Anyone use Amazon Prime?
I wanted to take some time to actually talk about how awesome it is after something happened today.
I love Amazon Prime so much, and while I bought it on accident on May 22nd, it turned out to be the best thing that I have bought in a long time. Since I used to have a student account, I only had to pay $50 for the year, but even paying the full $100 is worth it, especially if you like music, movies, and video games.
Most people think that Amazon Prime is only for shipping, which gives you free two day shipping for almost anything you buy, and if you buy things often enough, just that alone is worth it, but that's just the tip of the nice-berg as the features are 100 times better than that.
I love the Amazon Music and Video services. As long as you have a Prime account, you can download the apps or use the browsers to watch hundreds of movies and listen to thousdands of songs. You can usually go onto Amazon and find a movie or song that they are selling, but most of them are 100% free if you are a member. I have my Amazon music app on my iphone, and the day I got the account I downloaded 20 full albums and I get to keep them as long as I have the account.
Amazon Video is just as awesome, as there's always an assortment of movies and TV shows that you can watch online or in the app. While typing this I was in the process of downloading the Spectre, the most recent James Bond movie, and I have used it to see the most recent Mission Impossible, Transformers, Hunger Games, and Terminator movies, along with Interstellar, The Gambler, and whole seasons of Man in the High Castle, Doctor WHo, and the Legend of Korra/Avatar, all for free.
The best feature of Amazon Prime happens to be its gaming section. For a long time, Amazon Prime members would get 20% off new physical games before they are released and for two weeks after they are released. For example, I had already paid $32 for Pokemom Sun, and had also used my account for my friends to buy the games. That's $96 for 3 copies of Sun/Moon and free shipping.
Just recently, like this month recently, Amazon expanded on the gaming section, by creating a partnership with Twitch, where they created a new services called Twitch Prime, which is free and only for Amazon Prime members.
Twitch Prime is like Twitch Turbo but so much better. Turbo costs $8 a month and you get no ads, emoticons, a badge, colors, and more video storage. Twitch Prime comes with no ads, colors, badge, and emoticons, along with a free 30 day subscription to any channel each month, and free games and in game items each month.
Subscriptions alone cost like $5 a month so it's awesome.
Do you already use Amazon Prime and have any thoughts on it? Or maybe really like it now? Anyone use Amazon Prime?
