So last week, I was at school, shooting hoops with my friends.
we stopped to look at a little rabbit hopping around near the court.
suddenly, a massive hawk swooped down and grabbed it.
a few seconds later, the hawk came plummeting down.
the rabbit took a chunk out of its wing!
I checked if the bunny was okay, and he was just a bit scratched up.
Like the thread title says, rabbits are at the top of the food chain. (at least that one)

wow, that's crazy.

I know rabbits can be quite vicious. My kids always try and go near them and I tell them not to. Rabbits will attack and kill cats or small dogs if they get scared or cornered. They are WAY tougher than they look. I wouldn't mess with one myself. I've seen Monty Python's Holy Grail movie and you never know which rabbit you're messing with

Welp, you just gave me a phobia of rabbits...

Anyway, I totally agree with you. Rabbits are awesome, and they deserve to be at the top of the food chain.

And they said that nature is all in order, nope. Unless the rabbit is the Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog (Monty Python reference), then I see that as a possibility.

Has the world come to this, the food chain is running backwards.

Oh my that does sound rather strange but as someone always say smaller animals are better than big ones when it comes to fighting. The rabbit was only hopping and the hawk got what was coming to it. If it went to go and dare by attacking it. Rabbits have a fascinating way of depending themselves when it comes to fighting and this shows that.

Well, we all know what Bugz does so it doesn't surprise me.

Now seriously:

I wouldn't call them top of the food chain but rabbits are some of the fiercest animals I know of. I've never seen a rabbit do that to a hawk but I've seen a Squirrel the size of a small cat take down a hawk by biting into it's neck.

For a moment I thought you would be referring to Monty Python .

Well, I guess that these things happen. It is not like preys just mindlessly accept their faiths.

I can fully support this theory.

Mainly because I chased one as a kid (I had a
huge yard and some woods back then), and it ran from me for a few minutes, and then turned around and bit me. It didn't hurt, I had shoes on, but I was terrified and ran away.

They're so soft and fluffy though!

You'd better avoid messing with that rabbit. It's the most dangerous living thing is existence! The only thing that can defeat it is a Holy Hand Grenade! Sorry, just had to make the Monty Python reference.

That is an amazing thing to see. I guess that rabbit rejected the food chain and substituted its own.

If you say they are at the top of the food chain, lol. But seriously, those little fluffy bastards can leave a nasty bite. That rabbit better pray I do not read from the Book of Armaments and have a Holy Hand Grenade lying around. I think we all loved that part of the Monty Python movie. That and the Black Knight and the French Taunter.

My wife and I have always loved having rabbits as pets.  It is true that they all have their own personality and some of them are docile while others can be quite aggressive.  We had a Flemish giant that was 10 lbs.  There were at least 2 occasions that I can recall off the top of my head where she attacked a cat that was stalking her and sent the cat packing.  I'm convinced that she though she was a dog.  She would come when I called her name and when my cousin came over to hang out she wouldn't let him pass her in the hallway of our house.  It was the funniest thing hearing him call out.  "Can you please come get your rabbit it looks like it's going to attack me?"

I remember living with a friend out in a country-ish area. There was a stray cat that lived around the apartment complex. It was pretty big for a cat, and it was a boss at fighting. Any other animal that came close to her parking lot got tore up. I saw dogs 5 times her size run away scared. She even chased away a deer at one point. The surprising thing was she loved people to no end. We'd bring her up to the apartment two or three times a week and she'd spend the night. We even had a dog and cat we taught her to get along with. Our nickname for her was "Megatron" because of her size and attitude.
But anyway she would kill squirrels and rabbits she came across pretty often so that's what made me think of it. I miss that cat dearly
