I found this site randomly while looking for something to do. I play games most of the time and sometimes do Role plays on online forums so I have pretty good grammar, least I like to think I do.

Like you, I initially also came here for the games. I started with GBA, then moved on to PSX and after that I discovered some funny games to play. Do you focus in a particular system/franchise or maybe you try out whatever game seems to be fun enough to play?

I try to not focus on one franchise or system, I try to play as many games as I can with what I have. I tend to focus more on RPG games or something that has a long story, the more complicated the better because I love trying to figure it out. I play any game that looks interesting to me and some that don't look that interesting because I figure it might have a good story and game play mechanics.

Though I love playing games created by normal people like flash games or hacked games, sometimes a game like that can seem better then the original work considering it's a actual fan.

Well rambled enough after answering the question, just felt like I should of typed something up for what you asked.

A late welcome to Vizzed.

I'm about the same as you in that I don't just stick to any certain series, but I do find one once in a while that I'll keep up with such as Harvest Moon obviously, or Tenchu. But I never lock myself into a certain series, rather I just play what looks good to me, and occasionally grab a completely random game from the RGR and give it a shot (found some really good ones that way too). Although admittedly I do prefer PlayStation systems above all else, that's because I tend to like the kinds of games they support more than what the others support.

So seeing as how you said that you like RPGs and other games with long stories, do you enjoy turn based strategy games? They typically have massive stories, or at least they have in my limited experience with them.

I enjoy forum role plays myself, and have participated in some here on Vizzed, and even led a few. It's always so fascinating giving a group of people a more or less open ended story idea and seeing how they translate it and where they take it. That's the best part of leading an RP, and working with a team to figure out what comes next in the story and how to overcome challenges is what I love about being a player in an RP.

So what are some of your favorite games? Any you would suggest to someone who isn't big on turn based RPGs?

Eirinn :  Yes I enjoy turn based strategies, mostly because I've always been a fan of a games that make you think or second guess yourself, which is why I also why I get nervous playing turn based strategies because I always second guess my actions

Ya I know what you mean, I've always enjoyed RPs. I mostly love making up a character for a Rp, deciding what their name will be how they act and even what they have done to get where they are. Just makes using them more fun.

I have a lot of games I see as my favorite, If I'd have to name a few I guess the top ones would be. Disgaea, Blazebloo and Final fantasy 7. I'd always recommend the Final fantasy series for someone who isn't that big on RPGs, specifically final fantasy 7 It has a good story and a good combat system.

Do you mainly play retro games or modern games? If you mainly play retro games then you'll really like the Retro Game Room. The amount of games and hacks in the RGR will blow your socks off

Oh awesome. Have you tried Super Robot Taisen Original Generation for the Game Boy Advance? I loved that game! If you haven't yet tried it, I highly recommend that you play it and select Kyosuki. I can't tell you how many hours I've put into that one. It's also fun managing the mechs and pilots between battles, plus there's that great story you'd expect.

I enjoy making up a character as well, but I can just never break too far away from my real life self in personality, I don't really know why. Also I'm such a perfectionist that I can spend literally hours making a character, especially if the RP asks for a bio.
But yeah, we need to start up a good RP on here sometime. I've been toying with the idea of starting one myself.

Final Fantasy I don't know about because I lost interest in both of the first two that I tried (which happened to be the first two in the series), but I don't know if they have changed since then or not as gameplay goes.

PacmanandMariofan : Most of the time I tend to go for more retro games just for something to play when I have nothing else to do at the moment. Lately I have been playing more modern games because I figured I might find one that really piques my interest. I have already looked at a few games I might play soon, haven't started playing any since I need to download the the thing that makes it run and my comp hates it when I download something.

I sometimes end up staring at my screen for a long time wondering what to put for their bio, I normally spend a long time just thinking a character up, not to mention typing it so it's exactly like I want it to be. I tend to focus more on combat type RPs most of the time, that just seems to be my forte while writing.

I find the games good, The game play seems to vary from game to game in terms of how magic and status equipment works. The combat still works the same for each, you hit them then they hit you.

I'm often the same way. I'm not as interested in retro games as I used to be, and when I have nothing else to do I'm more motivated to play them.

I don't play a lot of modern games since most of the games I'm interested in are retro games. I can thank my dad for being a proud retro gamer since he got me started with Pac-Man

Is your computer an old computer? My computer is old and back when I had Windows XP on it, there were a lot of things it didn't like downloading. At least it let me download the RGR plugin. Now that I have Windows 7 my computer is a lot better with downloading.

PacmanandMariofan : It's just a laptop, I normally use Google chrome for all my online purposes but I needed to use another type of browser to load the RGR plugin, Using firefox now and it's working so that's all cleared up.

My experience with RPs has been almost exclusively battle related stories. It just seems more natural and fun really. I have done one suspense RP which I also enjoyed a lot, but the RP Master had to quit before it was finished, so I guess we'll always be in suspense concerning what happened next.

How about Tactics? It's the closest to my usual gameplay style as I recall. I could try it again I guess, since I didn't get to try much of it.

Oh, that's probably why it isn't so good with downloading things. Laptops seem to not be able to last near as long as computers do and they seem to have problems quickly.

My family has a horrible record with laptops, each one of them we've bought (and all of them have been different) started slowing down and refusing to work with many programs within just months. We've never been able to get them fixed either, even after taking one of them to a computer repair company!

I normally use Chrome as well, and Firefox likes to pretend that I haven't installed the plugin. Instead of trying to get it to work I don't bother doing anything and I just stick with Chrome.
