Oh hey... are you sure you don't have any offsite URLs in the layout? That will stop it from being submitted and just act like you hit preview. You should check the errors section to see if it's reporting anything. Also tag errors sometimes stops it. Take a good look over that. This has gotten me in the past.

What's wrong is you have a crappy computer :x

Seriously... that's all it really boils down to. Your computer can't handle the load of trying to record and play at the same time.

Mine is kinda on the weak side too, but Mednafen doesn't really lag too much while recording for me (except on SNES games for some reason).

I suspect that once I put together my new computer that I ordered the parts for, it won't lag at all no matter what, because that computer has pretty good specs.

...Why would you want to press the up and down directions at the same time anyway? It kind of makes sense for them to cancel each other out considering they're opposite directions o.o

In fact if you picked up an actual controller and tried this... you would find it impossible because d-pads don't go two ways at the same time :p

I'd say the emulator is replicating this properly.

Yeah... I'd imagine tracking something like that would pretty much break the site. We have so many things tracked as it is and it sometimes ends of straining the servers... imaging logging and displaying EVERY transaction for EVERY user.

dragon111 : That post is very off-topic. You could have used a PM or profile comment to ask that question. It doesn't belong in this thread.

Also closing this because the question has been answered and I'd like to not have further spam in it.

Let's gather some information. Have you tried multiple game systems or just one? If you've only tried one, which?

How long do you wait before deciding it's not gonna load and force quitting?

What browser are you using?

Do you have the RGR plugin installed?

Do you have Microsoft .NET framework installed?

Lazlo Falconi : I can't do the 360 controller. I have REALLY small hands.

Anyway on topic... I got it on like ebay or Amazon or something, so no... can't contact the manufacturer. Also I doubt PlaySega actually ever had a warranty on these controllers because they literally gave them to subscribers for free (if you didn't know PlaySega, is basically a crappy version of Vizzed with only select games for some Sega systems on Java-based emulators).

rcarter2 : This is typically true... though for that price, I had to at least try it.

I know Sega released authentic Saturn USB controllers and PS2 controllers for a limited time in the past, but those are impossible to find now except for the occasional Ebay auction asking for $200+

I would never pay more than $50 for a controller, honestly and even that's a bit high for my tastes. I don't believe quality needs to be THAT expensive.

A lot of people recommend getting an original Saturn controller and using an adapter to go to USB... but my hesitation about this is that all Saturn controllers are going to be used and could be so well-worn that I won't get much more life out of them than this... and on top of that, they're going to be $30 or more. I don't mind paying $8 for a controller that breaks in 1-2 months nearly as much as I would paying $30 and having a button wear out right away,

Maybe it's just me... but I've always liked the controller design Sega had going with their 6-button Genesis controller and then later the Saturn version of that. To me, it was the perfect controller as far as its shape and button layout... very comfortable for me.

I mentioned this in a post a month or two back here on Vizzed and was told about the Play Sega USB controllers that were based on that Saturn design I liked. It seemed like it would be the perfect PC controller, so I went out and immediately ordered one.

When it came, it seemed like the best thing ever. It was only like $7 or $8 but it had everything I wanted in a controller (except maybe a select button). It was 100% plug-and-play no drivers or extra software needed. Not only did it configure to my games easily but it even matched the layout of RPG Maker so well that every button lined up correctly without configuration, making it seem like the perfect controller for that as well.

I began using it for all of my PC gaming as it seemed to serve the task very well... that is until just now. I was in the middle of playing Spiral Knights when I found my character suddenly unable to move right. This pretty much got me killed in the game. I tried unplugging and re-plugging it in and even restarting. I went to Windows Game Controllers area to test input reading... every single button and direction reads EXCEPT "right" on the d-pad. So the controller is effectively useless now.

I loved it at first but now I hate it. Even at the small price tag, I don't think it was worth buying considering how short of a lifespan it had. I don't even play video games THAT often to wear it out so easily. It's just really poorly made. I was told that Sega themselves makes this which extremely disappoints me because I expected much better from them. If this lasted maybe 5 or 6 months, I'd be satisfied, but I'm not sure if I've even had it for two yet and it's already useless.

While this may just be a fluke, I'm not really willing to take a chance on buying another and seeing if I have any better luck and I wouldn't advise anyone else take a chance on this controller. Just avoid this piece of junk and buy something else. After all, Play Sega kinda gave these things away for free, so it's hard to say how much effort they put into making them.

Yeah, if it's before someone's time, chances are they won't know about it :p

But yeah, I'd love to help if you get to a point where you can do the project again. I remember when I used to do stuff in Flash... it was a lot of fun getting together sprites and animating them and adding music/sound effects and whatnot. It sounds like it'd be a great project to work on and even better to experience the finished product.

Wow... I've never heard of Flash Bash until now but it sounds awesome... I hope you can get the needed donations for it. Also, if I can help in any way for it, let me know. I can do stuff like obtain/modifying sprites and other graphics as well as sound/music ripping/remixing. I also can technically use Flash to do stuff... but I'm no expert and don't know a lot of Action script (have made interactive sprite-based Flash movies before though).

Is it just the default keys you're having trouble with? Have you tried setting custom keys? Will it accept any input in the key config?

Also, what emulators are giving you this trouble?

zelda2 : In this case, I'd actually like to see if the original poster had all her questions answered before closing.

Totts : If you can confirm whether or not your questions were properly answered (and you understand the answers), that would be great.

IT-related questions can be difficult at times, so it's not nice to just go abruptly closing threads because they have been "answered" when the topic creator never had the opportunity to acknowledge the replies and ask for clarification on them if needed. This isn't a case where it's a question that has been asked 20 times already.

Thread remains open for the time being.

If you want to create a Flash game, you should be using Adobe Flash. While it's not your only option (because third-party knockoffs do exist), it's literally designed for the task. The knockoffs may lack important features or have compatibility issues, so I don't advise using them if you want to make something full-featured.

Now of course, Flash costs an arm and a leg to buy since it's intended for businesses and professional web designers. It actually didn't use to cost so much... but since everyone began pirating it, they had to jack up the price for those who HAD to buy it legally. Only way they could stay afloat.

The best price you can probably get on Flash Professional is $199 on a student discount if you were attending a recognized college.

Failing that, here are some alternatives that you can look into if you at least want SOMETHING that can output .swf files that you can fiddle with in the meantime...

OpenLaszlo (Open source, should support .swf exporting)
Stencyl (Possibly free, should be capable of making Flash-like games)
SWiSH - This is most people's go-to for replacing Flash. It's significantly cheaper even at its highest-end version, though not free. If you dig around the site, you can get SWiSH miniMax for about $70. Not as powerful as the higher end version, but probably sufficient for the needs of a beginner.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
