GamerKId303 : There was an issue with regards to Knuckles Chaotix loading with the Mess emulator, so I went ahead an marked it so. I tested it in Gens though, and it works fine. So for that Game, use the Gens emulator.

With regards to the Sonic Jam game, I was able to test it just fine, but it's VERY glitchy and has already been marked at such because it's just a game that doesn't play well with the emulators the RGR plugin uses.

You could report the Sonic jam game in this thread and see if tRIUNE can find a copy that's able to be emulated a little better but I think this is one of those games that just doesn't emulate well. https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=12103

In the meantime, you are better off just playing the individual sonic games on the site. (Since Sonic Jam is just a compilation disk) Vizzed has all of them.

Jordanv78 : For both games it wont let me redefine keys to my liking. I'm using a keyboard and I cant move at all. BUT in Chaotix the U and B keys both pause the game...

GamerKId303 : I was able to succesffully re-configure my controls in both games.

For Chaotix, you need to double click the game screen to get the controls menu to come up. Have you done this?

For the Sonic Jam game, to bring the menu up you need to press the ESC key on your keyboard, then choose "input this game"

Jordanv78 : Ok, so when I play Sonic Jam, it shows the title screen but I can't press anything, including ESC button. For Knuckles Chaotix I can press redefine keys but it would stuck on saying, Chose key for up, and nothing would work. This is weird because I was able to pay both these games fine before.

GamerKId303 : Similar to what I said in my previous post, Sonic Jam barely is able to be emulated on this site with the emulators the RGR plugin uses in it's current form, so unless we can find a replacement file that works better, I would hold off on that game. It's very glitchy/choppy and it sounds like your computer is having a hard time running it period. The lag would point towards the most likely cause there.

As far as Chaotix goes I just tested it again myself and noticed that for some reason, the GENS emulator is now allowing the controls to be re-configured to keyboard keys. I can re-configure a controller just fine but it doesn't seem to be recognizing the keyboard...and this is happening across the board for the GENS emulator.

tRIUNE : Not sure when the situation with GENS and not recognizing the keyboard started, because I never use the keyboard for controls. Any insight on that issue? Or the Sonic Jam emulation issue? Does a better file exist?

Jordanv78 : The keyboard works for me with Knuckles Chaotix, and I'm able to configure the controls fine. This isn't a new problem and unfortunately I have no idea of the cause or solution. Here is one example of the same problem, which was 4 years ago:

tRIUNE : That's so strange. I don't remember ever having that issues with Gens before, then again I haven't used my keyboard as a controller in a long time.

Jordanv78 : Knuckles Chaotix is finally working I can move around. But only one more problem, I can't configure any controls. I double clicked and press redefine keys, then it says input a key for up. Then I can't press anything. I tried a new browser and reinstalled Vizzed emulator. But I still can't change controllers. Any ideas please.

GamerKId303 : Yeah, that is the problem that I was talking about with tRIUNE before. The Gens emulator doesn't seem to be recognizing keyboard controls for some people. Not really sure why that is. Refer to the previous posts from myself and tRIUNE.

Jordanv78 : Is there a way to use a different emulator? Like the Mednafen Emulator? (That's my favorite one to use) Or am I stuck only using the Gens/Mess emulator?

Unfortunately, you can't use MEDNAFEN for Genesis.
Genesis emulation for Mednafen is experimental at this point, so it has not been implemented into the RGR.

I don't have another solution, sorry.

Mednafen is available for Genesis , but not for Saturn.

tRIUNE : Don't worry about it! I finally got it working! After playing with some files. Now it recognizes my keyboard (kinda, there's still some bugs and glitches) Thank you Jordanv78, tRIUNE, and Vanelan.
