Alright so we decided to lump all of the rules into a single thread because it makes more sense than having separate threads and it's neater and I am a neat freak so why not? Also some rules have been added, some removed, and some
updated, so please read them carefully. Thank you.
Rules For Posting Stories, Poetry, Or Any Other Form Of Literature
1. Stories must be at least 200 words
2. You must remove your layout before posting a story, poem or any other piece of literature.
3. No "Post your fan fictions/poems/stories/etc. here." threads. Each person's writing will have it's own thread, and a thread listing them all is not needed.
4. Use proper grammar.
Additionally we ask that you format dialogue in your stories in the following manner:
"I love pringles." Mudkip said.
"They do taste good" said Eirinn.
Instead of this way:
Mudkip: I love Pringles.
Or
"I love Pringles." Mudkip said. "They do taste good." Eirinn replied.
However this is no longer a rule, but again, please do try to use the preferred format if you are able. If you wish to but don't understand how it works, contact a Mod of the Stories/Simulation/Art forum for help.
Rules For Posting Artwork Or Other Images
5. No inappropriate images. If you are not sure if your artwork or other images are considered inappropriate on Vizzed, please contact a Moderator of the Stories/Simulation/Art forum.
6. Do not post images that you do not have the rights to.
Rules For RolePlaying
7. No one liners. If you can think of nothing to post but "[
insert character's name here] smiled and nodded" or some short comment they made, wait until you have more to work with. Use plenty of detail. Try describing the look on their face when they talk, where they are, their stance, or anything.
8. Be respectful of others.
9. Let the RP Master lead. Every RP has an RP Master (the person that made the RP), and they may at times nudge you in a certain direction: follow that lead. Anything less will risk breaking the RP.
10. No "godmodding". Godmodding is what you call it when someone makes their character invincible, or controls another player's character or NPC. In a fight your character cannot possibly evade every single attack and always land theirs. Your character can be hit, hurt, or defeated, just like anyone else's. And remember the final outcome of a fight is decided by the RP Master unless they say otherwise.
Exception to rule 10:
Bear in mind that an RP is an interactive story, and as such your RP Master has a plan and knows where he/she wants it to go. This may require them controlling your character, or even killing them. This is permitted, and your participation in the RP is taken as agreeing to these terms.
In short: the RP Master is allowed to godmod, but they are the
only member in an RP that is allowed to do so. This applies to all RPs.
11. Let others play too. You do not always have to be the hero or solve the puzzle etc. Remember others are playing to, and everyone deserves their time in the limelight. If you defeated the last bad guy/solved the last puzzle/overcame the last obstacle/etc. try leaving the next one to someone else unless the RP Master dictates otherwise.
That is all. Now go have fun, my little puddings. And be sure to keep an eye out for
updates to these rules (but we know you won't, because who does that?
)
