Best way to kill a Zombie is a Chainsaw to the face and boil it.

thing1 : Yeah a Flamethrower is nice but the only problem I have with burning them alive is the ashes they have, Like in return of the living dead the ashes bring back more zombies. Never saw the sequels to how they kill them in those films. Yeah I like the death by money. Runs out of quarters, sees pennys on the ground.

I figure I'll summon you guys since you were in favor of using chainsaws and I'd like to see if you have any issues with anything that I say.

I honestly think a chainsaw would be one of the worst weapons to have in a zombie apocalypse ever. They're loud and heavy. Which means they'll attract tons of zombies, and be too heavy for you to easily take care of them all. Not to mention they aren't magic and it takes time for them to cut through wood. It would probably take quite some time to cut through bone and manage to actually kill just one zombie. Then throw in the fact that they require some kind of power source and you'd only be able to use it for a few days before it becomes a heavy, worthless pile of junk.

If a zombie apocalypse ever really happens, I'm gonna stay the hell away from chainsaws.

What is your opinion on the flamethrower?

You could use any basic trap, because zombies are usually terrible at solving puzzles.

Speaking of puzzles: zombies are usually half rotten, but still manage to function. After they completely decay, do they turn into animated skeletons?

I'm not entirely sure. It's not something that I'd ever use. I just don't see myself coming across one, and then there's the issue of not being able to aim carefully. Inside of a building or something, using it would be committing suicide. Plus if it doesn't immediately kill a zombie, then I'd have a horde of flaming zombies coming right for me. Then there's the issue of having to carry it around with me. There's no way I'd be able to carry it and a bag full of supplies, or even an empty bag to hold any loot I come across, around easily. It would severely limit me. In a zombie apocalypse I wouldn't just set out to kill as many zombies as possible. It would be about finding stuff to aid in survival. Because of that, I'd stay away from a flamethrower and try to stick to a handgun and maybe a baseball bat or something for a close combat weapon.

Best way would be a sniper bullet to the face but the most fun would be to take a semi down a freeway full of zombies

I'd be as creative as my surroundings let me be, if I had a gas station full of zombies or barrels of explosive substance, set them up like claymores around my home base which would change daily and have a fuse of some sort to blow the barrels or maybe some plastic explosive, i'd definitely have a bat or a golfclub and the sword goes without saying if I can find one, a car wouldn't hurt, you can also bury them in cement if you're lucky or maybe corral them into a pen like structure filled with oil and you could have a match or lighter to drop in there.

Honestly I couldn't see a reason for a sniper rifle. Assuming a handgun can kill a zombie just as well with a head shot, I think it would be a much better choice. It's quieter, smaller, and easier to handle. Plus if a zombie is so far away that a sniper rifle would come in handy, odds are you'd be better off just ignoring the zombie entirely.

Just my opinion.

soxfan849 : Well I'd prefer a rifle to a handgun in most situations. They're easier to use from a distance, and handguns are actually louder than a standard hunting rifle. Unless you happen to live in a city with a ton of potential zombies, a handgun would be a last resort sidearm.
There's also nothing wrong with some sort of club if you're only dealing with only a couple of them. It'd be wise to conserve your best weaponry as much as possible. I'd say the most effective way to kill a zombie would obviously be targeting the head, either with a club or a firearm. Blades look really cool in movies, but unless you're very strong and trained with it, it will most likely just get stuck halfway through a cut. If you can't slice a small tree branch in one cut, don't try it on bone.

Can I put it this way, You know how you roll up a tube of tooth paste, The zombies head is the cap.

iwxLeprechaun : Not true a sword CAN run out of bullets if you are Squall Leonhart and the best way to kill a zombie is with a laser !! You can just make a laser fence around wherever you want to be and the zombies will just walk through it and be left in tiny pieces

Do what the man in Shaun of the Dead said "Remove the head or destroy the brain". It's the classic method and you can never go wrong with the classics (Unless your name is Sonic Genesis).
