Anyone use Amazon Prime?

I wanted to take some time to actually talk about how awesome it is after something happened today.

I love Amazon Prime so much, and while I bought it on accident on May 22nd, it turned out to be the best thing that I have bought in a long time. Since I used to have a student account, I only had to pay $50 for the year, but even paying the full $100 is worth it, especially if you like music, movies, and video games.

Most people think that Amazon Prime is only for shipping, which gives you free two day shipping for almost anything you buy, and if you buy things often enough, just that alone is worth it, but that's just the tip of the nice-berg as the features are 100 times better than that.

I love the Amazon Music and Video services. As long as you have a Prime account, you can download the apps or use the browsers to watch hundreds of movies and listen to thousdands of songs. You can usually go onto Amazon and find a movie or song that they are selling, but most of them are 100% free if you are a member. I have my Amazon music app on my iphone, and the day I got the account I downloaded 20 full albums and I get to keep them as long as I have the account.

Amazon Video is just as awesome, as there's always an assortment of movies and TV shows that you can watch online or in the app. While typing this I was in the process of downloading the Spectre, the most recent James Bond movie, and I have used it to see the most recent Mission Impossible, Transformers, Hunger Games, and Terminator movies, along with Interstellar, The Gambler, and whole seasons of Man in the High Castle, Doctor WHo, and the Legend of Korra/Avatar, all for free.

The best feature of Amazon Prime happens to be its gaming section. For a long time, Amazon Prime members would get 20% off new physical games before they are released and for two weeks after they are released. For example, I had already paid $32 for Pokemom Sun, and had also used my account for my friends to buy the games. That's $96 for 3 copies of Sun/Moon and free shipping.

Just recently, like this month recently, Amazon expanded on the gaming section, by creating a partnership with Twitch, where they created a new services called Twitch Prime, which is free and only for Amazon Prime members.

Twitch Prime is like Twitch Turbo but so much better. Turbo costs $8 a month and you get no ads, emoticons, a badge, colors, and more video storage. Twitch Prime comes with no ads, colors, badge, and emoticons, along with a free 30 day subscription to any channel each month, and free games and in game items each month.

Subscriptions alone cost like $5 a month so it's awesome.

Do you already use Amazon Prime and have any thoughts on it? Or maybe really like it now?

I actually do use Amazon Prime, and I'm a pretty big fan of it.

I got it because now that I'm a college student again, I get it not just at a discounted rate, but I get my first six months free.

I use it primarily to get games cheap. I've saved roughly 100 dollars on games in the past few months, which means that by itself, it alone is worth the price of the full package. I also love getting what I ordered shipped to me instantly.

For example, I pre-ordered World of Final Fantasy. I paid 48 dollars, and it will be here tomorrow. Without Prime, it would have cost 60 bucks, and wouldn't be here until like next week.

Amazon video/music/etc are neat too, but I don't find myself utilizing those services. If anyone does, it's an even better deal.

legacyme3 : Worls of final fantasy is out already??? For the longest Gamestops website said the game was coming out December 31st and I never bothered to check again recently lol. Doesn't seem like a surprise that they would have messed something up though because they were listing the pre order for the vita version at 60, while all other stores were 40.

Prime also makes it a better deal when you involve other people. My friends have been using my account for games and equipment left and right and then I bring them to them. They get huge discounts, free shipping, and I get a little something.

zanderlex :

It comes out tomorrow, I think.

I'll be getting my copy tomorrow morning.

I'm getting the PS4 version, which, according to early reviews, looks absolutely amazing.

zanderlex : Thank you so much for letting us know about this! I've been thinking of signing up for Amazon Prime for a while now but didn't have time to look into all that it offered, so thank you for listing so many of its perks here. lol If I get it, I'll certainly be using the Amazon Music and Video services.

I LOVE Amazon Prime. I don't watch cable so gaming and streaming is what I watch. Amazon TV has a good list of shows and movies though I do find myself using Netflix more for variety. Music and audiobooks is neat too. I like the Add on items items cheap that you can add to an order of $25 and free shipping. I like the discounts and the black Friday events.

My favorite feature is the 2 day shipping I've bought over 20 things in the past three months from it that I needed to buy for the house and to be able to get it in 2 days in great condition is awesome. I love it. I am definitely a fan of it and would be using it more these next weeks for Christmas' presents. I even got my halloween costume from there and boots and they fit perfectly and came in 2 days.

I was not aware of the Twitch Prime- that's cool. I don't go to Twitch at all but, it's still a good feature to have.
I buy 60% of anything I need from Amazon and can't really complain- cables, gaming, clothes, medicine, shoes.
Though I have not tried Amazon Pantry... maybe I will give it a try- have you tried the pantry yet?

I must admit that I am crazy about Amazon Prime, including Prime Music and Prime Video.

I pretty much dig everything about Amazon. I would be lost without my Kindle Fire (I read a lot and occasionally watch videos on it when I am traveling).

My Echo (Alexa) is amazing, from playing music (great sound for such a small device!) to listening to news and weather, and even making my shopping list.

Yes, one might say I'm a bit of an Amazon nut!

I feel I am very late here. Amazon prime is a very good thing and helpful to many people as well. I don't use it as much as I used too before I still do sometimes though I just want the money going to something else besides from me buying things on Amazon. I don't watch videos or the music on Amazon prime really I mostly do the shopping stuff for it.

zanderlex : I was fortunate enough to get the Echo at a reduced price ($99) when the device was first launched. It is now priced at nearly $200, but I must say that if/when my Echo breaks down, I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

We use our Echo virtually every single day for one thing or another, whether it be for listening to music, news/weather, or just to make our shopping list (which is very convenient).

But, the Echo is always "learning", and it can do many other things, including working as a hub for controlling household lights and/or appliances (if you own "smart" home devices), and even ordering Amazon products via voice command.

I understand that the price of the Echo may be prohibitive, so I would recommend that folks do some in-depth research on the device (including a hands-on demonstration, if possible) before purchasing it, just to determine whether or not the Echo provides the features you desire.

Deacon DeMan : Cool, that is quite expensive for me so I wouldnt be able to get something like that for a looong time, but it sounds great and being able to learn is awesome as well, so maybe some day.
