I've been watching the Super Beard Bros. play 3D Dot Game Heroes for a bit now and I'm currently at part 9. It has an aesthetic I really dig and it seems to be extremely Zelda in its gameplay. I have the game myself and it's one of the reasons I wanted a PS3 but I don't have one yet. I'm a fan of the sound effects and they can be found at the Sounds Resource.They seem to love it and I enjoy watching that game be played. It checks all my LOZ: A Link to the Past boxes so far.

If you enjoy the retro Zelda titles, then I can almost guarantee you'll enjoy 3D Dot Game Heroes. I borrowed the game from a friend for a couple weeks, and it was a blast to play. All in all I feel like it was literally made exactly to be a Zelda clone changed just enough to not be sued (I mean the game even has a Hookshot lol), but that doesn't take anything away from the game. Though the giant sword aspect can be a little OP at times

I didn't think the story was quite as good and maybe a tad cliche, but the gameplay itself was on point.

Its a really great game.
Although, I feel like at some points, they don't give you a lot of direction and you end up wandering around.

I love 3D Dot Game Heroes, I picked up a copy about 3 or 4 years ago for cheap. I want to say $8.99 at a local game store I shop at. I love how you can make your own characters and so on. Then there are the pre made characters, like Santa Claus. That's pretty damn funny.

I definitely wouldn't be playing the game for its story, if you get my drift.  With the exception of completing the Dash Circuit mini game, Jirard and Alex certainly look to be enjoying themselves with "the brightest game on the planet" so far. Also, they're using a Link model and during the game changed to the same Link model but with a blue tunic; I assume they will change to the red tunic version later as well.
