This seems to be yet another remake of an old scary movie.

I'm not sad about it personally. I've quite enjoyed the remakes that have been done recently. They're not the same as the originals. They lack the psychology that the older movies used to be scary... but I still like em.

Anyone else excited about this movie? I'll see it at some point

Well I plan on seeing it when it comes out because the origal 1980's version is nice ,but it has long need to get the modern effects it so deserves.

it's hard to watch some of the old horror movies because the special effects are so bad compared to today's standards.

there is something about the original of most horror movie series... but most of the sequels are pretty bad.

I like remakes because you usually get a different twist on the story and it looks a LOT better.

That is true. Like what they did last yar with Fridat the 13th movie how it added some different twist to it than the original. You think there gonna give a entire character back ground like they did in Friday the 13th? I tihkn so becasue Freddy was always shown as a monster ,but it be nice to know how he became that monster in the process.

yeah, the same thing was done with Halloween. A LOT more time was spent on Michael Myers when he was a kid and how he became the evil masked character.

The remakes won't even be as good as the originals, and there have been some BAD remakes (Amityville horror? ) but I do like a good horror movie so I like the remakes that are going on.

Yeah tehre have been some bad remakes,an well the orignal can't e beat because it help scare people back when they first came out. Some of the new remakes like you said Halloween were pretty good and I hope this one is to.(Another one which I thight wasn't really good was 'My Blood Valentine)

There were a few parts in the Halloween remake that really bothered me. The scene where he escapes from the mental hospital seemed to be totally over the top.

But I think a lot of it is bringing these movies ahead 30 years from where they were made. There is always something in every movie that I don't like.... but more often than not I can enjoy the movie in spite of some of those things. I understand what you mean about the language though. It does seem like the protagonist should be squeeky clean when it comes to stuff like that. Or if he/she does swear it's one time in an epic line like in Aliens: "Get away from her you b****". That's just an epic line.

I lost hope when Michael Bay was going to produce this movie.

But Jackie Earle Haley is playing Freddy, so this should be good. Though there's been only a few good Nightmare on Elm Street movies, especially Wes Craven's New Nightmare.

I love the new remakes of lately because of the better graphics, but I agree with you on the psychology part of newer movies. Movies back then just had that scare tactic that is un-matched in todays movies!!! What todays movies lake in suspense and scariness they make up for in gore, blood and visual effects.

Another one I saw recently was Quarantine/Rec and Rec 2. Rec and Rec2 are the italian versions. The Italian versions are better Just annoying to read subtitles in a horror movie

Another bloody movie remake!

I'm getting really sick of these, they make a really good old movie look like crap (if the remake is crap). I'll just stick with japanese horror movies, they may be subbed but some of them are awesome.

I am really looking forward to the remake of nightmare on elm street. I think just like the friday the 13th one it should be really good. Robert englund isn't playing freddy this time so it should be interesting to see how the new actor does as freddy.
