This is the first time I have visited Vizzed in a few months. I have played the Pokémon Emerald emulator for over a year. However, coming back this evening I discovered it was removed by Nintendo of America. Any plans for a solution? If so, will my game data be saved or will I have to restart? Thank you,

ltdRhiannon : Thing are fuzzy at this point, as everything has happened only just today. However, all your data, I believe, is saved locally. As long as the files are unharmed on your computer, your progress should be fine.

EDIT: Also, welcome back to the site. It looks like they're having a discussion on how the site's going to proceed as we speak, so if you hang on for a little while, we may get things back up and running.

ltdRhiannon : the game you were playing wasn't the only one taken off the site I lost access to nearly all the gamez I'm playing on here so this is a huge blow to my gaming as well




m0ssb3rg935 : I'm glad to hear that the data is being saved on the site so if we do get the gamez back we won't have to start from scratch because I'm sure it would make alot of people mad if they had to start all over from the beginning once we gotz the gamez back and they were either close to beating the game or nearly half way to that point ... I wouldn't mind it on most games but some of these hacks are harder then others so starting from scratch would be frustrating to many people

I mean as I said before in my other posts on the site I can understand them taking the games that are just uploaded versions of real life games like Pokemon Red, Blue, Ruby, Emerald, and others like them but for them to also have the rom hacks that were only using those games as a base but changed everything else from the starters you choose to the layout you run through and some of the homebrew games it is sorta ridiculous and very shady to me I reallyz hope they didn't just shut them down so they can use them for real life games later and not have to give it's original creator any shred of credit for making it because it isn't like the poor person would stand a chance should they try to sue Nintendo for game theft

Jygin : Nah, they wouldn't use hacks and market them for themselves. They had him take down the hacks because they own the name and characters.

If you press the Windows key and R at the same time and type C:ProgramDataVizzedVizzedRgrPluginUser-[numbers here] and press enter, you'll find all your game data by emulator. This includes emulator settings, save data and save states. Most likely not a good idea to move them, though. I'd leave them where they are.

m0ssb3rg935 : most of the hacks the took down had character renames in them or original characters that you don't find in the game along with fakemon

Jygin : Technically, if anything is used from the original, Nintendo can make a copyright claim. It's kinda a gray area, and it might not hold up in court, but who wants to fight against a big corporation like Nintendo over a free rom hack.
