I think that if Square Enix made it as a stand alone game, it would do quite well. It would be like other sports games, where you could make your own teams, trade players, and such. You could even have a mode where could make your won blitzsphere and arena to play in.

I mean, come one, Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup sold well, so why wouldn't this game!?

Yeah, this would definitely work as a stand-alone, though it'd be nice if it wasn't as complicated as FFX-2's version was. That one just gave me a headache.

...though I seriously doubt Square Enix would make it no matter how much fans demanded it...

You're sort of right about that. Square wouldn't put much thought into creating a stand-alone Blitzball game, unless a very, very large fan base sent up a huge amount of requests. Even then, you gotta realize that as big a game company as they are, Square is probably booked for several years with projects going on. I'm sure most of those projects are on a tight schedule. They would have to almost go out of their way to create plans for blitzball game. Who know how little free time they have. Even if they do suddenly get the idea to make that game there might not much they could add to it, even with a storyline put in, so it would be a rather small project and made available for the PSP or another portable system.

True enough. Blitzball is fun, but i played Final Fantasy 10 for Final Fantasy, not blitzball. Don't get me wrong; it's a fun game, but it has some flaws, and it gets boring. Although if Square Enix could make it more action packed, then it would be a awesome game to play. Face it, when you play blitzball on ff10 for the 100th time, it gets old.

I found it a bit fun trying to level up my characters for a while. I had a very good team set up. With the skills they had and a strategic playing method I was able to pull off a 15-1 win against the Ronso Fangs.

Tidus is too powerful on mine. He can't learn his techniques to get all the skills because I never let my opponents use them. Always winning by shutout in FFX. FFX-2, on the other hand, I'm the one getting shutout because the coaching system's a little complex, and the only way you're going to get to take on the tournament and league play is by playing hundreds of matches against the weakest team. That'll eat through your Gil in no time.

I think Blitzball in FFX turned out to be much too easy;once you get late in the game gil is very plentyful. You almost never lose a player due to too little cash, and the whole scouting thing was SUPPOSEST to be hard and time consuming, yet the airship ruins all that. Perhaps if they don't let you use killer moves like Jecht's signature one it might be a little harder. Still, Square Enix is too busy to release a game that might just as well be included in Game Stop's collection of: CRAPPY GAMES THAT ONLY FANS WANT, like Gundam and the like.

Blitzball on FFX-2 FAILS. I hate it. Your right, it's way to complex to even begin to learn...

idk if it could stand alone. if they wanted to they would have to go in deep to add a bunch of stuff and featuers if they were going to make it work.

I think they could make it into a stand alone title if they wanted to. I was definitely addicted to playing Blitzball it was a lot of fun.

It means he only speaks Spanish.
Online translators say it's something like "it hears there is a game of blizbol for some platform to mime he would like to know it and in the end ten the best player is the brother the brother of riku"
Yeah... Online translators, not so good sometimes...

oso_chubi: Este es un foro de habla Inglés y nuestros usuarios sólo hablan Inglés así que por favor puesto en Inglés. Gracias.

If that makes sense to him, who knows. Continue on with the thread. I played Blitzball once because I had to.
Then I found out that you got a special item if you won the game. I got annoyed.
Don't put sports in RPGs. Triple Triad was a great mini game, stick to that I say.

I liked blitzball and I think that it would do well simply for the fact it would have final fantasy in the title.

I think that, were they to make Blitzball an action-based game, instead of a stat-based, turn-based game like it is, that Blitzball could be very entertaining...they would have to make it more action-based though...

It is a moot point, anyway, though, because FFX is long since done its run and long forgotten-about at Square Enix, most likely...

Well, you never know.

Maybe, when I get out of college, I could pitch the idea to Square Enix, and they might go with it, they might not. Course, you guys would have to help me with the pitch document. Since it's your idea, I'd need what you want in the game. Obviously, playing from the coach's standpoint is out.

I think it could work if enough time & thought went into it.

I just don't understand why Gamestop would even have a list of 'crappy' games that only fans would want. That's what the games are made for mainly. The fans. I'm certainly not going to buy a game I don't like. :/

i don't see why not, i would definatley rent it and try it out, before writing it off completely. the only thing about it is that the blitzball playing, (in my opinion) had a very high learning curve, and took quite a while to get use to.
