yoshirulez! : Are you going to get around to Mountains of Madness? Most people don't care for it as much but I think it is H.P. Lovecraft's best of all his novels. I think it barely edges out Call of Cthulu. There's no dialogue. It's all atmosphere. It's a good read.

I'm currently (re)reading Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk. It's all about theory and social constructs and much less about violence than the movie. It's a good read, a quick read, it's engaging, and I love the deeper levels it hits regarding social commentary.

sonicbros : lol Well, who do you think created the Internet? =P But in all seriousness, that does sound like an intriguing book you're reading.

As for me, I'm currently reading Host by Robin Cook. So far, I'm enjoying it since I really like the kind of writing style this author employs.

I'm currently working on the book "Semper Fi" by W.E.B. Griffin. It's one of my favorite books and one of the motivations for the military back in the day. Griffin knew what he was talking about when he created the experience of the main character, McCoy, in the service and the writing and story telling is flawless, humorous, mildly offensive, and flowing.

I enjoy that book more than most. Go pick it up.

I read Carmilla by J. Sheridan LeFanu. I've wanted to read it for quite a while and I found it online, so I gave it a read. It's not bad. I don't think I'll rush out and buy it or read it again though. Okay, I might buy it, if only because it's the source material for my favourite show.

I've been reading "Of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck for my English class. I don't think we're supposed to have finished it for another week or two but I finished early since I had a lot of time to read while here in Poland. It's pretty good and I like how it tells of the friendship between the mentally impaired Lenny and George who are really two opposites. I especially liked the ending though I felt like it could've been a bit longer.

Other than that I'm reading the Shogun series on and off by James Clavell though I left it at home before my trip. It was given to me by my brother and I find it to be really good so far. It's about an English pirate who becomes stranded in medieval Japan and is forced to learn their way of living. It's a good read for anyone who likes adventure and/or is interested in Japanese culture (in other words a perfect fit for me).

I also went to Auschwitz a few days ago and bought some historical books there. "Auschwitz, The Nazis & The Final Solution" as well as "Their Darkest Hour" both by Laurence Rees though I didn't realize that until after I bought them.

The first is essentially a recounting of the of what lead up to WW2 and what happened during with interviews and testimonials from people who survived. The second is a book about the motivations of the people who committed those crimes as well as the experiences of people who lived there, in Nazi Germany, soviet Russia and ww2 Japan. Really interesting stuff for someone who likes history or is interested in that particular period. I haven't started reading either yet though as I've been pretty busy recently. Hopefully they turn out to be good.

I just got back into the 39 clues again, which is really hard as of late. I used to get every book the day they came out and finish them within a week but now I'm like a whole series+ behind. A few days ago my friend bought me a copy of the very last book in the series, which happened to be the day after it came out, so now I'm going to try my best to keep going with the series so I can finish everything once and for all.

I recently finished reading Persepolis. It's a graphic novel about the author, Marjane Satrapi, and her life as a growing child in Iran in the 1970's. I originally didn't think it'd be very interesting, as we had to read this for our Language Arts, but it's actually very captivating and a nice read. I recommend reading it if you like history and/or graphic novels.

I'm reading Othello on my own. Ever since my English teachers introduced me to Caesar and Macbeth during my sophomore and senior years of high school, I've really taken an interest in Shakespeare's works. I recently finished Hamlet and Much Ado about Nothing. It's nice to be able to read books at my own pace (I read at a somewhat slow pace). I didn't like being expected to read 100 pages over the weekend because I had other things to do and I wasn't able to enjoy or absorb any of the events in the story. Thankfully, that is not a concern I have to worry about now. I can now read and enjoy what I read at a pace I'm comfortable with.

SacredShadow : ooo! Nice choices! Do you also try to analyze the works too as you read?

As for what I'm currently reading... I found a book called The Manga Guide to Molecular Biology by Masaharu Takemura and Becom Co., Ltd. It is a translation of the Japanese original called Manga de Wakaru Bunshi Seibutsugaku. I just picked this book up for fun after seeing it in the library one day because I'm trying to find fun ways for students to learn. From what I can tell so far, this book is pretty much a textbook in manga form. lol In a way, I kind of think it would have been nice if we had books like these for our textbooks instead.

Yuna1000 : I did analyze them as I read and I also made some comparisons between his other works as well XD

At the moment I am reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. For some reason I decided to pick it up from my shelf (the last time I read it was when I started the series in around 4th grade,) and start reading it. I'm glad I did too because I never realized or appreciated the humor throughout the book reading it the first time around. Now I am able to enjoy the book on a much deeper level... Perhaps I'll read through the entire series again since it has been a while...

I've been reading Unbreakable by Thom Shea. It's about the mentality/ resiliency that the SEALS teach. It's really incredible... The kind of tasks they can complete because of their mentality.

I finished reading the Fantastic Beasts book on Saturday and my friend got me to think about the Phantom Tollbooth, so I started reading it again. It's a classic book, full of amazing humor and mind boggling events.

I have bought six books that I need to read: Angeology, some about fictional wars, Halo, Mystical creatures but, the one I am currently reading is 30 Days of Prayer which is actually a very very short read after that I'll probably read something with mystical creatures or a historical book.

Recently, I've been reading a nonfiction book called The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. So far, I'm enjoying this book since I love reading about how a person can change their life for the better.
