The Video Game Music Radio is a live 24/7 stream dedicated to playing some of the best video game music. It doubles as video game trivia with a full leaderboard and prizes! You can find it here:

To put into perspective just how big of a project this is, I've been working on this on and off for the past 5+ months and easily have 400+ hours into this. This is using the Video Game Music Room which contains 134,099 songs that I've invested 100s of hours converting and adding to Vizzed (some staff members have also helped add stuff). The radio picks high rated music based on user ratings and there are a total of 76,463 song ratings among 551 different users with a total of 29,466 songs having been rated. The screenshots (360,199 user submitted) and videos (17,298 user submitted) are generated from the Retro Game Room and the Video Game Room and are based on user ratings. To sum all of that up, this radio contains 10,000s of man hours and because of that, I believe that an experience like this couldn't be replicated anywhere else on the internet.

Future Features
I'm still not done adding features to this but it's at a point where I can take a break and not work on it as much. Some future features will include song tracker that tracks how many songs a user has listened to (with leaderboard), bigger variety of prizes, awards for winning an event or for winning the month, random raffles, fixing the 'Extend Song' feature and more!

Themed Segments
The themed segments are fully functioning. The schedule can be viewed on the left side of the stream and the full schedule can be found on this page. Basically the songs will be randomly selected based on the current theme and only in themed mode will users be able to participate in the leaderboard.


Game Guessing
You can officially guess on the name of the games from this page which automatically adds you to the leaderboard. You get an 'Extra Song Credit' item (more details below) for guessing a song correctly and you also get 10 points on the leaderboard. You get an additional 5 points for each user who also guessed on the same song (max of 50 points for this) and a bonus of up to 25 points depending on how quickly you answer the song.

Points earned in 'Ranked' mode get added to the overall leaderboard while points earned in 'Unranked' mode get reset once the current theme is over. 'Unranked' themes include 'Any Song Request', playlists and themes where songs are generated from just 1 or just a few games.


Embedded Request a Song
You can request a song far more easily and quickly on this page. It lets you find a song based on game name, song name or both. When you go to add a song, it'll let you know the queue rank of your song and also a list of all your queued songs.


2X Song Voucher
This is an item that can be purchased from the Vizzed Market that lets you add up to 2 songs to the queue at a time. Staff already have the ability to add up to 2 songs to the queue while all regular users can only have 1 song in the queue at a time. Patrons of the $10 tier and up can also add up to 2 songs while patrons of the $25 tier and up can add up to 3 songs at a time. Extra Song Credit
This is a 1 time use item and lets you add 1 additional song to the queue beyond your current limit. This can be stacked. it can only be won in the Video Game Music Radio and cannot be purchased from the Vizzed Market (unless an individual user has one for sale).


Song History
Shows the last songs played in case you missed the answer and wanted to see what the game was about or wanted to save the song for later.


TodVboT
This is a custom bot I made which is dedicated to posting in the Twitch chat relevant to the current song. It'll inform the chat when a new song is up and the trivia is open for it, when the game is revealed, when a winner is revealed, a link to where the song can be obtained, the name's of the users who provided the screenshots and video used for the song and random tip messages.


Link Vizzed Account to Twitch Account
You can add your Twitch name to your Vizzed profile so that when you're on the leaderboard, it shows what your Twitch name is so that users know who is who. To add your Twitch channel to your profile, go to your profile and click the 'Online Services' link in the 'Edit Your Profile and Settings' section.

I've really been enjoying the music radio feature. I think that you used those 400+ hours very wisely. I hope that the video game music radio feature will be a smashing success for the site.

gamerforlifeforever : I think so too. Something like this has never really been pulled off successfully by anyone else so I wanted to jump on the opportunity before someone else beat me to it. But like I said in my 1st post, it'd be very unlikely for any other site to pull something off like this since it requires access to a lot of content.

I just wanted to say thank you for the Video Game Music Twitch channel. I followed almost immediately and I hope it's ok to play while I'm streaming my content. I signed up for this site just so I could participate in the trivia, and I like what is going on around here. I may not be very active for the time being until I get a PC, due to the fact that I'm stuck using mobile devices... and we all know how painful that can be. Great work on the Radio Channel! The trivia is cool as well!

I just wanted to point out that while listening to a stream last night and today for a couple of hours, that the issue where songs form a certain game are being played quite a bit is still happening. For example, during themed streams, it seems that the player is choosing between two different games and alternating between them. Issue being, that it makes it really easy to guess the trivia questions since it's so consistent. Plus it would be nice for some change-up for varieties sake.
