Are you a power up rewards member? Do you actively use their benefits? I've been a regular member for about a year and then I have been a pro member for the last couple of years and I use the membership as best as I can. First off, paying $15 a year to get 12 issues of Game Informer is amazing, I used to buy the magazine for like $5 per issue before this.

I used to love racking up points and i used to play games on Kongregate every day because they have a partnership with Gamestop that allows you to get points for doing specific things in games and I used to use the points for everything from gift cards, to posters and other little things.

What about you? What are your thoughts on Power Up Rewards?

zanderlex : I do use Power Up Rewards! I have the basic membership, but I still use the benefits that it comes with. I also use Kongregate to get the extra points!

I was a member for the past year, but it may have expired. I don't remember if you need to renew the membership once a year or not. All I know for sure is last month (or maybe the month before?) my Game Informer subscription ran out and I'm currently too broke to get it back. Either way I used it as much as I could, and got quite a few deals from the shop.

I used to be but now I'm not because I haven't purchased any video games recently and it just happened to expired. I have no interest in Game Informer magazines but if I ever did I could just borrow one from my friends. I must admit though that I probably saved hundreds of dollars when I was a power Up Rewards member especially back when they had Gamecube games at my nearest retailer.

austinpokedude: Oh the pro is definitely worth it even if you just use the discount and not the points or game informer. I could go to any used game at any Gamestop, see the pre owned price and then see the membership price which is usually like $2-4 cheaper. Just buying a few games in one visit can easily make up for the price.

I'm a power rewards member, but I don't use my points very often. I was able to get a few good things the few times I did, though.

I had a Powerup Rewards Pro membership for a while. Really only got it for the Game Informer subscription. I never renewed, though. I hardly ever walk into a Game Stop because we can't afford new stuff and I can usually get a far better price by patiently watching eBay listings.

I was with Kongregate for a couple years before Game Stop had anything to do with them. I kinduh hate them for what they did to Kongregate.... It was a rough place to begin with, but after they started associating with Game Stop, the whole site was completely over run and hijacked by one of the most toxic "communities" I have ever seen. The language is awful, the users are hostile beyond description.... There was even a person that admitted to enjoying kid's company a little too much... It's essentially gaming hell now.
