. Think about what you post, proofread it, and understand that not everyone is going to agree with you or like what you have to say, so even if you construct a beautiful peace about wishing for the return of the kingdom of Prussia, there might be a German here who dislikes your comment. Don't be so sensitive. By telling us what you think, you have opened yourself to scrutiny by others. If you don't like it, then your best bet is to keep to yourself.

play4fun : Here's a crude screenshot of the feature here. I obviously circled it in red, just to clarify for others who might not see it. If you're not seeing it still, then I'm not sure what's going on... I guess we'll need some pitchforks and torches to bust down David's door!

You're improving big time, buddy. I'm really impressed with this review. Other than a few grammatical/mechanical errors and you still finding your writing voice, this is a good piece of work. One bit of advice, though. While I know that your overall score doesn't have to be the exact average of your other scores, I believe that it should have been lower considering you only gave it one 10. For what you scored it, I think a 9 to about 9.4 would make more sense. That being said, the rating system is a little strange anyways, and it doesn't take into account some other factors that people like games for, like nostalgia and charm. Still, I really think you've done well with this.

I think there are allegations against thing1 for performing-enhancing drug abuse that need to be seriously weighed before we officially declared a winner.
