We've all had our interest in the unknown and foreign landscapes that surround the Earth. We've always wanted to explore the land mass of neighboring countries. However, opinions regarding our nations of birth are heavily divided based on several factors, such as the economy. I obviously like my own country, Canada, due to it's freelance philosophy, good environment, friendly atmosphere, and beautiful landscape.

Do you like your country a lot? If so, why and how much do you like your country? Thanks for elaborating. You're too kind, friends.

Not really, no. As a matter of fact, I've all but renounced my citizenship. I feel like a majority of the voters my age have sold out for a few free table scraps and I feel not only totally unrepresented by our elected officials, but that they couldn't care less about me or anyone else on the civilian level. To be quite honest, I've grown to hate my government, and I don't think I need one. There was a point where I had thought about joining the military, and I greatly appreciate what they do. To volunteer to protect your land and people, even at the cost of your life is a very honorable and noble thing, but I wouldn't serve even if I was drafted. I'll fight for my people, my land and my beliefs, but never for a government that considers me to be little more than an Social Security Number that pays taxes and plays as a sacrificial pawn.

After all, it's the country I was born in. Despite it's own shortcomings, I love the USA especially on days where we remember the ones who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect this country. And we have all this gun violence in the United States. I heard somewhere that this country has the highest number of violent gun crimes in the world. But I don't actually know if it's true. But from these figures on this site, it sadly is.

America's okay, I guess. After all, I was born and raised here for all 15 years of my life. It's not like I have anything else to compare it to, since I haven't experienced any other life styles in different countries.

However, that might change very quickly soon. Because of the 2016 election, just the two people that are winning are kind of bad. So bad, that I asked my father if we could move to Canada if Trump wins. I've heard some nice things about that place.

Nah, the only reason I'm here is because I love my "family" and they're all here. The moment I step outside, there'll be no going back (career-wise). I'd just like to prolong my time here for a little while for the sake of being with them, but I'd definitely go outside the country sooner or later. It might be cold to say, but I'd rather further my career than stay here until my retirement. My career path is all about technology; I can't stay in a place where the normal net speed is 3mbps (for around 50 dollars) and the technologies being used(by the government) are old scraps from first world countries. Oh, want to know the usual monthly salary for entry levels (white collar)? Around 400 US dollars (less the 12% tax). Yeah, even if you're single with no other responsibilities whatsoever, nobody's gonna live off with just 400 dollars a month with our country's standard of living. That's why we have a ton of overseas workers. How about blue collar jobs? Cut 400 into half. And that's just only for the jobs in the main cities. Those that are located in rural areas or small cities definitely have lower wages.

Being able to study in a good university here is definitely a privilege and not a right (more or less 2000 dollars per sem, either 2 or 3 sems a year. Good luck saving). I've been one of those lucky fellas and I can tell you that most (if not all) of us were able to study in our current university because our parents (or relatives) are either currently working abroad or had already saved enough from working abroad to start and maintain a decent business in the Philippines as their main source of income.

So yeah, that's how hopeless this country is. It can't even provide for its own people.

I don't love my country; I only love my family and friends that's why I'm here.

Like all other Norwegian person. We do like your country very good. Even we hate it when the winter is raging outside of the window and the Celsius goes down toward -30 and we get 2m of snow. But towards the summer and the snow melts we start to like to live here again.

Thinking of moving to another country, but Norway is my home and will miss it to much. Of course it got so down sides, The price tag of everything. Just buying food for two can cost a lot of money. But still I grew up in Norway and going to die here.

It have ups and downs, but in the end nothing of that matters since i love Norway and will always do

I love my country and the freedoms that we have been granted. I hate the idiots that are ruining the country. We are a strong people and the freedoms that we enjoy have been paid for in blood by great men and women. Those same freedoms that are constantly threatened by idiotic people, short sighted politicians, and people that care nothing for what those sacred words mean, "We The People".

