I'm going to go with the light saber on this one since I feel weird about classifying the Force as a weapon. It was "an elegant weapon for a more civilized age". I like some of the creative answers people have come up with though, like Thalaron radiation, good stuff. Star Trek had tons of unique (but ultimately forgettable) options to go with, but none that I ever pretended to play with as a kid. I think it was super cool how Samuel L. Jackson demanded his own color light saber. Mine would be Orange.

Honestly, I'd say the phaser, but I have a soft spot for Mind-melds and other Vulcan telekinetic tricks.
