It is really nice, and it is a anime about fighting. The real purpose is that you get to see claymore, and they are people who look like humans, but they fight and protect people from the evil. a good anime is the higurashi series, it's a really great series and I usually don't like the horror sorts but it was good but you'd have to watch all the seasons because you don't get what's happening till the next season and I just love the anime so much and recommend everyone watch it.

If you have not seen any of the miyazaki movies then do so immediately.  Some of those would be Princess mononoke, my neighbor totoro, castle in the sky, howl's moving castle, or any of those kinds (use google to find more). I highly recoomend them, they might not be series but they are amazing to watch.

Now if you are looking for series to watch then I recommend...
1) Kuros***suji (or Black Butler in the american language)
2) Black Blood Brothers
3) Black Cat
4) Vandread
5) Sword Art Online
6) Wolf's Rain (This one is very sad but worth the watch)
7) Angel Beats
8) Another (An horror anime, pretty interesting, high in my list)
9)Rumbling Hearts (If you are into sad stories)
10) Beelzebub (It has humor and violence, with a bit of that I am a delinquent kind of way)

People already said Gundam and Sword Art Online, but I second those. Try Gundam Unicorn if you're looking for really beautifully drawn and animated scenes.
Darker than Black is also a great-looking anime.

maguc :  It's not technically ANIME (Japanese animation), but RWBY is an awesome anime-styled series made by Rooster Teeth.  Only 3 episodes have come out so far, but it's pretty good and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys anime.
