Glad you enjoyed it. That kind of scared me the first time I saw it. All I could think is,"That will be accurate one day."

I'm not really a fan of text speak, but as long as I can understand it with ease I don't care to read it. I prefer to take the long route and properly type my messages out with correct grammar. Other than extremely minor mistakes which almost no one who uses English would even notice (and extremely excessive use of parentheses), I like to keep my grammar and communication as clear as possible. Obviously I'm guilty of the occasional "lol" or "brb" and the like, but who isn't ya know?

As for the emoji's, I don't use them very often, but I don't mind anyone who does. The people who spam them like crazy are annoying, but other than that, like most things, I'm pretty indifferent to it. The only time I use them on a near consistent basis is when I'm talking to the girl I'm with / trying to get with, since the ladies generally seem to appreciate the extra gesture lol ( not that I need it, with my smooth moves and all XD ). I'll admit I use   and XD a decent amount, and use them more often in comment boxes / chat rooms, but that's about it.

I just feel like it's better to stay in good form because it's better to know it and not need it, than to need it and not know it

I love emoticons! It's probably quite obvious. lol However, I don’t tend to use text speak (liek srsly?) and 1337 speak (that's a little too OTP for me). Sure I can speak like I'm 13, but when I was 13 years old, I spoke and wrote way more formally than this. rofl In fact, I didn't even know what rofl meant. -.-0 Ikr? Just feeling kinda ancient now... Anyways, I learned to use smileys for the web and particularly for gaming because it's way to easy to misunderstand other people without them sometimes.

They have been part of the Internet since they were created. I enjoy an emoji here and there; they can be a good complement to a text and can sometimes carry emotions better than words. However I think it's getting a little exaggerated nowadays. Political correctness is such that now emojis must come with all imaginable skin tones instead of just being yellow or another non-human color.

I know, people always look for an easy way or a cute way to say things. And like I said,in the early days of texting you had text size and number of texts limits,so shortcuts like brb were a necessity.
