My first thread in...well, quite a long a time. So of course, I decided to make it about a controversial subject. Like, why not!? I mean, what's more controversial than Sonic The Hedgehog, when it comes to video games anyways. That being said, let's be civil about the whole thing (I.E if someones favorite isn't Sonic Adventure 2 then don't wish terrible things on them. I know it may be hard, but I think you can do it if you try ). Just respect other peoples opinion. If someone likes Shadow The Hedgehog or Sonic and The Black Knight, just respect that and move on. Also please don't get into the whole debate about how Sonic sucks and his last few games have been good and then Sonic boom ruined it all. Simply say your favorite game, say some stuff you like about it, you get the idea. Thank you.


I basically made this thread since I plan to review Sonic Colors this weekend. I'm gonna get sidetracked here for a second and say I've only written three reviews, and I only like one of them. So I plan to get into reviewing again, this time making sure the quality is much higher. I know it has nothing to do with the topic, so please don't kill me.


As for my favorite, I'm gonna have to say Sonic Colors. It really got Sonic back up on his feet. It has fantastic graphics for a Wii game, one of the best Sonic soundtracks ever, a good plot and writing with some cringeworthy moments/jokes here and there, really good level design, and above all, it's "FUN". A game may have an epic, open world. It may have a darker, more serious story. It may be long than 5-6 hours, however, Sonic Colors is simply a fun game. It has nearly no frustrating moments. Love the 2D Genesis Sonic games (I know I do) but you can't deny that they had some bullcrap/frustrating levels. Sonic Colors isn't like that, with the exception of one or two moments on some levels here and there, it's a carefree, fun, lighthearted adventure, that may be short, and generally really easy, but the game is simply a ton of fun to play.

So, how about you?

My favorite Sonic game would be Sonic 06 believe it or not, luckily it's my favorite for the wrong reasons. I like it for it's broken gameplay, and stupid story. It's something me and my friends could play and just laugh at. So I like Sonic 06 in the Troll 2 sense, it's fun to laugh at bad games

If I had to pick a single title, it would be Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. Me and some friends growing up all played it together for a LONG time and I have a lot of great memories associated with the game. And dear god that chao breeding without a guide to follow was a pain in my butt...

My favorite Sonic game is definitely Sonic Colors. The bosses are really fun, and I feel pretty comfortable with its gameplay. Sadly, my Wii probably died because of a thunder, so I can't play it anymore :'(. I still have hope, though. I'll do my best to revive its power.

Personally my favorite Sonic game is Shadow the Hedgehog mainly because you get to choose to be heroic or evil and it somehow incorporates guns in the game which was a interesting decision for the developers. It also has multiplayer in the campaign as a team or against each other. I remember playing this game in my childhood multiple times for the Gamecube and Playstation 2.

Ooooh nice to hear the variation so far on people's favourite sonic games. My personal favourite is still probably Sonic Generations. Or at least, half of it. I'm still not huge on 2D platforming, but I adored all of Modern Sonic's stages to death. Especially Rooftop Run. Most fun I've ever had in a sonic game. Made it tempting to get Sonic Unleashed until I remembered that the Wii version split up the werehog stages for whatever reason .-.

I am not a massive fan of any sonic game to be honest.

I would say sonic and all stars racing transformed, with number 2 being sonic on the master system and game gear.

Sonic and all stars racing transformed, while really overrated is still good and enjoyable.

For the 2d ones, probably Sonic 1. And for the 3d ones, my favourite is either Sonic Heroes or Sonic Adventure 1.

I'm gonna be boring and say generations. It is a good mix between classic and modern sonic and an awesome soundtrack to go with it (I can't think of a sonic game that doesn't have a good soundtrack with maybe the exception of the game gear games)

My favorite Sonic game is Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. In my opinion, it had the best storyline, the best gameplay, all of it. Besides the cutscenes.

Hard to pick there is sonic 2 then sonic 3d Saturn and then there is sonic heroes....I'll go with sonic heroes. I've loved this game more as I played through it. I've come to love how the gameplay is and how its not just sonic that time around. Its knuckles and tails so you have to work with them as a team, together and not to work alone which I find more fun about. I really enjoy playing it so I tend to repeat by playing it over and over again. XD

I can easily choose... No wait, this is hard, I actually love both Sonic Adventure 2 and Generations.

Well I've beaten SA2 so I guess that one wins, besides I live the Chaos, and the story is my favorite generally.
The controls are a bit... Off to say the least, but it's no problem when I can throw Chaos around and exploit the animal glitch.

For me it's definitely Sonic Colors, it was my very first sonic game, and to me is by far one of the greatest. The game encourages both speed and exploration, and eventually you do get to turn into super sonic. Though I sadly have not been able to experience that. The music and graphics are incredible. The gameplay is equally so. Also, I love the scoring and ranking systems in the game. The story clips are also amusing to say the least, and I feel that this game captures the spirit of the sonic franchise the best. Plus, the opening scene is beautiful and awe-inspiring

I'd say my favorite One was the Original Sonic the hedgehog game that started everything,   It felt right,  sprites moved fast, controls were brillantly tight, and the traps weren't cheap either.     And I could actually get to the 3rd level.

I've tried number 2 but I felt the difficulty went up too fast(no pun intended) after the first level., And I've also tried sonic 3 but I never got into it.

I really enjoy playing the first three Sonic The Hedgehog games, and then throw in Sonic & Knuckles, but when it comes to modern Sonic games, nothing can beat Sonic Generations. I think that game is a lot of fun, it adds a mixture of both modern and classic (fat) Sonic lol. But out of the first 3, I'd say Sonic 2 is the best out of them, but the other 2 are not awful. I know that Sonic 3D Blast gets a lot of crap, but I enjoy that game, sure it has it's flaws, but for it's time, I enjoyed it. Then again, I rented it a ton as a kid. So every time I play it anymore, it's like a huge dose of nostalgia.

I am glad Sega is finally doing something with the Sonic series, and it's not mobile gaming. Sonic Mania looks awesome, and even that whole Project Sonic 2017 thing looks interesting as well. Especially since they are bringing classic Sonic back.

I haven't played many Sonic games, actually. I remember playing one of the earlier Sonic games on the computer back in the day.... But the only Sonic game I've recently played a lot was Sonic Heroes. Which is.... meh. Honestly, that's it, really. So I guess Sonic Heroes is my favourite.

I've never really played the Sonic games. I own a copy of the Sega mega collection for my gamecube, so I've tried the older ones and found them entertaining for a while. I'd have to say my favorite is Sonic Heroes though. Mainly because it was the first Sonic game I ever played, and I also think it's actually very fun!

I really liked Sonic and the secret rings for the Wii. 

I was never a huge sonic player, but this game was moderately good, and when I really liked the wii so I might be a little biased for it but ya know. 

My favorite is shadow the hedgehog if you count that a sonic game.

   Out of the more recent sonic games I'd say sonic lost world (3ds version)  of all time though it would have to be a tie between sonic 3 and knuckles and Sonic 2.   Besides  those games however I would also recommend the original sonic, spinball (not the best game but a good change of pace from the other sonic games), adventure  1-2, Heroes, and generations.