We are not perfect, never claimed to be,but considering we are one of the younger nations in the world,we have done pretty well for ourselves.

I love Canada. In no way would I ever want to leave this place. The people here are nice, we have a good Prime Minister that is much better than our last one, and that the cities here are really nice. Although we have horrible winters here, you'll adapt to it after one year of experiencing it.

Also a lot of other countries love us a lot.

I do love the netherlands I guess but in no way is it a perfect country.  For some reason we actually have had nice weather for the last few days, crazy.

Do I like it? Yeah, I do. Would I like to move? Well, I do want to move to Egypt for a few years when I get older, but no I wouldn't want to move permanently.

Speaking of Egypt.

It's my second country (I am half dutch and half egyptian) and I do really love it. Most of my family is there as well. (Cairo, to be specific)

I WIn Also :   Toward -30 Celsius!? Mental.

I personally find the concept of pride strange. Be it for being a minority or from a country, why should one be "proud" of something one has (most likely) no control over? I can't help but find that concept a little collectivist; because of arbitrary traits one must feel pride.

That being said, I always have admiration for
individuals coming from many countries. The Founding Fathers of the US, despite often acting contrary to the core beliefs of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, are still to be admired for the effort (now proved to be futile) to limit government in order to maximize freedom. The same thing goes for scientists like Albert Einstein, philosophers like Ayn Rand and Karl Popper or "random" people like Adam Kokesh or Edward Snowden.

Bottom line: look at the individuals rather than the group. Even dictatorships like the USSR and China still "produced" great individuals, whereas so-called democracies like the US produced fascists like Donald Trump and pretty much every president the country has had.

You're misinterpreting my question. I'm not asking about the individuals; I'm asking how you personally feel about living in your country. Plus, the intense love of one's country is called patriotism, man.

Yes, I do love my country Lebanon, even though it often faces many problems. It's my home country, and whether it is destroyed or not it will remain my home.

I'd do my best to fix its flaws.

Those are very good questions, to which I have answers. Yes, I love my country, the United States of America. I love it to a certain extent, unfortunately.

One reason I love it so is I have both sides of my family who've served in the military and have retired. I don't think I have any relatives that died on the battlefield or on duty-- and if I'm wrong, then it's probably a touchy subject that both sides do not like to discuss.

Another reason is the city I live in has a good environment. There's healthy plants, clean water, and crime rate is low. There are people who are narrow minded, busybodies, and like to cause drama. However, you'll find them everywhere else in the world, no matter how hard you try to avoid being in the same room as them. The schools around here are okay, I guess. I'm not sure about the public or private schools, but the home schools are good; only problem I had with them is the workload. Weather wise, it's pretty terrible. One day it'll be nice and sunny, then the next it'll down pour like there's no tomorrow. For the overall country, I'd say it's pretty good. There are different areas that harbor different weathers. It's fun seeing and experiencing those unique distinct places in the US, especially with family.

I won't touch upon government stuff, since I practically hate what has become of our country. I don't want to flood your thread with angry posts about the US government officials and the people who are for those officials.

I believe that's it for me! Hope you have a wonderful day, my friend.

I honestly can not say I love any country on this planet. They are just a set of arbitrary borders that have been established through much bloodshed. That being said, I do admire individuals from these countries that have made human life so much easier: Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Henry Ford, Marie Curie, Steve Jobs...

I guess that, as a general rule, I admire a country that lets its citizens live their lives as long as they don't murder or steal anyone. As of now, there are not that many countries that fit this description, unfortunately.

Do it love it? Not really. I kind of like the USA, we have freedom and a lot of things that other countries don't have. However, with all of the chaos that is currently happening here in the USA, it isn't the best that it has ever been. We currently have a goverment that is about to go into a pretty bad 4 years after this election, and with all of the shootings and stuff it really isn't the best.

We also aren't too focused on climate change... which needs to change...
