Making a different way to save the game would be impossible, because the only other way to make saves would be to make in game saves and in order to do that, you would need to actually change the game, which nobody here can do, only the developers.

Of course, there are games that have in game saving, like Pokemon, which don't need F2 to be used, but if the game does not have in game saves, then there's really no other way at all to save games.

Maybe some hacks could get save buttons, but if a real game doesn't aleady have a save button, then it won't be getting one.

Essentially yes: if the game did not have a built-in save feature when it was originally released, either on the cartridge or by use of a memory card, then it will not have one on Vizzed. Pressing F2 creates what is called a "save state" which is an emulation feature (and I'm sure someone can explain this part better than I can) that creates a point in memory where the game was running. Loading your save state goes back to that exact point when you had that exact score, number of lives, and so on. The save state, just like a memory card file, is saved in your Vizzed folder so that you can come back later and continue from that exact point.

But anyway, if the game does not have a built-in save feature, then nothing can be done. A lot of older games are like this. If you were playing Super Mario Bros back in 1985, you couldn't save! Once you turned off the NES, you had to start over at World 1-1! Vizzed emulates the games (or tries to) exactly as they were on the day they were released.

Hope that answers your question!

So, F2 doesn't work for you... I'm assuming you are using a laptop.

If so, you need to hold down the Fn key while pressing F2 or F4.
(the Function keys have different functions with and without the Fn key)

Arcade_Killer1 : To be honest, that would be a big waste of time. Adding something like that isn't as easy as it sounds, and it isn't worth spending time on when you can just as easily press F2 and F4. In fact, it's probably even easier to press a key than move your cursor all the way over to a button and click it.
