Yeah, I'm still alive, and I'm actually doing very well. It's been a while since I've posted, so I figured an update might be a good idea. Most of you probably don't care, but some of you might. Whatever, gives me a reason to post lol.

So I got a job for this summer, working as a camp counselor. The camp I am working at is owned by one of the directors of the camp that I went to for 8 years (that camp closed down last summer) and some people from the old camp transferred over to the new camp. I'll be making $1300 for the summer, which is a whopping $4 per hour. I need Bernie Sanders! Lmao.

Oh, and yesterday was the best day of my life. Some of you guys might remember my friend Julia from previous posts. Well we went to my junior prom together back in April (as friends). We went to her junior prom yesterday as friends too. Well... sort of. She kinda kissed me. 3 times. Yeah, so much for "just friends".

I'm still on a high from last night, nothing in the world can make me unhappy right now lol.

So yeah, that's pretty much it. How's everything been for you guys? Anything interesting happen in your lives or on the site since I've been gone?

Check with the contract with what your hours are and what you're getting paid, plus expenses because they (a) might be illegal with the pay or (b) it doesn't count if you're in overnight camp and you're technically making money in your sleep. That's not a part of it and you can't do the math like that because it's not fair.

Just remember to let the kids talk and explore their feelings and emotions. Don't yell at them. That's the quickest way to destroy the relationships you may develop and you'll be surprised at how many friends you make and how important you are to a lot of these kids who otherwise don't have strong social connections. Make it happen for them.

Ghostbear1111 : Since the camp is only open for 8 weeks out of the year they are allowed to pay less than minimum wage, it's perfectly legal. And I'm fine with that pay, I'd much rather work a fun job making $4/hr than a boring job making $8/hr. It's not like I need the money, it's really just so I have something to do over the summer lol. (It's a day camp btw, not an overnight camp)

I was a "counselor in training" (aka a counselor that doesn't get paid) for two years at the old camp, so I have plenty of experience working with kids in a camp environment.

Oh, and just to clarify, the Bernie Sanders thing was a joke, he's a moron.

That sounded like an amazing experience! Being a camp counselor is a big responsibility. I'm sure you made plenty of friends through that, right? At least $4 an hour is...Eh you aren't living off of it. But that is nothing to sneeze at, you can at least get yourself Pokemon Sun and Moon.

Camp counselor, huh? Not a bad thing to put on a resume, especially if you want to keep doing stuff like that. Honestly, I'd check with the camp if that's the actual pay, but a little pocket money isn't bad, especially for the summer.

Dude, congrats with Julia! I remember what had been going on with you and her and prom and the drama around it, and how disappointed you had been. Hey, it turned around and I hope it keeps going man! Be good to her!

Oats : At the interview he said it's $1300 for the summer plus an additional $150 attendance bonus if I'm there every day. I get a raise every summer that I go back though.

We haven't talked that much but any update from a Vizzed member is welcome. That's some good news. I worked as a camp counselor last summer, it has been a great experience. One of the best experiences to add to my job part of life to be honest. I'm glad to hear you're doing better, man. Wish I could say the same, frankly. Oh well, maybe one day I'll be able to tell better days (besides me working on a video game ).
