So...today is Easter. Happy Easter everyone...anyone doin' anything special? I have to work, and so does my mom, so we aren't doin' anything...as usual with any holiday...

Not to Tarnish the memory of LightKnight or anything... But my dad and me went into this Gas station. And a Johovah Witness was working there. My dad told him HAPPY EASTER, And remember the Cross. Cuz I guess they don't believe in easter or the cross. They believe in a Pole? Because thats what Jesus died on mabey? Well anyways HAPPEY HAPPEWY Easter!

Yeah , Jesus died on a cross... JW's are weird.. i mean a pole, seririosly. I wonder if anyother religions have weird shapes, like hexagons and dodecahedrons... cool!!!

I'm not trying to be ignorant or anything. And somebody say something if this is wrong for me to say. But from my point of view, JW is kinda like a cult. They seclude you from other people and you have to follow their strict rules. Its kinda weird......... but thats just me.

My Easter is going great. I got up at 6am came on here, went to work at 7am...had to wash dishes by hand due to a broken dishwasher, and now I'm at home...alone...yaaaaay...

Christmas WASN'T ruined by coorperations. Gifts have been given out during christmass before a coorperation even existed.

Halloween was never not celebebrated like this.

You failed to mention Valentines Day which WAS invented by coorperations aswell.

First off are you sure about Valentines Day? I thought there was something behind it, but I can't remember.

Second the only reason we have Halloween is because Novemember 1 is All Saints Day. So the idea was that demons and evil spirits came out the night before, so that is where the costume thing came from.

You are right about Christmas as far as the presents go. However Christmas Trees (and lights I think) are from a Pagan holiday. I can't remember what they stood for though.

Coming back to Easter, I am not sure about the Candy aspect, you may be right. But as far as the bunnies and eggs go that MM and Belial mentioned that is Pagan. Think about cartoons, we see a male and female bunny go off screen and then come back with a lot of babies. The bunny and eggs are about fertility. I think a Pagan holiday was around the same time as Easter and when Constatine changed the Roman Empire to Christanity, he sort of add the bunny and egg part to Easter and the things I mentioned before to Christmas.

Jehovah Witnesses don't believe in the Trinity and as far as I can remember JW's ddon't believe that Jesus is the Son of God (hence Jehovah). So technically should they be called Christians? I mean Christian means Christ like. I don't think they say they are Christians but please correct me if I am wrong about this.

Valentines day was completely made by the coorperations. Valentine is a saint and i think he's the one of love but there was never ALOT of celebration.

Most things like the easter bunny, etc. were made up by aethiest so they could celebrate the holiday without believing in the religion.

the day before All Saints day is all Souls day. Which means evil souls and good souls. People dress up to reconize ALL souls.

ummm... nothing was made up by corporations. Corporations just fed off of the holiday. Also, nothing was made up by the Athiests so that they could celebrate the holiday. You guys just fail to accept that a lot of your traditions are based off of the old pagan ways.

Christianity stole many holidays and beliefs from paganism. Then they suddenly claimed paganism was evil, but I guess this goes down more to personal beliefs, of where Christianity began.
