Eirinn :

Did you think I was exaggerating? This is the green flower event!!

The fact that they're bringing back unmemorable characters like Reina and Cam in the new harvest moon game is the number one reason that I'm not really all that interested in it. When I saw the cast of A new beginning and how diverse the cast and costumes were I knew I'd love it--and they ended up breaking expectations on occasion! The new crew? Everyone is pretty. Yay? NeppyLeet is furious that they didn't bring back the guy she fell head over heels for in ToTT (Ash) in the new game as opposed to pretty bland bland lady and Reina. Sure it's fun to marry someone pretty, but it's much more fun to be marry someone who has fun cutscenes with! Like who would suspect a dominatrix magical girl in a harvest moon game? 8D (her name is Michelle)

OOOH Fun fact! According to some dialogue in the Nintendo 64 you have with Karen, Eve is her grandmother. Which makes total sense because it had been so long from the original cast appeared! However, the cast appears again in Harvest moon Magical melody, which means that when you play as the boy in the HM:MM and as the guy in the original, you actually are grandpa. It's your own farm that you take over in HM:64! However, when the game Back to Nature came out Yasuhiro Wada assigned the game to the people that had created the harvest moon game boy games and as a result instead of it being an updated version of HM64 it had different personalities and names (such as Maria -> Mary) than he had originally envisioned. Since it was too late to make it more like HM:64 by the time that Wada found out about it he said it was a parallel world to harvest moon 64. The Harvest Moon games in mineral town are in fact a remake of the universe from back to nature and also the one that the characters remain as in other games (such as their cameos in games like DS and My little shop for the wii), it leads to the conclusion that the only time that you are the descendants of the original SNES game and HM:MM game is when you are playing Harvest moon 64.

I know what you mean about Potpourri though. In Harvest moon 64 she is not only adorable, but she is also has a great personality and when all the girls are married (including the instances when they are married to you) Potpourri is the only girl in the whole game who talks about things OTHER than her husband. In a town full of nervous nancies like Rick and Maria who are just trying to keep everything peaceful, it's fun that they have a girl who is still a loud little goober. She does beat up Gray after they get married though. Abuse is never funny. :<

I will confess, the fact that there are harvest moon games on Vizzed really made me want to join. Can you upload edited versions of games to vizzed by the way? Someone made a sprite edit version of mineral town that allows gay marriage and I think it would be fun to share!

Dood, if we had created a harvest moon forum I could keep it talking ON MY OWN.

(sorry about the naughty word in the link, I didn't create the post)

OHMYGOSHHARVESTMOONCHAT!!

Even though it was a remake, Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town was (and probably still is) my favorite Harvest Moon game! The sprites are cute and the graphics are all bright and colorful, the characters are interesting and quirky, and there's not really a set path or a designated time frame that you have to strive for. It feels like you truly have some freedom to raise the farm how you want. And what's more, you can hire the little Harvest Sprites to tend the farm for you after only a short time of playing with them and giving them grass you found in the woods! This made it so much easier when I was going to a festival or getting married, since I didn't have to worry about starving livestock or withering crops.

I'm glad you saw the Kana post. It made me think of all those conversations we had over Tale of Two Towns. Ash will forever be in my heart, even though those jerks didn't bring him back in the new game and instead brought princess Cam. >=(

No matter what anyone says, Karen will always hold a special, wine-infused place in my heart. The way you can woo her with your dog, the way she tries so hard to cook and doesn't give up over a few (dozen) burnt dishes, the way she blushes and thanks you so prettily when you give her a bottle of vintage wine....*le sigh* She's so considerate and even though she's stubborn, she's so thoughtful!

Gosh, I keep thinking about this one girl who dressed up as Karen for a convention. Since she seemed to be wearing normal clothes, people didn't really know who she was. But I knew....and she was super happy when I asked for a picture. He he he.

Oh! Eirinn, In Tale of Two Towns, did you marry Laney? The blonde girl from Bluebell? Because that's who I'm working on marrying. I was torn between her and Alisa but after the events in Sunshine Islands, I didn't know if having a character that doesn't have children would make me happy or sad. Alisa refuses to even MARRY in Sunshine Islands, which is super sad. Especially since she has heart events!

Also, Maya, I don't know what the policy is regarding submitting hacks that other people have done. If one of us had made the HM:TLE hacks, then I'm sure there would be no problem submitting them. However, since someone else made them, I don't know if we can add them to Vizzed.

NeppyLeet : Whaaaat??? You're a Harvest Moon fan, and after all this time on the same site as me, you're just now telling me? :o That's a lot of backlog Harvest Moon chat that we have to make up for. xD We need to make a Harvest Moon thread...or ten.

But yes, FoMT will always hold a special place for me, but then so does Back To Nature; there are just enough differences between BTN and FoMT to make them feel like different games, and their own treasure. lol Also FoMT is the first one that I married someone besides Popurri first in (I married Karen in that one first).

The Sprites in FoMT: They're great. They're the first set of sprites that are actually useful on the farm, as the ones in BTN will water a plant, walk clesr across the farm to another crop and water another one of the eight or nine plants in the crop, then find another random plant to water...ugh. In FoMT they actually do their jobs like competent little elves. I like them because I get tired of caring for all of the livestock I get. lol Also they're super handy for taking care of livestock during Typhoons so they don't get all angry and sick. I always hated that about Harvest Moon games, and FoMT is the first one that actually gave you a way around it.

And Neppy, I didn't marry her yet. Honestly I was so torn between Laney and Nori that I decided to just go take whichever one I could woo first. lol Shame on Eirinn! But now I see Laney is coming around first, but I just don't like her family much, they aren't...goofy enough. lol Whereas Gombi is and he's quite honestly one of my favorite villagers, so I'm gravitating toward Nori. HELP!!! What do I do???? xD Oh, I also like Georgia, but I live in the South, and have grown to hate the Southern accent and language, and Georgia is the stereotypical Southern Bell, so she can annoy me at times.

Also, when does the Alchemy(?) lady come around? I'm still in my first Autumn, and I was told I could find her then, but when I search at the time I was given, she's not there. : Is she around in the second Autumn instead of the first? Gosh, I really do need to make a Harvest Moon thread. Be expecting your summon.

AnotherInuFan ; (Fail summoned on purpose, since it's your thread) I actually don't Reina was necessarily un-memorable. She's not that great at first, but she seems to have a shell. Once you get past it, she isn't too bad. I definitely don't like her as much as just about any other girl from former HM games, so I really don't want them to bring her back, but I guess it could be worse...probably.

And I had so much more I was going to say (yeah, hard to believe), but I'm drawing a blank, and I have no more time to spare.

Eirinn :
I totally told you! XD I remember when I first joined, we chatted about it a little bit. It seems like a long time since then. (A year, I think?) But yeah! Harvest Moon threads! I'm working on multiple Harvest Moon walkthroughs to contribute. The only problem is that I waffle between them so I haven't finished any of them. ><;; But they're all a decent way along, so I should just finish one of them up. Also, I look forward to the summon! =D

Maya~!! See you tomorrow! (Though you may not see this before then.)
