Do you watch the news on your TV often or not? Why or why not? Is there a certain point when you watch it where you feel you've heard enough and really want to change the channel?

I really should watch it more, but I very rarely watch the news on TV. I don't read it in newspapers much either. Most of the news I see on television is politics or negative things I don't want to hear about. However, some of it is important so I watch it anyway. I usually feel like I've had enough and want to find something else to watch after about 10 minutes.

I don't like to watch the news on TV simply because it's way too complicated for me. I don't like to have somebody in my face explain to me "The humidity today is ___, the rain chance is ___, the temperature today through next week is ____ blah blah." I simply like to get a newspaper, look for the weather article, and figure it out by myself.

weeniedog12 : Lol I know the feeling. When I check the weather news, especially if there might be a 2-hour delay or closing for my school, I only want to know the temperature and how much precipitation there should be for the day.

I watch the news, local and the Nightly News everyday except for football Sunday for obvious reasons. I feel like it's important to keep up with what's going on in the world and in my viewing area. Also, it's important for me to keep up on the weather so that I know whether or not to put on a rain jacket.

Well I don't really watch news on T.V., but I do keep a constant stream of news on my second monitor that updates about every ~5 minutes. It's divided between real world news (all the depressing stuff you see on the news and in newspapers) and gaming news (I use it so that why whenever a friend asks a question, I can feel like a genius and always know the answer to his gaming question haha).

Skilledtree : Nice! I never knew I could get something like that. That would really come in handy for me sometimes. I have a news and weather app on my phone that seems to update constantly. But it isn't always convenient since it requires Wi-Fi and sometimes it gives me notifications a lot more than I want it to.

I don't really watch a lot of TV, so by extension, I don't end up catching a lot of news. I'd honestly say that I find out about news or current events more through reading it on my phone than through watching TV. Sometimes I might just walk in the living room and find my parents watching news and I'll end up catching bits and pieces of it.

I've recently had to get in the habit of watching news more for my Government class (even then, I don't watch it very often) to keep up with what's happening. In the end though, a lot of it is insignificant and I really don't care about it that much. I pay attention to important/big news though, either through reading or hearing about it from someone else. I'm not really too worried about not being up to date with the news because with the rapid rate people communicate and share information with each other, I'll more than likely be brought up to speed with the latest news no longer than 24 hours after the event has happened. It's scary how fast information spreads.

These days, I don't really watch much news on TV, unless something serious is going on near me. IE horrible storms, or other emergency situation.

I feel like TV news is too biased as to what they report and the way they report it. I like my news without opinion, so I usually chose to read straight news wires and make my own opinions regarding it.

I don't watch the news at all, haven't seen it on my own probably in more than a year. That's because I don't watch TV that much, so when I do, I want to make sure that I watch something that would interest me instead. Besides, we get our news on the internet way before the TV gets it so what's the point?

I never cared about the news until I started to pay real taxes. Then for some reason these things became more important to me. No idea why. I like to see where my money is being squandered. News on television and most media anymore is a joke. Fox will tell you what's actually happening, with their bias thrown in. The other US news outlets don't even report the facts until they've been thoroughly filtered. The major media tries to dictate what the public cares about for the most part while ignoring stories that don't fit a particular agenda. ps - only people kill people. (maybe a shark or a flood(NOT caused by global warming))

I watch our local news channel from time to time, because I really like it. I don't watch major new outlets though.

I rarely watch the News,Because I'm more attached to my NES,Including the "Wild Gunman" game,that makes me being attached to the TV,With eyes going red till morning.

Hate to come off like that, but 'tis the truth.

I open my tv and listen to the news while I do something else, then I'll look at the screen if I've heard something interesting or if it's time for the weather forecast and currency report.

When I do it is because the TV is already on in someone else's house (or when Honey watches it, as he does more often than I do). Otherwise local news usually do not interest me; I get most of my info over the Internet.

I watch every now and then to get an update on was going on during times regardless if it's good or bad news.

Not very often, I rely on the internet for news coverage because it's more convenient and I can read about news not covered on TV. The exception is if my mom is watching the news in the morning before I head to school in which I case I might watch a little bit sometimes.

I don't watch the News often. Most of the news I can easily catch up on with the internet. Plus there's not much actual news in the news shows here. So it's like 80% filler.

Nothing in my area really happens,  so no,  not really. I have a weather app on my phone,  so no reason to watch it on the news.
