Vizzed is back up and should be back to normal. If you notice anything wrong with the site after coming back up, please let me know ASAP.


EDIT: All Posts, Threads, Reviews, Guides, Articles and Private Messages made while the site was having issues didn't go through. There may have been other forms of content that wasn't able to go through during this time also. The reason for the site going down in the first place was due to the database server running out of disk space (I still don't know why that happened) so the database wasn't able to save the content of those things since it had no space to do so. Unfortunately there's no way to retrieve these things.

If you received a Private Message that isn't showing up and want to get rid of the message letting you know that you have New Private Messages, go to your Private Message inbox and click the 'Mark All As Read' link toward the top right of the page.

Not sure if there's any way to fix it at this point though.

Hey David, most of the features are working fine from my experience, but for some reason I can't view a PM that was sent during the "dead" time. I can see who it's from, but when I click "Private Messages", that message doesn't even show up in my inbox? What do I do? Thanks for your help. 

Awesome. Glad that's fixed. The only thing is that someone sent me a PM while Vizzed was having that database problem, so the private messages says I have one unread PM, but that message does not show up at all inside the private messages page.

But I guess I just clicked "marked all as read", and then told the user to resend the PM again. The RGR staff inbox also has the same problem with several messages not showing up, and I'm not sure how the staff can help those users now unless they resend their PM again.

Another thing is that some posts made in some threads (during the database problem I think) are not showing up, but it says they posted in the new posts page. Uh....so I knew about this problem, but when I just got back from eating Chinese....I refreshed the page to see ultrajeff has pmed me. So I go in and take a look, but its not in there like. Ok lemme show you what I mean

Along the lines of what Mohammed said, any CP, words, posts, etc made during the database issue doesn't show up in the TdV stats for the day either. I understand this is probably the last thing you're concerned about at the moment, I just wanted to point it out so you were aware that it's effecting this as well.

I'm a little disappointed the 30 or so CP / actions I got from song rating from doing so most of the time it was down doesn't count lol.

Thank you for addressing the problem so quickly. I'm sure a lot of users were upset they couldn't do anything on their favorite site. I know I was having Vizzed withdrawals myself XD

Any threads made or PM's sent while this problem was happening won't show up (as far as I can tell). I've got one of those as well and I can't access it. I'm not sure how we will have to go about clearing those out because they show up even though they aren't accessible.

David might have to clear PM's or something and we should likely close/trash any threads made that show up but have no content.

I have a private message notification that won't go away since I'm not able to view it. imamonster sent me 9,000 viz, which made the private message send. It's a minor thing, but it still kinda bugs me, ha.

The thing with PM's might not actually be because of whatever happened recently, there's already been a bug I have seen before that either Won't show PM's for a while, I will show pm notifications even if you have already read the PM. For instance, it says I have a PM from someone right now but I read that pm weeks ago.

The thing with PMs will be really bugging until it's cleared. We had several messages coming to the inbox during the down time, so while we can imagine their content, not being able to access them will leave that NEW icon there for a while.

It's strange how this happened so suddenly. Could it have a connection with David's profile picture not showing, which happened weeks ago when the new profiles were being worked on? Does this mean David is not done messing around?

It seems like there's not going to be any way to recover posts, PMs or otherwise give credit for actions made when the bug was active which is too bad. Seems like there's no other way to fix PM notifications than have David do it manually. Anyway the reason I posted was that I made a new thread in stead of the old one so no need to mind that anymore

I can confirm the Mark All As Read does work on the PM's and the handful of posts/threads made during the morning are lost.

This sort of thing happens on occasion. Thankfully the entire database didn't corrupt or something and we lost an entire week or month of activity.

Thanks for the info. I'll be sure to pass it along to anyone that asks about missing content. I remember firing up my laptop to find that the site was down and my initial thought was "Uh oh..." Glad it wasn't anything more serious.

i hope i put this in the right place but just today it's saying the plugin isn't installed using firefox

i got the problem fixed it was turned off for whatever reason under permissions
