I miss this place.
I miss the VCS.
I miss the Tour de Vizzed.
The intense race to get those last posts in before midnight to capture that blue jersey.

I miss the post sprees.
The italicized names,
And the flames that soon followed.

I miss the friendships I had.
Barathemos. Divine Aurora.
Razor. Mohammedroxx.
Matthew. EM.
Mrfe. Goodboy.

I miss the political debates,
Regardless of the trouble they would get me in.

I miss the layouts I would make.
Learning HTML slowly but surely.

Back when this website was my life.
When I would spend every minute of my free time here.
When I was closer with my online friends than my real life friends.

Back before usernames could be changed.
Before the entire website was smooshed together.
Before Nintendo threatened to sue.
Before everyone left...

I miss this place.
Or maybe I just miss what this place used to be to me.

Also, I hate poetry.

It's fun to hold on to the memories and things and enjoy the feelings they evoke. I think back to certain times in my life that were a blast. They were fun because of the dynamic of the people, the time of my life, and everything that was going on.

Nothing stays the same. Everything changes and evolves. For better or for worse is what you make of it. Maybe you're in a different place in your life and this is just not what it was. Or other people change their own lives and get away from Vizzed. New members come in, they come together as friends, and old members (seasoned members) just fade away in the background. They may still post but they aren't as active as they were. Life comes into play. We work, we have more, harder school, we have families and other obligations. We don't have the time. The younger folks do so they take over and form their own cliques and cultures.

It happens everywhere, whether online or in real life. Things change and those of us who remember the good times are left with just that: memories.

I enjoyed what you wrote. I've felt it and experienced it too many times to count.

You hit me in the feels, man.

That last line was so ironic XD

I miss vizzed too. People are just so busy. I was afraid this year would make me inactive and it did. I want to fight to stay active but grades have been a struggle so I haven't been on as much as I've tried to. I've been trying to focus more on real life friends and my family, but my friends are too busy 95% of the time. One reason I have come back to vizzed is that unlike how I used to feel, I need a lot of interaction with others.

It hurts when people (and games) go but there are always new people to meet. At school where I have no friends in most of my classes, I'm still finding people to help out in class and talk to. On vizzed, new users register every day. Threads are still made and people still interact with each other. Things still go on even after others have left.

Hopefully you can return to this community and other users will welcome you back with open arms (on their keyboards)

It is definitely weird to experience the change in the active userbase and the site in general.

Fact is, this site is constantly changing, and there's nothing we can do about it. I was sad when my friends started leaving the site but then I met new users and kept on going. Once you embrace the change and become open to meeting new people, it's not that bad.

Duuuude, I was listing off the top 50 members based on experience and tallying up which ones were active/inactive because I missed the good old days literally hours before you posted this. Sure, there's entertaining stuff that happens still, but it's just not the same, and it hasn't been the same since Nintendo struck. I don't plan on leaving the site, though. But in the end, who knows what's gonna happen?

Anyway, a few comments I wanna make. You were active before I was, so I don't really know what the VCS is. However, you should have been here last month. Everyone on this site will tell you that last month's TdV was the MOST controversial TdV of all time. I suggest you read a couple threads about what happened, because it is really interesting and it may change your mood a bit.

The friends you listed that you miss, I still see most of them around. They haven't completely left. Well, most of em'. :x

Like everyone else in this thread says, things change. I don't have a problem with how the site looks nowadays. Some things are defenitely better pertaining to Vizzed now than they were back then, such as the user interface. Yeah, activity went down since Nintendo struck, but doesn't that just show you who the real friends are? The only reason I had to leave my friends here was because I was getting banned lmao.

We just gotta make an effort. Whatever you push your effort towards is up to you. I hope to see you somewhat active again here, and I'm sure many of us do. Thanks for posting this, since I was feeling similar emotions that this poem portrays.

I know that feeling all too well, though I haven't had quite that experience with Vizzed itself, as mine happened on another site...

I was on a mobile site years ago (one that wasn't that great really), called Kalador. I met a lot of people there, including my (until recently) best friend. Hey, I even fell in love there. But things changed, I left and so did everyone I knew... Then one day I tried going back and into the chatroom there, and I didn't recognize anyone. The mood of the chat was different, the users were different, everything was different. I eventually did see two familiar faces, but even they no longer were the same. I missed my friends, I missed the meaningful relationships I had with them, I even missed the troll that came in and stirred up drama everyday. lol

I've lost too many people and left too many good times behind in my life for one reason or another, so I identify all too well with your post.

But I don't get that way anymore. I've officially lost contact with every friend I met when I joined here, I've officially lost contact with the person who was the closest to me in all my life, I've officially lost contact with the woman I loved, I've officially lost all of my family except my parents, and I've officially lost contact with every single person I've ever met in real life except for my nephews and their dad and other grandparents.
And it officially doesn't bother me.

It's hard to tell if I've grown up, grown wiser, or grown jaded. It's so hard to know, that frankly, I don't. I do know that I've learned to love people yet not let it devastate me when I lose them, and I've learned to appreciate the times I live in, yet not cling wistfully to them after they're past. It hurts sometimes, but those moments are rare, and I move on from them with no trouble.

I don't know, man. Life changes, and we just try to adapt as we go.
Thanks for writing this. It made me think and feel in ways that most writings can't.

Lexatom : Off topic, but to answer your question (that you didn't actually ask), the VCS was a simple posting competition. It's kind of like the Blue jersey in TdV. Make the most posts and win.

Yeah, we all miss things. I miss some people, but they either hate me or don't want to be around me......most of the time it's both.
