Ah... the Nintendo Entertainment System and it's successor, the Super Nintendo, were two of the most influential consoles of back then and beyond. Their games were stimulating, creative, entertaining, and unique. It just so happens that they are getting re-released. Would you be in the mood to purchase one? Why or why not? Thanks for your opinion.

I wouldn't because I have other means to play all of the games which Nintendo released/is releasing on these 'new' consoles.

Well, I was lucky enough to score the NES Classic Edition when it was first released, and I like it a lot. It's got a decent selection of games for the price, and I've really enjoyed playing them (especially with a wireless controller).

And, yes, I will be trying to get the Super NES Classic, as well. I'm a nostalgic guy!

Well I don't plan on getting either. But If I did I think I would like the SNES. The SNES was my favorite system. While I wish they would have included  more Mega Man games as well as Kirby. I like some of the games that come with it.

For collection purposes, it kinda interests me... the prices for what are essentially emulating micro-PCs like the raspberry pi kinda makes me disinterested.

There is a part of me that wants to just to have a "legit" copy but I can emulate any game from nearly any console up to PS2 if I really want to. I have no good reason to shell out the money to play these games.

I can understand the appeal for anyone who doesn't know how to emulate games but if you know how there isn't much draw.

Also, could they have missed more games that were awesome for both consoles? With how small the files are they easily could have put twice as many games on and it still wouldn't have to be expensive. Not really sure why they didn't unless they plan on releasing a 2nd version or a deluxe edition or something.

No, all I need is a raspberry Pi and the updated Star Fox 2 Rom (Which I have) and then I'll have both of them for a lot cheaper. For collection purposes I see why, but for gaming it's a waste of money.

In all honesty, I really would like to get the SNES classic for the soul purpose of getting Star Fox 2. Even though I grew up more on the NES than the SNES, that offer along with the rest of the library the SNES has is much more appealing to me.

While it would be cool just to have, I don't think it would be worth the money to be honest. There are several other (not to mention free) methods in which I can play SNES or NES games...

I don't know if I would be willing to buy either of them right now. If I had to choose between the two of them, I'd go with the SNES, but even then, if it's too expensive, then I don't think it's worth it.

To me, The NES / SNES classic is a waste of money: not only being a huge rip-off to anyone for a fairly expensive price but when emulators and original consoles are so much cheaper to market it becomes a redundant market product. Nintendo clearly doesn't want to give their audiences fresh experience and more so rather recycle old console's for their use.

Vanelan : Pretty much the point I'm trying to make here. The price is so questionable that no one would want to buy it. Especially with emulators being used most of the time.

However, I can see why someone would want one of these, obviously, one for the collection purposes, to have a standard deck of 30 games to play really emphasizes nostalgia, (though to be completely honest it doesn't serve the same achievement as getting an actual cartridge.)  I dunno, they honestly just seem like a cheap cash-out to me.

geeogree :
I feel like its kinda disingenuous in a way for Nintendo to call these "legit" since they are using an emulator in their system.
I guess they own the IPs and can do whatever they see fit, but that's how I feel about it...

Ah perhaps this explains the crapping move Nintendo pulled on vizzed. I do not see the point of taking down a bunch of old games that they are not making money off of. It explains it but still makes me mad.

In theory I would buy a SNES but I actually own an original SNES with all the games.
