Galacta : No. Some people made a lot of complaints about sakura day. People started saying that they have/had cancer, but nobody is celebrating them. We even had users make pretty obvious fake cancer claims and requested there be a (insert username here) Day, or have posting sprees in their honor, yadayada. It just started to get out of hand with both the complaints about giving one person attention for having cancer and people demanding they get their own special cancer day. Sad, really.

rcarter2 : That's just..... horrible.  Absolutely horrible.  I don't even think my students would do something like that, but the internet makes such terrible acts easier, of course.  I'm sorry to hear that the actions of others destroyed such a nice sentiment.  I know when I first read this girl's thread (nobody led me to it... I just found it browsing around), it literally caused me to break into tears.  I still say it's the thread that's had the strongest impact on me here.  It's a strong dose of reality that I wish others could understand.

I hope and pray that she's alright.  I really do.

Well, even though I haven't had the pleasure to meet her over the interwebs, I pay my respects. She seemed like a good person, and it is a sad thing to see her pass on. I cried a lot when I saw her goodbye thread, I CRIED ALL DAY!!! I REALLY hope she survives! If VERY sadly she doesn't I WILL NOT STOP CRYING!!! But then again, someday when we die, WE WILL REJOICE WITH HER IN HEAVEN FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
