So has anyone else heard of this new thing Amazon is trying out called Amazon Go?

If you want to buy food from a supermarket, it's as easy as picking up the food and walking out with it. Because that's exactly what it is. Amazon will be opening up physical stores where an app scans the products that you take, and when you leave the store, it scans the app and all the items and charges your account.

That literally means that there will be no lines, no cashiers, no interactions of any kind with hoomans. Of course, this means that cashiers in general could start disappearing like Justin Bieber haters.

But on the other hand, it would make so many peoples lives easier, and all the stores would need are security that stop people from only entering without the app, because other than that, shoplifting would be impossible.

I like the idea of Amazon Pantry- again keyword Like the idea but to me is not very practical; I just don't like ordering food online so this right here would be very cool though the chances of one opening here in Ocala, FL are very slim. 

Speaking of which, a WalMart Neighborhood market opened up here- there's like 5 WalMarts very close to where I live and now this one but, it is just for food- I have not checked it out yet but, it supposedly helps with the traffic that usually goes to other WalMarts for groceries. Even Dollar Tree Neighborhood is a thing a few cities from where I live- I saw a big one and was very surprised since I've never heard of them carrying large grocery items. Seems to be a trend. I mean, we all need food right? So makes a good business idea plus, this Amazon Go since it is all apps will appeal mostly to the technological age people so that could be very beneficial.

i can't wait until there are reports of stealing from amazon go, there is a reason why we have human checkouts and besides the robot checkouts don't always work well, so there might be errors sometimes.

mastergame : Someone would have to go to great lengths to steal something. Even if someone walks out with stuff and they either didn't have the app or they didn't have enough money, they would either have all their info already or the security would do something about it. I'm sure there could be instances where someone doesn't pay and then they charge them anyway, that's the whole reason for connecting your purchases directly with your bank account instead of cash or a card.

zanderlex : there hasnt been any details to how they will stop anyone from stealing, so ya maybe there is something amazon is doing but for now its going to be a hit or miss. if someone doesn't have money maybe amazon will alert them first to return it or else they will send the police which is very possible considering people sometimes leaves GPS on.

now movie wise, its not hard to steal from amazon go. just make it pass the barriers that are very easy to jump over, even for a noobie. quickly grab and go run.

stores have it harder, once in, you are seen, the best stuff is always in the back so running is not going to help. food is no longer than 50 foot away from the door. just to steal food is hard.

mastergame : First off, it says there won't be barriers when you are leaving. The barriers are only there when entering to stop people without an account from coming in.

Even if someone goes over with something, they will have their bank info and everything.

so yes is easy to jump over. and maybe there will be barriers when you leave to stop you from stealing.

Amazon is always trying to innovate shopping by adding new products and programs that make shopping easier. However, i'm not sure if Amazon Go will work out. You buy your groceries from the app, walk in, grab everything you bought, and walk out. It may be easy to steal, but I'm sure Amazon considered everything and made sure that there were no loopholes in this. My only guess is you have to show the employees that you bought everything on your account.

Is this Amazon's version of Pokémon GO where you have to wonder around to find your groceries?

I don't know who created Amazon Go, but I'm try to figure out how we get them to have "Amazon Go to the Polls!"

Call me paranoid, but I don't really like the way this sounds... I don't like the idea of having an electronic paper trail that logs literally everything I buy. That might sound ridiculous to some people because it's just food, but it's a matter of principal. If the option's there, that's fine but I don't want this to be the new self checkout. I value my anonymity.

This sounds like it could replace not only human run checkout but self checkout as well. Sure self checkout is great if you have something lets say a can of refried beans then you can go there and void clogging up lines.

This is like the Alexia,right? Just what we need in this world,another way to be lazy,lol.

If you think checkout lines suck wait till you have to return something at the customer service desk. I only see this being useful for black friday, other then that use your brain and pick a better time to shop because you will probably still have to deal with rush hour traffic afterwards.

I'm only replying because 4 out of 5 days a week when I leave for work I see the Amazon van drive to my right as I'm waiting to turn left. I didn't even know this was a thing, but now I do (I was thinking they were transporting online orders).

I think this is a great idea. I order everything I can from Amazon. I been considering Amazon Fresh, but this would be even better IMO.
