Ok, so I accidently left the Micro SD card I bought for my new phone at home, so instead of waiting to get home to get it and then wait a few days to use it, I took an MSD card out of my other phone and put that into this phone instead but it doesnt seem to work.

First off, I cant download apps and stuff to the SD card, the only thing that I can do is move apps from Internal storage to the MSD card, and even if I do that, it still doesnt work. I moved a bunch of apps, like 1.3 GB worth of stuff, but that amount wasn't freed up on the Internal storage and it says there's still the same amount of space on the MSD card, even though it says that the app is on the card.

What should I do about this? Do I need to do something to the SD card?

zanderlex: That sucks being there countless times. I looked into this on some forums here are recommendations:
  1.  Download this SD Card Transfer App on your phone https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sdcard.jlapp.appsd&hl=en

  2. Looking into the SD card itself using your computer and see what is in there while it is not in the phone itself. Apps like Astro let you manage those folders and view their actual file size.

  3. Or try downloading SD card manager app on your phone

Hope you get the problem fixed!

I fialy got to the point where I can transfer stuff o the SD card, but I can't actually click on the SD card and see what's there, it just shows how much GB is left, not even how much is being used.

Are you on an Android?

If so, you can go to Settings > Storage and scroll down.
It should show the storage space available and then a breakdown of what is using storage space.

Vanelan : I am on an Andorid, and whenever I do that, it never moves everything. For instance, I have a .93 GB game, and when I tried to move it, only about .1 GB went to the card while the rest stayed on the phone.

I still have like 14.3 GB left on the card and cant use any of it

Have you tried plugging it into a different device? I had this happen to me once when my MiSD card started dying. Maybe it became corrupt somehow? Maybe take the files off and try re-formatting it?

Jordanv78 : This is the SD card that I've been using on my normal phone for months, and after this happened I put it back into my normal phone and it still works with that.

If I knew it wasn't going to work, I probably shouldn't have deleted everything and just kept it in the other phone.

zanderlex : What do you mean by your "normal phone"?

Depending on what kind of phone it is that isn't working, are you sure the slot on that phone is working? Have you tried a different MiSD card on it?

Jordanv78 : You know, my normal phone, where I do homework, my job, post, use the internet, text people, etc.

I'm pretty sure the slot I'd find or else I wouldn't be able to use the card at all, but I can use parts of it.

zanderlex : So whats the other phone called? The abnormal phone?

I'm just trying to figure out what the problem might be. I've seen some people talk about Malware issues that sound similar. Just not sure why it would work on one phone and not the other. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Jordanv78 : Uh, I believe the abnormal phone is a LG exceed 2. It's funny because on the page it says the phone takes SD cards up to 32GB.

zanderlex : I don't want to hijack this thread, I just think it's funny you call one phone your normal phone. That's basically what I'm getting at. So I was wondering what you called the other phone.

Anyways the only real stuff I see in conjunction to Micro SD issues with that phone is running app data from the SD card, but not the specific stuff that you are experiencing. Although I only looked around for a few mins on google.

zanderlex : You are trying to move apps over on the secondary phone?
There is only a certain amount of data an app can move to an SD card.
I have no idea how its determined how much can be moved...

If you want to try one, there are apps that allow you to install apps directly to the SD card, but if you are moving it between phones, it might cause issues.

I think its worthwhile to get a new SD card.
There should be a Microcenter fairly close to you. You can get a 32GB for $8.

Jordanv78 : My other phone is my engagement phone. That's strange I guess.

Vanelan : Its not moving between phones, its staying on one phone. I don't think I need a new SD card get, I have a stash, about 600 GB worth of MSD cards.

My phone is being even more ridiculous now. I try to download an app from google play and it says I don't have enough space. I go to storage settings and it says I have 200 MB left on my phone, and 14 GB on the SD card, which I still can't use.

I get rid of a game that's like 90 MB and I try the download again. It works this time, but guess how much space the app took up that I downloaded? Everything, data and all was less than 5 MB.
