I would most certainly be a Bug gym leader with Forretress, Shuckle, Shedinja, Ninjask, and Pinsir.

Its interesting to see some of the choices I'm getting...we could almost create a Pokemon game ourselves with the given archetypes plus the other ones we would expect.

I would probably be a trainer and just train on random wild pokemon all day until my pokemon were lvl 99s.

Then I would travel around and destroy all gym leaders.

septembern : Not that simple...there is no true level 99 system as everything don't generally raise... As well, it takes a lifetime for Pokemon to reach such high levels, if such a system was to be used. Pokemon would also technically have to train their whole lives to reach that point. As well...under the right circumstances, a level "5" pokemon can defeat a level 99 with enough tactical skill.,..albeit its a fluke.

Redrunelord : LOL, that's perfectly fine. I play a lot of pokemon games till I get stuck, try few a few more hours, then try to get farther in another version. Thus, I wouldn't really know these things. I have gotten my Pokemon to level 60s. I see where I erred. I normally go to gyms and get higher. In the actual games the wild training tactic worked well for a good number of levels, but I bet that it took me 10x as long as it should have.

septembern : I was referring mainly to if we had to apply Pokemon to the real world. In the games I find that the wild Pokemon only works to 5 levels beyond the highest wild Pokemon in the game, then it sorta stalls...I will say that I think that the games should have more high level areas but,...yeah. Thats why the real world would be cool as every fight would be true training and there is always potential for gain...usually.

It's a tough choice between Pokemon breeding or just traveling as a regular old trainer, really. I don't really feel the need to do big things, and I think just traveling the world with your Pokemon companions and battling for sport would be amazing. But, I also would love to own a Daycare for Pokemon, or just breed/catch Pokemon. I'd always play imaginary games as a kid as a Pokemon breeder anyway.

Being a gym leader would also be cool, but I don't have what it takes for that. xD

I would wanna be coordinator for the crazy combinations. Sort of like trainers but has a lot more swagg to it.

Basically what I mean is this:
Instead of just doing the usual battle thing, you have more strategy and flow with it. For example, in a pokemon battle, you could use an aipom's swift to attack the opponent. In a pokemon contest, you can use that swift attack for a variety of stuff such as making a shield, or surrounding the enemy, etc.

When a contest battle takes place, there's an endless amount of combinations that can happen/ take place. Because of this, your opponent can become very unpredictable. So in short, you have to be flexible and be able to adapt to the situation by countering with combos of your own.

catfight09 : In all actuality, that's how Pokemon would have to work in the real world. The games are, in all actuality, rather streamlined in all of the aspects, such as breeding, contests and combat. If I'm interpreting your post properly, then its just a more accurate representation of how Pokemon would work in the real world...

In the real world combat, its gonna be a lot more complicated anyways...for example a flying Pokemon will be very hard to hit with most moves that would shred them in the games. In the real world you are going to have a lot more manipulation of terrain and various variables...the show depicts a number of them (as I never read the manga I cant speak for it) but only as a representation that it is complicated.

In reality...what you suggested is simply a trainer recognizing this basic fact. My team, as I mentioned on the first page, is very dragon oriented and wanderer like...I have to recognize their weaknesses and know how to adapt their strengths into actual applications BEYOND the basic power struggle represented by the games.

I'm glad you see things that way though, as it is true.

Hmm, if I could live in the Pokemon world, I would live in Kanto... I'd travel around a lot, but I would want to have a "home base" of sorts, probably in Cerulean just because that's my favorite city.

I would be a Pokemon Breeder/Occasional Battler, and help other people breed their Pokemon.

Based on my team in the games, I would probably own a Blastoise (raised from a Squirtle egg from Professor Oak), an Arcanine (raised from a Growlithe I caught outside Lavender Town), a Dragonite (bought as a Dratini from the Casino), and maybe a few I switch out every now and then, like Gyrados or a Ninetails.

Again based on the games, the rare/really strange Pokemon would either be around humans, brought back from fossils found in the desert/caves, or in hard to reach areas.

supersam4ever08 : Thats not quite what this thread is mentioning. This thread is focusing more-so on if Pokemon existed on planet Earth as we know it, and we had early contact with pokemon and our technology gravitated somewhat to a pro-Pokemon world. Places like New York or London would be drastically different due to Pokemon but they would still be there. Pokemon like say Sandshrew would be in the actual deserts around the world like the Sahara, in Arabia, the Gobi desert and whatnot.

I would look for a career in Pokemon breeding.

I would rather be loved by Pokemon by taking care of the rather than battling with them.

Yeah it would be fun but I would just prefer breeding them.
