Sadly, it's true. Adventure Time is being cancelled after the end of Season 9.

So far Season 9 has been amazing, and it's hard to believe it's ending. I really hope Netflix picks it up, but somehow I doubt it.

Thoughts? Do you this the show has run its' course, or do you  think Cartoon Network couldn't keep up?

I'm pretty sure that the show ran it's course, and it's not really cancelling, it's just ending. If it was being cancelled, that means that they wanted to do more seasons, but the channel said no.

And it's not like this is out of the blue, Pendelton Ward said way back last year that the show was finishing in 2018.

Otherwise it ends up becoming a case similar to that of any other really long running series like the Simpsons and Spongebob where the newer seasons lost much of what made the show appealing in the first place. This way it gets to go out while on top and people will only have positive memories of it. Though with how popular it has been I wouldn't be surprised if they end up reusing ideas or taking influence from it in some form for a future project.
